Avatar m tn Hi all, I've just started using this site and already it looks like it could give me the inspiration to stop my awful abuse of dihydrocodeine (DF118) (mainly, I'll also take morphine, oxycodone, tramadol, if I run out aaahhh). I'm 32, from Scotland UK, and I've been an addict for over 8 years (i think... can't remember when I started these demon pills!). I take AT LEAST 30 x 30 mg df118s a day, and have did THIS amount daily for 5+ years.
Avatar f tn 5mg of tramadaol HCl, whereas tramdol alone (brand name Zydol) is in multiples of 50mg. Tramadol is much stronger than codeine or dihydrocodeine. 50mg of tramadol is pretty much the same as 10mg of oral morphine, so to say that it is not narcotic is stupid and ridiculous! Hope this helps!
Avatar n tn I went to the doctors twice and they suggested that it was probably an alcohol/tramadol interaction and that I should not take any more tramadol. It is now monday and I still feel pretty awful although my worst experience was at about 9am. I feel like my state of mind is walking a tight rope and that anything could nock it off. Am I suffering from withdrawal and how long might it last?
Avatar m tn i am on very high doses of morphine, oramorph, tramadol, dihydrocodeine, baclofen, arthrotec & some paracetamol for a bad back. I also have osteoporosis & take calcium tablets for this too. This has gone on for 5 years since i fell off the back of my old works truck. Oh & 2 lots of pills for high blood pressure.
Avatar n tn t know anything about Sub, except it is suppose to be three times as strong as Tramadol. And since you are on Tramadol now, I say stay on that and taper off that. Why keep bouncing back and forth from one to the other? It will only bring you pain and discomfort.
403399 tn?1201833095 The only reason why Tramadol (Ultracet, Ultram, etc.) is not considered a narcotic is because at the moment it is unscheduled in the USA and pretty much everywhere else. It is fairly new being researched and first put on the market in the 90's.
Avatar n tn Vicodin is stronger then Tramadol. I think if you get put on tramadol you will be in alot more pain. My father inlaw takes it and it does nothing for him. I took it and it did nothing for me. Vicodin on the other hand did help my pain alittle. I would try to talk him into not doing it, ask him what is the main reason for changing your meds. I hate to say it but if you get them changed like that you will be in alot more pain. This is just my option. Tramadol did nothing for me.
639472 tn?1243178810 Hello all..I Have been a Dihydrocodeine addict for over 6 years now.ive been on the 30mg tabs now im on the 60 & 90mg DHC tabs..i take about 600mg a day..i would love to hear from anyone who is in the same boat as me..
Avatar m tn Having been on dihydrocodeine for 20 years...yes 20 years, I am now starting to crack up. It was originally prescribed for me for a long term, 30yrs, shoulder problem. I have now had the head of the humerous removed. I came off the tabs for about a month ( very hard ) then smashed my T13 vertebrae. The Dr put me back on Dihydrocodeine and added Oxycontin and Oxynorm. I have since managed to get off the latter two....EXTREMELY HARD.
Avatar n tn All I want to do is go home and curl up in bed. Ive learned that Tramadol can help ease the withdrawals but these too are only obtainable via a prescription. I can hardly see the same Dr giving me them as well as taking me off DHC. Can anyone offer any advice?
Avatar n tn i have taken vicodin for about 10 years now. I have never increased the dosage or abuse the med. my dr recently put me on tramadol which i'll try anything. i am to take 2 tramadol twice daily or as needed along with 800 mg ibuprofen twice daily. i have not found any resolve with this medication (i have been on it 2 weeks). i also have not had any typical withdrawl symptoms from stopping the vicodin. i have degeneration of my t3 and t4 vertebre and spinal rotation and of course subluxation.
Avatar f tn Tramadol is just as addicting and worse to come off of .I would look into non narcotic aleratives . ...
Avatar f tn ultracet has acetominophen (tylenol) in them, and the tramadol doesnt. They can come in varying dosages. Why is he taking them? Does he want to quit? Tram is a dangerous drug to take and to stop, you have to taper down slowly or you could have seizures. You can have seizures from takign too many as well. How long has he been on them?
Avatar f tn Vicodin is a higher pain killer than tramadol. Tramadol to me is no different to tylenol, then i have some friends that are addicted to it. I am coming off of vicodin and i dont sugest anyone take it for any periods of time. I dont know your story but if possible i would stray from vicodin. LIke i said i have used them both and vicodin gave the the pain relief and the "high" i was looking for tramadol didnt even touch the pain.
Avatar f tn Here is an old thread talking about the differences between Ultram (which is just tramadol) vs. Ultracet (which is lower dose tram with added acet). Hope it is helpful: http://www.medhelp.
Avatar m tn hi there. i take 660mg of dihydrocodeine daily, have for ablut 9 months now. it is the long acting type. it just isn't strong enough, i am considering asking my doctor about suboxone, is my dose of DHC high? i don't like taking 11 pills a day, especially when it is not really doing the job it is supposed to - sometimes it helps keep the withdrawls at bay, most of the time it doesn't.
20931880 tn?1698580076 On leaving hospital (after a 2 week stay in critical care) I was prescribed morphine for a few weeks. The GP then recommended tramadol instead, was on this for a few months but had two seizures so was taken off of them. GP then prescribed dihydrocodeine 30mg which I have on repeat every month.
Avatar n tn I recently found myself in a position where I have no Vs and am unable to obtain any. My doc had given my Adderol for depression and for focusing so I can work. I find that when I'm going through the w/d, the adderol helps with the cravings and other w/d effects, except the sleepless nights, crazy legs and no appetite. I was doing up to 20 Vs a day for chronic back and neck pain from ruptured discs. So many of us have this problem.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have an almost 14yo pit bull that is on both Metacam and Tramadol. rimadyl is an NSAID, similar to metacam and some others. Tramadol is opiate based but considered safe for dogs. My pit was on rimadyl for a year or so, then we switched to metacam which the vet said was a little stronger, then after about 2 years we added the tramadol. Just last week we upped the tramadol as dogs can develop a tolerance just like humans.
