290532 tn?1308136770 Starting suboxone seems like a really drastic measure to get off the tramadol. You're better off coming up with a taper plan with your Dr. and slowly wean off of them. I quit tramadol cold turkey so I can't offer any experience with tapering. What does the Dr. who prescribed the tramadol think?
Avatar n tn A strange tiredness and heavy feeling came over me, i was sweating, my skin was crawling, i kept getting a weird feeling in my back which made me tense up constantly and sleeping was impossible. My girlfriend had to travel over 100 miles to pick me up to give me the tramadol again, after a while i felt fine. Since that time i have been scared to death of ever running out of tramadol or my doctor stopping them. The withdrawls are so bad.
Avatar n tn ve been taking this drug a long time, but Tramadol is kinda tricky as it contains an SNRI quality to it. Not to offend, but do you drink at all? If I were you, I would get myself to the ER tonight! Please don't suffer another minute or day with these hallucinations. This is nothing to mess around with! Please check back in to let us know how you're doing. We're here for you.
Avatar f tn Yes you will get addicted to the tram as it is just as easy to get hooked on it as anything else opiates.I would not take it and if you have to slow the taper down because it is completely counterproductive to use tram to detox from hydro. Best of luck to you and you can do it!
Avatar f tn 00 today. My friend took me to get all the stuff on the Thomas recipe. I hope this works I wanna get clean. Would it be safe to take a sleeping pill at night?
Avatar f tn Hi RJ, I don't think there is a painless way to get off Tramadol, but slowly tapering off them will be a lot easier. I'm currently doing a tapering down from 700mg and currently on 200mg, each time I went down 100mg or 50mg I went through a mini withdrawal for 2-3 days, I have tried last year going cold turkey before I relapsed, and it was a kill 7-9 days, could not function. With the taper I can function go to work and do a 45-55hour week and still meet up with friends.
1315055 tn?1294367046 Hi, i have been on tramadol for a year and a half now and really wanting to get off these. everytime i try not to take one i start feeling very sick. I always have to have one right when i wake up otherwise i cannot function. I have only been taking 4-5 tramadols a day. Does anyone have suggestions on how to go about getting off these pills.
Avatar f tn My partner has a history of severe depression and following an industrial accident 2 years ago has been left with neck, wrist and knee injuries. He is waiting for 3 operations to get him back to good health. He is unable to work and is not the type of person to sit about and do nothing! Hence this has brought about depression as well as severe pain.

Avatar m tn Okay...he gave you 15,300mg pills to take once a day for 15 days? This is to avoid withdrawals? It MAY be okay...I'm going to get someone with tram experience on here though. I don't mean to go against your doctor at all. I see the picture here. Hang on... V.
Avatar f tn t realize how intense the Tramadol was going to be so thinking I needed to take more to make me feel anything I started off by taking 4. I realize now how much that is cuz when my sister takes just one she's good to go. I had surgery so I had to take more, but after I was all healed I had no reason to take them anymore. Then I realized that they cured my Insomnia. If I took a few a few hours before I wanted to go to bed i'd be able to lay down and go to bed with no problem.
Avatar f tn Thank you all for your feedback. It sounds like I'm going to need to get another script to wean off with. I've got enough to last until Saturday and I don't want to get thrown into severe withdrawal again. I will keep you posted. I definitely need some support with this.
Avatar m tn I do have experience with the tramadol but never had this kind of side affect. I agree that you should talk to your doctor about this to be safe, before your surgery. Good luck to you . . this will bump up - hopefully you can get some more feedback from others that may have some experience with this.
Avatar n tn t know what is right for you all I can do is share my experience. I used tramadol to help me get off of loritab four years ago and I am still trying to get off of tramadol. I planned to quit cold turkey on Monday when many people here advised me to taper because tramadol is more dangerous to get off of. So Monday my taper plan begins. I find withdrawels from tram much harder. I have only had to withdraw a couple of days here and there on both. Just don't rush into that.
Avatar m tn Also, it is my understanding the Tramadol should be tapered off of. It sounds like your plan to cut to 1/2 a pill is good! Stay on that for a while and then it should not be that difficult to jump off! I would think that you would have minimal withdrawal symptoms! Please check out the Thomas Recipe, the link is at the bottom of the page, for things you can do to relieve the withdrawal symptoms! Do you take the Tramadol for pain? Are you getting it from a doctor? Do you still have pain?
Avatar m tn Have you discussed this with your doctor? Tramadol needs to be tapered. How many do you take a day?
1909146 tn?1326505708 I was very upset, because the wound was big and deep and I wanted to go home. Than - I relapsed.. meaning.. I took a whole oxy at once to get high.. not to just "not feel sick".. I am really dissappointed at myself.. I can see that this is not going to be as easy as I thought. But I am back on track today and determined to taper down.. I took my doggie to the emergency room today, they cut the glue out and cleaned the whole thing and gave her stitches..
771211 tn?1236784171 i would like to know from anyone that might know...is tramadol harder to kick than coming off of lortabs?? i take both tramadol & lortab...4 or 5 pills each every day. i'm also taking xanax...i really would love to get off of everything, so my life can be normal again. i guess i'm really more addicted to the xanax...as bad as i hate to admit it. can anyone help me???
Avatar f tn hi rogue, I too am on a taper from tramadol after 10 yrs at high doses. you are right to want to quit. you are already way ahead of most people because you told your doctor. if she still says it isn't addictive then print out some info from the internet regarding the psychological side affects as well as the physical side affects and take them to your doctor. if you can come up with a taper plan with her help it will be much easier for you than trying alone.
Avatar m tn My wife has been having serious headaches lately and the doctor prescribed her Tramadol. Can anyone tell me if Tramadol makes you high like Vicodin? I do not want my wife taking it if it does. She seems to have taken a liking to Vicodin. Once I got my addiction under control, its as if she wanted to start vicodin on a regular basis. I can't explain why, I just know that she seems to have like it and that is why she has asked the doctor for a non narcotic.
Avatar m tn he is not one to take any kind of pill, and I read on here how difficult it can be to quit, if you get addicted to it, so I was glad to see that he didn't take it, and it got tossed when I quit hydrocodone.
