1909342 tn?1321993880 I am concerned, when to start taking Tramadol again or going with the combination of Ibuprofen and Paracetamol instead, since Ibuprofen also has an effect on inflammations. Am I taking to much? What would be appropriate here and how much would be 'healthy'?
Avatar f tn Yes, Tramadol is a centrally acting atypical opioid analgesic. And as you know Codipar is an opiate as well due to the codeine. What makes Tramadol "atypical" is the SNRI effects. Using paracetamol WITH Tramadol can boost the pain benefits ....but the dr that called you must not think it is safe.... or necessary to be on these TWO opioids at the same time. I would ask the dr who called you to assist you in getting off one or the other.
Avatar n tn So since yesterday, my GP replaced the Co-codamol with Tramadol (50mg) and Paracetamol (500mg) to take regularly (at least 3 times a day, more if needed) and so far the pain seems slightly better (not great but better!). Above is just my own experience and not a medical advice for anyone to follow! Please talk to your doctor or Pharmacist first.
Avatar f tn Hi, I take Tramadol for my chronic back pain. Initially my pain Dr. did not want to prescribe Tramadol for me since I take Effexor for depression. But after taking so many pain meds, and needing to try a new one, he agreed to let me try Tramadol slowly. The Tramadol has worked well for me, and luckily I didn't have any problems with the combination of drugs. Actually the Tramadol has really helped my mood ( I think because of the snri). So I have started to taper off the Effexor.
Avatar f tn If you're on suboxone can you take tramadol short term for pain? Or do you need to stop the suboxone? Anyone know?
Avatar f tn Paracetamol has weak anti-inflammatory property and is generally not classified as a NSAID. People not tolerating NSAID, do well on paracetamol. However, do ask your doctor.
1159380 tn?1262617042 He seriously needs to cut his volume down as the amount of paracetamol hes taking is way too high - max is 8 tablets per day - 4g paracetamol-hes taking 12g - 3 x the safe dose. There are tapering methods or cold turkey which is quite ok with codeine. There is the Thomas recipe that will help too. The hardest part is him wanting to! He could be causing irriversible liver damage from the paracetamol.
Avatar n tn ve seen a lot of patients (im a nurse) be prescribed tramadol and paracetamol together - or tram and a NSAID - but never tram and an opiate. Be careful.
1688492 tn?1346364370 I have been taking tramadol for over 6 months now due to RLS. It's the only medicine for pain that don't make me sick. Is it ok to take it? Does anyone know or been on it? Thanks!!
Avatar f tn ve been taking a tramadol at night to help with the post surgery pain when lying down and normal paracetamol during the day. I feel bad taking it but my dr assures me paracetamol has been considered safe during pregnancy for 50yrs and tramadol for 20 or 30yrs. Not sure about viccodine but if it was prescribed I'm sure the dr would have weighed up the risks and benefits and explained any side effects.
Avatar f tn So we rushed to the hospital again and after checking and giving him a jab, they still give him only painkiller, but this time paracetamol 500mg with tramadol 50mg. He was feeling alright the whole day, until now, (11pm the next day). Gave him paracetamol 500mg with tramadol 50mg and rubbed the ointment around his chest area but he still couldn't sleep and couldn't move much because of the pain.
Avatar m tn This is because taking too much can cause serious problems. With tramadol and co-codamol ( paracetamol with codeine), these are often used to relieve painful conditions where paracetamol alone is not sufficient, such as for muscular pain or nerve pain. The presence of side effects will depend on the dosage and time you took the medicines. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn You could try taking an over the counter painkiller containing Paracetamol with the Tramadol. A doctor told me that it’s safe to do and that Tramadol actually works better when taken with Paracetamol. The fatigue you mentioned when you stop taking it is likely to be at least partially due to the letdown you typically get when you suddenly stop taking it after your body has become used to it.
Avatar n tn In the grand scheme of things, 200mg a day isn't very large in the Tramadol world. Tramadol is a weird medicine to withdraw from. It carries most of the same opiate withdrawal symptoms plus more pronounced psychological withdrawal symptoms (Tramadol messes around with seratonin levels in a different way that most traditional opiates). Tray and pronlong the taper as long as you can...in other words..go down 50mg and wait until you normalize...then reduce another 50mg.
Avatar f tn I drank everyday to excess for years. My doctor has prescribed Tramadol for pain. Will this endanger my sobriety? Nothing else helps the pain. I don't know what to do. Will I be safe? Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn I usually take two paracetamol how many should i take now I'm 3 weeks pregnant
Avatar f tn Do any of you lovely ladies suffer with SPD? I spoke to my doctor last week and he said all I can do is take paracetamol and rest. Paracetamol doesn't even kind of touch the pain, and I work in a shop so I'm on my feet all day. I've got a midwife appointment on 3rd March and then she will potential refer me for physio. Just wondering if there's anything anyone else can suggest trying in the meantime?
Avatar f tn Few random thoughts, some perhaps useless: Liver is not such a small organ, and I'm thinking here, they can't possibly biopsy every part of it to check for abnormalities... Maybe ultrasound first? A biopsy should be avoided at almost any cost. Hydrocodone, if pure (without paracetamol), is not that liver-unfriendly. Maybe try and drop tramadol. Doesn't the hydrocodone cover all the things tramadol does for you? Unless baclofen is really beneficial, I would drop that as well.
Avatar f tn 5mg of tramadaol HCl, whereas tramdol alone (brand name Zydol) is in multiples of 50mg. Tramadol is much stronger than codeine or dihydrocodeine. 50mg of tramadol is pretty much the same as 10mg of oral morphine, so to say that it is not narcotic is stupid and ridiculous! Hope this helps!
