Avatar n tn tramadol and co-codamol can be taken together. tramadol is a morphine salt based drug which acts on the brains pain receptor. co-codamol comes in different strengths, all with 500mg of paracetamol per tablet. some with 8/15/30 or 60mg codiene. co-codamol acts upon the sensory nerves and motor neurons. when combined these 2 drugs provide very effective relief of moderate to severe pain.
Avatar m tn Can long tern Co-Codamol & tramadol use cause mental health issues? I ask as I have been on both meds in excess of 7 Years, I am also convinced that these have caused my Tourette's.
Avatar f tn Co-codamol is another Opiate and switching from Tramadol to Co-codamol won't help you withdraw from the Trams but instead just delay the withdrawal process since they are both opiate related. The symptoms you feel now could be an allergic reaction to the Co-codamol in addition to withdrawal Symptoms from thre Trams.
Avatar f tn Hi I have been taking the co-codamol for about 6 months. they are the 500mmg I suppose standard strength for here in the UK. The tramadol I don't think should be an issue as I hardly ever take these only now and again. I would of thought if I was allergic I would come out in hives but they just seem to keep me awake and when I do dose off I wake myself up scratching usually my arms or head ???
Avatar f tn What is co codamol. I have never seen nor heard of it. I am also a migrane suffer. Thought I had tried it all as far as the headaches go...
Avatar f tn Hi all. My doctor has prescribed me 8/500 Co-codamol tablets as I suffer from bad joints, a rare form of migraine which mimics a stroke and have wisdom teeth coming through. I can't take any other medication for the conditions I have but; he has said only have the Co-codamol if you really need it. I've been taking them every 6 hours since yesterday and am worried how long I should continue if my pain doesn't subside?

Avatar f tn I have been taking 8/500 co-codamol tablets since Christmas. I don't take the full daily recommended of 8 per day every day, but do take a certain amount per day (never any more than the recommended dose) when I do not take the co-codamol I start to feel very unwell and extremely agitated. My doctor said I cannot be physically addicted as I am not maxing out every day, but this does not explain why I feel so unwell when I stop taking them.
13837385 tn?1446041015 A side effect of co-codamol can be Dysphoria - which is a profound state of unease or dissatisfaction. In certain individuals Dysphoria may accompany Depression, anxiety, or agitation. It appears that what you were/are feeling may be related to the drug. However I'm not convinced that what you are feeling is totally related to Co-codamol. You haven't shared with us if this is ordered by a physician for chronic pain - or if you are taking this recreational purposes.
Avatar m tn i was prescribed co-codamol 30/500 and now i am being prescribed zapain 30/500 capsules instead. the zapain are not killing my pain as well as the co-codamol did? Are they weaker?
Avatar n tn I am suffering with a prolapsed disc pressing on the nerve and currently awaiting an operation, I have been trying to cut down on tramadol as it is just not suiting me, but I have now realised that I have done it too quick, I have also been taking Co-codamol, diazapam, volterol and amitriptiline. All apart from diazapam (still taking) I have cut down too quick, I have been for 4 days suffering with nausea, pain in the neck and respiratory area and have fear of falling over when I stand up.

Avatar f tn Forgot to mention that she is also taking tablets ( omeprazole 40mg daily, tramadol 50mg 4 times daily and co codamol 4 tmies daily) and she has a sore mouth due to loss of teeth and has been experiencing trouble chewing her food, because it hurts to do so.
Avatar f tn Hi. I'm 22 and have been on co codamol for just over 2 years. I take 8-10 tablets each day. I've got the doctors tomorrow and i don't know if i should ask for more tablets to wean myself off them or go just go cold turkey? I've tried to get off them before so i kno what i'm going to have to go through and i'm really not looking forward to it!
Avatar f tn Please don't take any more OTC co-codamol. They contain a lot less codeine but each one you take will make you're withdrawal symptoms last much longer. The natural amino acid 5HTP will help with the symptoms, calm you down and help you sleep. Valerian Tincture is also very good at helping you sleep at night. Both of these are safe, non habit-forming and available online or from any good healthfood shop. I would get rid of the OTC co-codamol now.
5894884 tn?1386969571 I had a major headache today which wouldnt budge and almost required me to ring in sick. The only pain relief meds we had were some co-codamol and I'm worried it could harm my baby as I didn't really want to have to take anything, nevermind something so strong.
Avatar f tn I started taking co-codamol several years ago for a leg injury. When I first took the painkillers, I felt absolutely amazing. I have always suffered from nerves and anxiety and found that the drugs made me feel so relaxed and took away all of my worries. Since then, I have been going to my doctor on and off, trying to get co-codamol and making any sort of excuse I could to get them. If my doctor wouldn't prescribe them, I would go to another doctor.
1413972 tn?1305579764 constantly now n when the pain does feel like its gone abit - i get an achiness instead but still hurts a touch! docs tired me on co-codamol - 30mg n then tramadol 50mg - but nothin seems to help. nothin... ive got an other appointment on thurs - he did say go back if not worked so i am lol. .. why questions are? 1) has anyone else been like that? nothin seems to wanna work. 2) wat else could he give me - takin in to account that i suffer from seizures.
Avatar f tn I finally broke down n told my mam last night n she took my to the GP who previously put me on co codamol 8mg, 56 weekly, obviously this did not work as I panicked n the rest is history. Whenever I've cut down to the 8 mg tabs before I ended up not well over a day later but I'm not sure whether that was due to withdrawal or paracetamol overdose. Now my GP has put me on pure codeine 15 mg x4 which my mam is giving me daily.
Avatar m tn ve just filled by repeat perscription (120 co-codamol 30/500) i picked them up about 6 hours ago, and im 8 tabs down, and contemplating another 4, my addiction started off the same way as so many others i've read on here, bad injury many years ago resulting in strong painkillers, and i was fine with them for a long long time, but one day, i slipped and hurt my knee in work (knees were the root of the original pain) and i couldn't afford to go home, so i took 3, just to try and get me thr
