ultracet

403399 tn?1201833095 The only reason why Tramadol (Ultracet, Ultram, etc.) is not considered a narcotic is because at the moment it is unscheduled in the USA and pretty much everywhere else. It is fairly new being researched and first put on the market in the 90's.
699217 tn?1323438700 I wanted to know what the difference is between hydrocodone and like-oxycontin or oxycodone, Percocet, tramadol, is this all just types of hydrocodone? All I ever took was hydrocodone....
1264863 tn?1391118193 Hey Jen You are doing amazing. I'm so glad you are off the oxycontin. If I was you I would do the tramadol next. It is the roughest out of the rest. I know none of them are "easy" but a lot of people have a rougher time coming off of tramadol. What do you think?
Avatar m tn t have any desire to do Oxycontin any more, nor do I have the desire to take extra Tramadol because it works fine taking it as prescribed. I have been taking Tramadol for about a month now, and so far have had no signs of a tolerance issue, which is my doctors main concern since I am already taking the max dose for Tramadol. Now I'm prescribed Tramadol, Clonidine, Mirtazapine, and Lorazepam. I doing very good and have no depression and much less anxiety.
Avatar f tn I mean, I know Oxycontin is slow release, but percocet is Oxycodone and how is that different from the Oxycontin? I thought they were the same only, one was slow release and one was not, but there must be another difference... Right?
Avatar f tn Hi again. I noticed your post about oxycontin. That's another med I'm on that I want to get off, as with all the other meds I'm on, as none are working any more for what they were prescribed for in the first place. I have to deal with tramadol withdrawal first though. Anyway, I'm on 20mg oxycontin morning, and 30mg afternoon, plus oxycodone 5-10mg for breakthrough pain.
Avatar n tn I had quit an oxycontin addiction of over 5 years only to be prescribed Tramadol - my doc. even knows about my oxycontin addiction. However, I have heard some horror stories about Tramadol as well, about its dependencies and withdrawal problems. The thing is - I do have legitimate muscle/bone pain that needs to be treated in some fashion. I guess I'm just worried that taking Tramadol will become addictive and just another monkey to get off my back. Please help me figure this out.
Avatar f tn Hi, I take Tramadol for my chronic back pain. Initially my pain Dr. did not want to prescribe Tramadol for me since I take Effexor for depression. But after taking so many pain meds, and needing to try a new one, he agreed to let me try Tramadol slowly. The Tramadol has worked well for me, and luckily I didn't have any problems with the combination of drugs. Actually the Tramadol has really helped my mood ( I think because of the snri). So I have started to taper off the Effexor.
Avatar f tn I have been on Oxycontin for 2 years and am going to try quitting cold turkey. Anyone know the best way to quit cold turkey?? any suggestions will help greatly.
15290316 tn?1447023108 I had no problem with transitioning from Oxycontin to Tramadol because I tapered way down on the Oxy. The Tramadol was okay in managing my pain, but over the past week, I've had terrible headaches. The headache is there 24/7. Does anyone have experience with this and know if the Tramadol is causing them? I didn't take any yesterday or today because I don't want to get physically dependent on them.
Avatar m tn s if stopped abruptly) which i only took if i ran out of oxycontin. I noticed in the past that if i took tramadol after stopping oxycontin I would only experience very very light WD's. Here the process: After stopping the oxycontin i took (4) 50mgs tabs of tramadol for 2 days, then down to 3 for 2 days, 2 for 2 and so on until a week went by and stopped the tramadol and experience only sweating and very very light Wd's while taking the tramadol.
Avatar m tn I broke my back about 18 months ago and have been on tramadol sinse then. I am now a true addict and dont like it. I want to get off of it but dont know what I could take instead. My GP is usless and asks me what i think i should take. He also thinks that the pain is in my head. I would be graitfull for any advice and help I can get.
Avatar n tn t know anything about Sub, except it is suppose to be three times as strong as Tramadol. And since you are on Tramadol now, I say stay on that and taper off that. Why keep bouncing back and forth from one to the other? It will only bring you pain and discomfort.
Avatar n tn Vicodin is stronger then Tramadol. I think if you get put on tramadol you will be in alot more pain. My father inlaw takes it and it does nothing for him. I took it and it did nothing for me. Vicodin on the other hand did help my pain alittle. I would try to talk him into not doing it, ask him what is the main reason for changing your meds. I hate to say it but if you get them changed like that you will be in alot more pain. This is just my option. Tramadol did nothing for me.
Avatar n tn i have taken vicodin for about 10 years now. I have never increased the dosage or abuse the med. my dr recently put me on tramadol which i'll try anything. i am to take 2 tramadol twice daily or as needed along with 800 mg ibuprofen twice daily. i have not found any resolve with this medication (i have been on it 2 weeks). i also have not had any typical withdrawl symptoms from stopping the vicodin. i have degeneration of my t3 and t4 vertebre and spinal rotation and of course subluxation.
Avatar f tn Tramadol is just as addicting and worse to come off of .I would look into non narcotic aleratives . ...
Avatar f tn ultracet has acetominophen (tylenol) in them, and the tramadol doesnt. They can come in varying dosages. Why is he taking them? Does he want to quit? Tram is a dangerous drug to take and to stop, you have to taper down slowly or you could have seizures. You can have seizures from takign too many as well. How long has he been on them?
Avatar f tn Vicodin is a higher pain killer than tramadol. Tramadol to me is no different to tylenol, then i have some friends that are addicted to it. I am coming off of vicodin and i dont sugest anyone take it for any periods of time. I dont know your story but if possible i would stray from vicodin. LIke i said i have used them both and vicodin gave the the pain relief and the "high" i was looking for tramadol didnt even touch the pain.
Avatar n tn twould be best to leave all narcotics alone...u r trying to shake this whole ball of wax so caving to trams is not the answer...have u talked to ur dr about a sedative or sumpin to help? trams do not follow the same pathway as other narcotics/nor sub/but advising u to use them when u r trying to get clean is just not in the vocabulary of most on this forum/as it is another addictive drug with its own set of problems..
Avatar f tn I can't remember if I asked this before or not but does Tramadol affect the same receptors that codeine does? I swear I need to see the Wizard of Oz and get a brain!
667913 tn?1242700488 I think one is just time released (oxycontin) while the other is regular but you know it is really easy to find this info on the internet -- just google it.
Avatar m tn I wont bore you with my story but been on and off pain meds for 4 years and now i want to get completly off. My most recent battle is with oxycontin for the last month were I was taking 150mg a day and was afraid to sleep in the fear I wouldnt wake up. I need some advice on getting off this ****. Im down to 40mg today and plan to go to to 20 on tuesday and wed. 10mg thu and friday 5mg sat - mon and then all the pills are gone. What should i expect?
1529480 tn?1291877134 SInce I was so used to percocet and it worked, she put me on oxycontin. That worked great. I felt so much better. Unfortunately my insurance won't pay for it and I can't afford $218 a month for it. So my doctor put me back on the ****** morphine. I thought I would give it more of a shot. Well 15 mg. doesn't work so she had to bump it up to 30. I hate taking the 15 let alone 15 more every 8 hours.
Avatar f tn Here is an old thread talking about the differences between Ultram (which is just tramadol) vs. Ultracet (which is lower dose tram with added acet). Hope it is helpful: http://www.medhelp.
