In a search for an answer to your side effects question I also did some looking into the prescribed Meloxicam. Some of the side effects of Mobic (meloxicam) are problems with vision or balance and headaches. Sorry I could not be of greater assistance. Please discuss your SX with your prescribing physician. It may behove you to try an alternative pain medication to see if your SX will decrease or resolve.

The one non-narcotic pain reliever that comes to my mind is Ultram (tramadol). I have talked to many who have used it with success.

I have ulcerative colitis for a few years, I been in hospital a couple of times but the last time i was in it was due to the pain killing drug meloxicam for joint pain. I am almost sure celelbrex is in the same family, so to speak, as meloxicam.. I ended up losing the lining of my stomach. I had had a problem with anti flams for a while and i new i couldnt take celebrex as i had terrible cramps in my stomach.

1xdaily-meloxicam 15, aspirin 325, prilosec OTC, valium10, Claritin 10; 2xdaily-etodolac 400, flexeril 10, soma 350, savella 50, adderall 30, bupropion 400, advair 500/50; 3xdaily-lyrica 75, baclofen 10, insta-flex (a joint support medicine ordered off of TV), tramadol 50, methadone 5; and as needed daily oxycodone 15 (up to 6 per day), black cohosh, pro-air.

Anywhoo, he gave me a script for mobic and tramadol. I have never been prescribed either, but after reading this forum, I opted NOT to get the tramadol filled. I did get the mobic filled because I only take it once daily so I figured it would be okay. Any advice on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

my arthritis pain has been in my larger joints for a few years now but within the last 8 months it has gotten to the point that i cant even braid my hair some days because my hands hurt so bad. i have been on meloxicam for about six months and i take vitamins regularly. since i have been on the meloxicam my bursitis(which i have delt with for fifteen years and no meds) flared up and has not subsided, my body still aches daily and i take vicodin at night so i can sleep which does help.

I am convinced that tramadol is the devil! Lol as funny as that sounds it is somewhat true. I started taking tramadol about 7 months ago and I don't allow myself to take more that 4 50mg a day. I have run out between scripts and have had the withdrawal symptoms. Tingling sensations, weakness, nausea, tiredness, headaches...the list goes on. Ive become so dependant on these pills that I actually need them to cope.

t know anything about Sub, except it is suppose to be three times as strong as Tramadol. And since you are on Tramadol now, I say stay on that and taper off that. Why keep bouncing back and forth from one to the other? It will only bring you pain and discomfort.

The only reason why Tramadol (Ultracet, Ultram, etc.) is not considered a narcotic is because at the moment it is unscheduled in the USA and pretty much everywhere else. It is fairly new being researched and first put on the market in the 90's.

Vicodin is stronger then Tramadol. I think if you get put on tramadol you will be in alot more pain. My father inlaw takes it and it does nothing for him. I took it and it did nothing for me. Vicodin on the other hand did help my pain alittle. I would try to talk him into not doing it, ask him what is the main reason for changing your meds. I hate to say it but if you get them changed like that you will be in alot more pain. This is just my option. Tramadol did nothing for me.

i have taken vicodin for about 10 years now. I have never increased the dosage or abuse the med. my dr recently put me on tramadol which i'll try anything. i am to take 2 tramadol twice daily or as needed along with 800 mg ibuprofen twice daily. i have not found any resolve with this medication (i have been on it 2 weeks). i also have not had any typical withdrawl symptoms from stopping the vicodin. i have degeneration of my t3 and t4 vertebre and spinal rotation and of course subluxation.

Tramadol is just as addicting and worse to come off of .I would look into non narcotic aleratives . ...

ultracet has acetominophen (tylenol) in them, and the tramadol doesnt. They can come in varying dosages. Why is he taking them? Does he want to quit? Tram is a dangerous drug to take and to stop, you have to taper down slowly or you could have seizures. You can have seizures from takign too many as well. How long has he been on them?

Vicodin is a higher pain killer than tramadol. Tramadol to me is no different to tylenol, then i have some friends that are addicted to it. I am coming off of vicodin and i dont sugest anyone take it for any periods of time. I dont know your story but if possible i would stray from vicodin. LIke i said i have used them both and vicodin gave the the pain relief and the "high" i was looking for tramadol didnt even touch the pain.

My medications are Meloxicam, Tramadol, Baclofen for arthritis and sever muscle spasms. Could any of these in conjunction with the lidocaine that was mixed with the cortizone be causing this and this is just a temporary condition?

Can you take meloxicam and later a couple of Advil? I was prescribed meloxicam for my arthritis and it does not always help me..

Has anyone been to a pain management clinic? My doctor doesn't want me on narcotics long term (and neither do I!) so he's referred me to pain management. I have no idea what to expect. I've taken (without help) gabapentin, meloxicam, ibuprofen, tramadol, lortab (5, 7.5, & 10) and can't take excedrin and tylenol has never worked. I've also had 8 weeks of physical therapy and the chiropractor (not simultaneously) with no relief.

What can I do or stop doing to return to normal? I have stopped taking my pain pills for my back problem (Meloxicam and Tramadol) and only take my blood pressure and thyroid meds. Stopped taking vitamins and supplements too (one-a-day, B-150, chromium picolinate) but have to take Melatonin, D3 and calcium to help me sleep most nights if I haven't taken the Maxalt.

Meloxicam is considered a strong Motrin, but this meloxicam knocked me out for 24 hours. My husband was soon prescribed it and he also hated it. You cannot drive or read, just sleep. Meloxicam is a pain killer, very strong, and doctors are acting like it is just motrin. It is not. It puts you in a coma.

I have been on Meloxicam for about 4 months and have gained 20 pounds and i feel swollen. I am also on highblood pressure meds. I just quit taking the Meloxicam. Does anyone know if the weight goes away? How long does it take for bloated feeling to go away?

I got x-rays and was diagnosed with degenerative arthritis in my big toe joint and on 9-18-13 I started taking Meloxicam (Mobic). The 1st two nights of taking Meloxicam I felt achey at night and had a fever of about 100- 101. That went away for a while, but then started happening again now every night from about 10-1-13 to now 10-11-13. I get a slight fever at night (100-101) and sweat bad all night long. Bad enough to where the sheets are wet. I usually lose about 3 - 3 1/2 lbs.

I recently found myself in a position where I have no Vs and am unable to obtain any. My doc had given my Adderol for depression and for focusing so I can work. I find that when I'm going through the w/d, the adderol helps with the cravings and other w/d effects, except the sleepless nights, crazy legs and no appetite. I was doing up to 20 Vs a day for chronic back and neck pain from ruptured discs. So many of us have this problem.

Is there anyone who is taking Meloxicam that would know how much aspirin is in it? I am allergic to aspirin and just read the printout from the pharmacy. Can't call my dr till Mon. and think maybe I shouldn't take it. On the other hand my dr knows I'm allergic to aspirin. Hoping someone may know.
