Tramadol with hydrocodone

Common Questions and Answers about Tramadol with hydrocodone

Avatar n tn The truth is, all you're doing is prolonging the withdrawals. to switch from the hydrocodone straight to the tramadol, you're just switching which drug is filling your endorphin receptors. So after a few days, any withdrawal you feel is going to be a tramadol withdrawal and not a hydrocodone withdrawal. And yes, it will be worse, there are many more horror stories about tram than hydrocodone.
Avatar m tn yes i am on day three of detoxing from hydrocodone and am currently taking tramadol bout 150 mg a day and it seems to be helping im not really as sick and am pretty mobile i have also used prayer but was wondering if im going to be in the same boat when the tramadol runs out
Avatar m tn I see lots of issues with Tramadol here, but has anyone experienced the same type of withdrawals with hydrocodone? I took it for 3 years because I had three back surgeries during that time and when I came off of it I could not sleep for a week straight. Kind of like an anxiety in my brain or almost a buzzing and could not relax then the sweats and flu like symptons.
Avatar m tn Hey guys, Im new here and wanted some advice. Ive been taking Tramadol and Hydrocodone together for about three months off and on, perscribed of course, then I started reading how bad withdrawals can be from the Tramadol, so I quit taking it cold turkey with little side effects. Now I'm getting ready to quit this Hydrocodone, just a little scared from withdrawal and what to expect. will it be bad after just three months. averaged about 40 mgs. daily.
2107732 tn?1335127983 I am glad you asked about this and did some research. Tramadol comes with a whole bunch of problems. Some doctors do believe this drug is not a narcotic. Many states are now labeling this drug as a Scheduled narcotic and rightfully so.
Avatar m tn Be careful with the Tramadol. It is in fact highly addictive. It is considered a non narcotic, but its dangerous just the same. And the WD coming off of Tramadol is worse than Hydro WD. Trust me...I know people that have been addicted to them....and they are hell to get off of.
Avatar f tn {First time I took Tramadol was in 1999. 2 per day for 1 year. (1 every 12 hours) Then I quit cold turkey. That sucked for about 3 days. But only mild withdrawals. That was my first long term go around with pills.} Then I slowly started getting into hydrocodones. I eventually got really addicted to the hydrocodones. I got on Methadone in Aug 2004. Had to get back on the hydrocodone to get off the methadone. Then I quit the hydrocodones.
975183 tn?1251813472 ve only been taking the tramadol for a week. I started weaning myself off the hydrocodone with tramadol- I took my last hydrocodone yesterday at about 11:00am. So when I stop the tramadol, I will have only been taking them for 2 weeks.
Avatar n tn Is Tramadol an Opiate and is it stronger then hydrocodone? Anyone with advice concerning this drug HELP.
699217 tn?1323438700 I wanted to know what the difference is between hydrocodone and like-oxycontin or oxycodone, Percocet, tramadol, is this all just types of hydrocodone? All I ever took was hydrocodone....
Avatar f tn The sweats are most likely withdrawls from the hydrocodone. Im not farmiliar with tramadol or if its addicting. I heard tho ultracet wasnt addictive like hydrocodone but I read on here somewhere where someone was addicted to it. I would read up on here of peoples storries about teh tramadol and see what u find. How long have u been off the hydrocodone?
Business man2 Hydrocodone can be combined with Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen for pain. Both preparations have similar outcomes for pain relief.
403399 tn?1201833095 Serotonin Syndrome Risk The development of a potentially life-threatening serotonin syndrome may occur with use of tramadol products, including ULTRAM ER, particularly with concomitant use of serotonergic drugs such as SSRIs, SNRIs, TCAs, MAOIs and triptans, with drugs which impair metabolism of serotonin (including MAOIs) and with drugs which impair metabolism of tramadol (CYP2D6 and CYP3A4 inhibitors). This may occur within the recommended dose.
Avatar m tn Dear Doctor, I was perscribed Tramadol for my back along with some hydrocodone for my back surgery coming up on May 6th. Then I started reading how awful it is to get off of Tramadol. I never abused it, or got high off of it. Just want to stop before I get in too deep. My question is , will I have withdrawals from 3 months of this drug. I asked my Pharmacist and he said I probably wouldn't due to that it has been 32 hours since I touched a pill.
Avatar f tn Once took 40 Norco in 14 hours. And I can tell you Tramadol is Far more dangerous to get involved with! The withdrawals are worse than Heroin, many many people have said. I have had withdrawals from Methadone, and I can tell you Tramadol is just as bad. Tramadol is bad news, not to start is the best idea! I'd rather withdrawal from hydrocodone, it is a picnic compared to coming off Tramadol!
Avatar f tn s and some tramadol....can anyone tell me if that pretty fast taper will help with the withdrawels... another question, will any of the meds i mention help with withdrawels, and what am i gonna expect tomorrow morning when i dont have 2 pills to take right when i wake up...

My husband works all the time and I have a 4 year old son to take care of. This is the 6th day that i haven't gotten out of bed. Avatar f tn Have not taken tramadol for days, but been taking the hydrocodone. Now more and more Hydrocodone. Thought mabey going back to tramadol and leaving the hydros. Now i'm not sure which way to go. I badly want off both. Anyone have any suggestions?
Avatar f tn Vicodin is a higher pain killer than tramadol. Tramadol to me is no different to tylenol, then i have some friends that are addicted to it. I am coming off of vicodin and i dont sugest anyone take it for any periods of time. I dont know your story but if possible i would stray from vicodin. LIke i said i have used them both and vicodin gave the the pain relief and the "high" i was looking for tramadol didnt even touch the pain.
Avatar m tn I agree with mimi, No tramadol. If it's only been 2 weeks. He should just quit. He will get back to somewhat normal in a week or two. We can't say for sure but his w/d will probably minimal.
Avatar m tn Hey Lynn... Congratulations for reclaiming your life! I too, have severe endemetriosis (amongst other things) and was on opiates for a long time before going c/t 36 days ago...I just wanted to add-hot baths with epsom salts, fluid, vitamins, heat heat heat HYDRATE... And be careful with the tramadol and t-3's..They are no different than the hydrocodone when metabolized-so really it's prolonging the process..Have you spoken with your doctor about what you're doing?
Avatar m tn My question is, will it help ease the pain and is it still even good after 5 years? I also may be getting some tramadol tomorrow to help with the withdrawal as well...can these be taken together? Thank you for ur help!
Avatar n tn Can I take Hydrocodone 10/325, Cyclobenzaprine 10mg, and Tramadol 50mg together safely?

Avatar n tn A former colleague of mine swears that Tramadol is more effective for her than Hydrocodone. She actually went from Hydrocodone to Tramadol. Why is it effective for her? Because we are all different and different medications work differently on each of us. Actually your physician may be making a smart move. In my opinion it's worth a try. Tramadol is prescribed for the treatment of moderate to moderately severe chronic pain in adults. It works very similarly to morphine.
