Tramadol vs tylenol 3

Common Questions and Answers about Tramadol vs tylenol 3

ultracet

Avatar m tn t know the spelling but it is the ingredient in regular over counter tylenol times 3 plus Tramadol. The main ingredient in Ultram is Tramadol but there is a difference. When you are prescribed straight Tram it is w/out the tylenol. Apparently when taken together (Ultram prescription) the tramadol works faster and longer. It becomes more potent when you mix the two. It speeds up the tramadol effect if you will.
Avatar f tn ultracet has acetominophen (tylenol) in them, and the tramadol doesnt. They can come in varying dosages. Why is he taking them? Does he want to quit? Tram is a dangerous drug to take and to stop, you have to taper down slowly or you could have seizures. You can have seizures from takign too many as well. How long has he been on them?
Avatar f tn Thank you....so it is a narcotic? Ive been trying to look up some info on it before i take it and when i google it tells me it is non-narcotic? But Avis said try a non narcotic instead...Im really confused...
Avatar f tn Vicodin is a higher pain killer than tramadol. Tramadol to me is no different to tylenol, then i have some friends that are addicted to it. I am coming off of vicodin and i dont sugest anyone take it for any periods of time. I dont know your story but if possible i would stray from vicodin. LIke i said i have used them both and vicodin gave the the pain relief and the "high" i was looking for tramadol didnt even touch the pain.
Avatar f tn I am wondering if there is something besides Tylenol 3 that I can ask for to be prescribed as I have some liver issues and everytime I get a migraine or other aches and pains that are too much for over the counter, I get prescribed T3's, but I am concerned they are making my liver worse. I have fatty liver disease, and I don't drink, and I don't really eat fatty foods (the two most common causes of FLD). I just need something as strong as T3's, but not as hard on liver?
Avatar f tn Hi. I take about 500 mg of tramadol per day. It looks like I am going to run out about 3 days before I can get my next refill. I have some Tylenol 3 with codiene left over from a root canal. If I take those when u run out of the tramadol will I be ok withdrawl wise? It's only for three days so I'm hoping I'll be ok. I just remember the last time I took the codiene it made me really sleepy and sedated like. Did not like that feeling at all!!
403399 tn?1201833095 The only reason why Tramadol (Ultracet, Ultram, etc.) is not considered a narcotic is because at the moment it is unscheduled in the USA and pretty much everywhere else. It is fairly new being researched and first put on the market in the 90's.
Avatar f tn re taking too much tylenol -- this will cause liver damage over time. Please limit your tylenol to 3 g per day -- this is 6 - 500mg "extra strength" pills. There is tylenol in Percocet. In the mean time, please ask your doctor to rotate you to roxycodone which does not have tyelnol. A good pain management doctor will work with you and find a proper treatment regimen for your pain.
Avatar n tn i have blood work done every 3 mths and it has always been normal. i am worried that the tramadol and ibuprofen could damage my liver. i only take 7.5-750mg vicodin. wouldnt it be better to just take the vicodin again?
Avatar m tn Hot baths or showers for the aches, along with Advil or Tylenol. Congrats on 3 days! You can do this!!! Keep us updated. One more thing, lack of sleep is a given. Ya might try something all natural to help with that. But just know sleep will return. Everything gets outta whack when detoxing. All will return, it just takes time and a whole lotta patience. Take care...
Avatar f tn Tramadol is technically an opioid, although synthetic, it is still considered a narcotic. Tramadol and Tylenol are not the same as Tramadol is an opioid as well as acts as an SNRI. You should google Tramadol and read about it before you take it or call your doctor.
Avatar n tn Vicodin is stronger then Tramadol. I think if you get put on tramadol you will be in alot more pain. My father inlaw takes it and it does nothing for him. I took it and it did nothing for me. Vicodin on the other hand did help my pain alittle. I would try to talk him into not doing it, ask him what is the main reason for changing your meds. I hate to say it but if you get them changed like that you will be in alot more pain. This is just my option. Tramadol did nothing for me.
Avatar f tn I a not a doctor but, I also have lower back problems, degenerated disk, herniated disk, and hep c... so far 100mg of tramadol twice a day seems to work for me, I also take hydrocodone once and a while if my pain is bad, same as lortab only 5/500.
Avatar f tn My dr says the only over the counter headache/pain med that is safe is tylenol for the time you are confirmed to be pregnant until delevery.
Avatar m tn Ultram is nothing more than the Brand name for Tramadol and Ultram ER is a timed release of Tramadol. Ultracet is merely Tramdol and Tylenol in the same pill.
Avatar n tn habit forming and not super powerful in the pain relief arena but very addictive for many people..there is no tylenol in ultram or tramadol/but ultracet has tylenol in it so liver problems if taking alot of them can be a concern....like cathy said..why do u ask?
Avatar n tn 50mg? That is one tramadol tablet per day, if you aren't taking the tram/tylenol mix. Is that what you meant to post?
968560 tn?1307451498 I had headache big time tylenol didn´t help so I´ve got tramadol for the last 8 months on treatment. The perfect dose was two capsuels and one tylenol one or two times a day. Without the tylenol it didn´t help and one tylenol was better than two. I felt so freaking good on them but stopped as soon treatment ended. I´ve been a sober alcohol and drug addict for 22 years now, but I never have felt real good being sober it has always been like something is missing.
Avatar n tn t know anything about Sub, except it is suppose to be three times as strong as Tramadol. And since you are on Tramadol now, I say stay on that and taper off that. Why keep bouncing back and forth from one to the other? It will only bring you pain and discomfort.
