5093508 tn?1390543931 I apologize for not replying to your helpful comments. I really appreciate you taking the time. I'm doing what you advised. Off tramadol. Now weaning off valium & zopiclone. Working with my psych only, in regards to meds. I've already but down by one valium in 2 weeks. Will see her on the 6th May and hope to cut down some more. She said to take it slowly, and to do it the way I'm most comfortable with. She gave me no plan as such and is more or less leaving it all up to me.
Avatar f tn It most likely has to do with the amount you are taking . If you decide to go off the valium and the tramadol try one at a time starting with the tramadol.I am here if you need any help tramadol is my DOC. I know how hard it is to come off of . It has to be tapered slowly ..... I am here it you need anything.
Avatar m tn I was using Norco 10/325 for post shoulder surgery pain and I am currently using Tramadol 50mg as a step down for WD symptoms ... I believe I am doing pretty good, however I am 5 days post Norco and on my 2nd consecutive night of no sleep, 73 hours to be exact, can I use Valium 5 mg or 10 mg as a sleep aid?
5639849 tn?1372346883 Welcome to the forum~ I've heard of some dr's using a "5 day tramadol" method to taper down.....but your dr is suggesting norco, valium AND tramadol? Just so you know.....like said above, tramadol IS a semi-synthetic opiate.....it also has an antidepressant component in it. We have MANY tramdol warriors on this forum who say it is WAY WORSE to come off of trams, than norco (hydrocodone).
5093508 tn?1390543931 Yes, it WAS the cause of my anxiety bout last year, as I had stopped it suddenly, due to cost. I put myself back on it when my phantom limb pain was extremely jumping one day, and as I had some gabapentin left, I took 1. That's when I realized that it got rid of my anxiety and therefore, my depression lifted as I was so glad to feel 'normal' again. I continued taking 1, 300mg gabapentin for 4 days and theanxiety did not recur, and I felt better with each day.
Avatar f tn But I am certain it had to do with the additive effect of the morphine with the valium. I take the valium at night with the morphine because without it I wake up stiff (not as stiff when the epidural injection is working but when it wears off it is pretty bad). Found out muscle stiffness is a side effect of the morphine. The Percocet causes a brief period of euphoria where I feel super happy.
Avatar m tn yesterday was 1st day with no tramadol...5th day with no suboxone, today is day 6 no subox, day 2 no tramadol. Can I count today as my 6th day of sobriety or only my 2nd? I only took tramadol 4 days n thot it was like aspirin or Aleve. I was ignorant. Counting victories one day at a time but I want to b accurate.
Avatar f tn I ABSOLUTELY got a high while taking Tramadol. In fact, it gave me a sense of well being that Oxy couldn't even touch. And, it's this emotional antidepressant effect that makes it such a bear to withdraw from. You're at about 110mg a day now. That's a dose that would be handled with a cold turkey withdraw with just a few days of "bad" withdrawals and a couple of weeks of feeling moderately bad. Instead of using the Tramadol, why not just consider jumping off now?
Avatar f tn I have been taking 20mg of diazapam (valium) for years. My pain dr wants me to stop. I can't get an appt with dr for another month. Can I start tapering myself off the drug?? I tried taking 15mg. today seems to be going fine. How long do I remove 5mg and up it to removing 10mg a day. Do I need weeks or days for this process?
Avatar m tn I'd been taking Tramadol for over two months and when I came off them, I was crazy with restlessness. I couldn't sleep properly for almost 2 weeks and I suffered from itchiness and irritability. I was climbing the walls with frustration. Never suffered from side-effects but its awful. I wouldn't recommend taking Tramadol for more than a month and never more than the prescribed dose.
5093508 tn?1390543931 Hi again, I meant to tell you that your answer was most helpful. I was doing exactly what you did. I used valium to help with the Tramadol withdrawal, then the sleep med zopiclone as I was running out of valium. Now I'm nearly run out of zopiclone, so have had to cut right down from having 4 each day, last week, to 1 and a half, then none, as I only have 5 left now. Haven't had any today yet, or any valium, as so far so good, and I feel ok.
Avatar f tn So when you went off the Fentanyl, you didn't go CT? You were taking the Tram and Norco?
Avatar m tn You said you tapered over the last month? Off the valium AND the tramadol? Did you get any help w/taper meds, suggested taper, or advise since you are still on meds for your heart?
968560 tn?1307451498 Hi mpace6983, all I can say is I had the same problem with Tramadol and I also got insomnia from Tramadol and hydrocodone. So, I think you could try Valium but that is stronger I think. Maybe you have a cross reaction with another drug too? I know you will get a better answer on this site. Good luck and hope your pain gets better.
Avatar m tn It works wonders. Also, be vareful with taking valium as benzodiazapines are very hard and risky to come off of. Good luck and feel free to post as often as you need to; there are tons of wonderful, knoledgeable people on this forum. I am on day 17 and I couldnt of done it without this site. Good luck and welcome.
Avatar n tn The other problem I have with Tramadol in particular is it seems a lot of doctors seem to believe that tramadol is not habit forming or addictive and the truth is it is just as addicting. What kind of relationship do you have with this doctor? Will this doctor be doing your surgery or aftercare? I wish you the best going forward and hope you are able to get rid of your pain.
680303 tn?1239984840 Your taking Morphine time release you should not cut in half... Also taking Valium , Tramadol and your stomach is swelling My advice would be to go back to your Dr. tell him you want off the Morphine get your Liver checked out as it could be enlarged... I would also talk to him about the Tramadol as it is not good for long term pain.. You will need to taper off the Valium he/she could also help you with this.. You will receive support here on whatever choices you make..
733362 tn?1489794936 Hi, I am in the process of tapering Valium and is really hard. At 62 years old I have never felt a withdrawal before. I am still taking 1-1/2 Soma a day and 2, 7.5 Norco's. I have had so many broken bones including over 14 rib fractures (not counting older ones), my scapula has a huge hole punched in it, I have asked where did it go? The Doc told me it was pulverized and gone.
Avatar m tn Hopefully there is something else out there that can help with your leg pain condition once you are through the detox/withdrawal. The problem with Tramadol is that you have to keep increasing the dose to make it work, and then you get the ugly side affects along with it. I wish you the very best of luck . . . . let us know how you are doing.
Avatar m tn I am hooked to valium-10 yrs.,Tramadol-5 yrs.If i don't take them,I feel depressed. Is it that the drugs are giving relief from depression( I am depressed as early as childhood ).
Avatar m tn not to many pleasures in this rodeo i can tell you, my question is i have about 10 tramadol been having forever, should i take this to make it through work, i promise i do not need a replacement pill as this ride is enough to knocj sence into the hardest head, did alot of drugs in my time, never became addicted , not in me, but look at me now, i just had to get the pain mamagent going , so should i stay at work or should i take the tramadol for the 4 to 5 day sickness to deal with work???
Avatar f tn Mareke, I for one am glad that you posted and expressed your thoughts & experience with Tramadol. As a regular Tramadol user who is beginning to weigh its pros against its cons, I came to this forum to obtain information, not necessarily to ask a question. If you look at the top of each thread, you will notice that it states that the forums are a community for 'discussions' and that is what you were doing....discussing.
