990354 tn?1307132886 Serotonin Syndrome Risk The development of a potentially life-threatening serotonin syndrome may occur with use of tramadol products, including ULTRAM ER, particularly with concomitant use of serotonergic drugs such as SSRIs, SNRIs, TCAs, MAOIs and triptans, with drugs which impair metabolism of serotonin (including MAOIs) and with drugs which impair metabolism of tramadol (CYP2D6 and CYP3A4 inhibitors). This may occur within the recommended dose.
626605 tn?1302520471 Spontaneous post-marketing reports indicate that seizure risk is increased with doses of tramadol above the recommended range. Concomitant use of tramadol increases the seizure risk in patients taking: •Selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors (SSRI antidepressants or anorectics), •Tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs), and other tricyclic compounds (e.g., cyclobenzaprine, promethazine, etc.), or •Other opioids.

1260255 tn?1288654564 s a very bad idea to mix alcohol and tramadol. It could have serious consequences. Drinking alcohol while taking Tramadol increases your risk for serious reactions. This includes the risk of Seizures and Respiratory Depression. I hope you will avoid any alcohol. I use to drink socially. I'd have a glass or two of wine several times a week. Since I have required narcotics to control my chronic pain I haven't even tasted alcohol.

Avatar f tn m pretty much alone in a rural community, but do have a great boyfriend now, that is drug, alcohol and cigarette free. Please give me some advice. I see a local, nurse practicioner and has only made things worse for my health, not that she doesn't try, she is just really busy and doesn't know about pain killer addiction.

Avatar m tn Tramadol has a plasma elimination half life of 6-7 hours, so all the drug will get metabolized and excreted by about 30-35 hours. However, mixed with alcohol, tramadol can cause serious side effects. Usually tramadol acts by altering the brain’s biochemical environment and similarly alcohol too alters brains biochemical environment.

Avatar m tn I was going thru whitdrawls from Tramadol. This is a terrible drug like cathy5841 says you get double whammed from this drug with antidep.and opioid type whitdrawls. They never worked for my pain very good either compared to the Vicodin i was on. It never gave me a high more of a detached feeling that i did not like. I will never take this drug again for pain. My advise would be to stay away from it. There are lots of posts in here on Tramadol/Ultram. Hope it works out good for you.

Avatar f tn If you go down the whole taking way more than prescribed then start mixing with alcohol then Hun you must be clear with your doc. These are not to be mixed. And tramadol at high doses can be very dangerous so it's in your best interest regardless of the alcohol issue that you take only the dose prescribed.
Avatar m tn Dear Doctor, I was perscribed Tramadol for my back along with some hydrocodone for my back surgery coming up on May 6th. Then I started reading how awful it is to get off of Tramadol. I never abused it, or got high off of it. Just want to stop before I get in too deep. My question is , will I have withdrawals from 3 months of this drug. I asked my Pharmacist and he said I probably wouldn't due to that it has been 32 hours since I touched a pill.
1178983 tn?1279663655 Someone will be along to help you with the questions pertaining to Tramadol. What I can say is NEVER drink alcohol with your medication. Did you read the warning on the bottle? That is really not safe and it concerns me. It is quiet so hang on while members come on.
Avatar f tn Is there any natural thing to help me with my cold-turkey Tramadol with-drawl.
