Common Questions and Answers about Tramadol in uk

Avatar n tn Is cocodamol a medication in the U.S.? I've never heard of it and I think I remember someone from Europe mentioning this in a conversation about pain meds, so I'm thinking it's not an American thing. Tramadol is a funny thing, and it causes some people to have seizures. I'd be very careful taking it with anything until I had actually spoken to a pharmacist first. They'll give you the best advice when it comes to meds.
Avatar m tn i started taking tramadol about 2 years ago for pain, and now if i run out i get really bad withdrawels, its like having the flu but a hundred times worse, i know i am addicted, i need too know if there would be a rehab for tramadol addiction in uk? im not sure if there will be as its not heroin or any other drug like that, its just a pain killer, if there was a rehab place for it then would i have too stay there for a few days or would they just tell me to cut down slowly?
1830782 tn?1318496076 Unfortunately in the uk we can get very little over the counter at the pharmacy. I have been given some anti-sickness pills and at the moment they are helping a little. I am still in pain from my knee replacement and at the moment I am having second thoughts about having the other one done! My GP is thinking of weaning me off the Tramadol and then replacing it with another drug....
Avatar f tn 5mg of tramadaol HCl, whereas tramdol alone (brand name Zydol) is in multiples of 50mg. Tramadol is much stronger than codeine or dihydrocodeine. 50mg of tramadol is pretty much the same as 10mg of oral morphine, so to say that it is not narcotic is stupid and ridiculous! Hope this helps!
Avatar n tn I get all my DHC online from the UK, and there are many times in which I run out and take tramadol to mask the withdrawal. I used to get a great high off tramadol (at the time better than any other opiate high) but now it simply keeps physical withdrawal at bay. However, I go through a pretty big depression and will lay in bed for days until my refill comes in the mail.
Avatar f tn Yeah in the uk, I'm not sure oxycontins what they easily give. In France, you're talking codeine or tramadol. Tramadol doesn't o a lot for me, and when I used to be on Effexor, I ODed so never touched both at same time again ( serotonin syndrome thing) ...I don't bother with paracetamol. Ibuprofen and aspirin hav given me stomach ulcers. Only codeine does the job. But it's addictive. What's OxyContin exactly?
Avatar f tn In the UK, do they check for dilation? Only really heard it done in USA, and I'm 37 haven't been checked so far!
7874959 tn?1395945321 Hello, I too live in the UK. I have arthritis in my spine and early arthritis in both my hips. At the moment I am in severe pain. Ibuprofen did not help me as it gave me an internal bleed. I refused spine injections, and I do not like taking strong painkillers. I take paracetamol and try to keep supple. I have always liked walking, but lately I cann ot even do that comfortably. Been crying today with the pain.
Avatar f tn Seeing this site has been a huge eye opener for me (and a source of hope) - the pain relief medication that most of you have access to is way beyond what I have been given in the UK. I only take 600mg of Tramadol and 3600mg of Gabapentin. I used to take dichlofenac but had to stop because of ulcers. I've asked for morphine but my doctors are reluctant to give it to me.
Avatar f tn Hi TP and welcome. I also have fibro and was in pain mgmt for years to deal with the pain. While I don't have specific experience with Tramadol you are correct in that it is every bit as bad as detoxing off opiates. How old are you and when your doctor says you will have to be in pain mgmt do you really feel he/she will manage your meds responsibly?
Avatar f tn There are more medications that are much more effective in treating pain. You are in the UK, so I do not know the protocol with pain management with your doctors. My best advice to you is go to your doctor and let them know that your pain is not being managed well. Ask what your options are. If your current doctor is not helping you, it's best to go and get a second or third opinion. Not all doctors treat pain fairly. I wish you the best of luck.

Avatar f tn I have got the butt pain but it's more my hip I have trapped. Nerve in my hips and have sciatica I am having baby no.
Avatar n tn It is absolutely the reason for your constipation. I was never constipated in my life and after being on tramadol for just a week it happened, also had a hard time urinating as well. Had to stop taking it. I work for doctors and the one that put me on it said it was highly unusual but the doc I work for said it is a side effect. I know a few patients who reacted the same way. See if there is something else you can take. Best of luck to you.
Avatar f tn Hi all hoping for some advice. I was prescribed both Tramadol & Gabapentin for sciatica im on 2 x 50mg of tramadol 3 times a day so 300mg total and two x 300mg three times a day 900mg total of Gabapentin. Ive lost a lot of weight which has pretty much cleared up the sciatica. Thing is these last few days I've felt really depressed and low, this is what started me to think and look at this stuff almost pulling me to take more and i really dont want to, i want to come off them.

Avatar f tn I have it and I am on Tramadol based tablets, these are not working for me I am also on Zoledex which gets injected into my tummy once a month for six months I am also on Danazol which I take once a day. If there is anything stronger for me to take (I am in the UK) please let me know!
544292 tn?1268882668 s not the most alarming part of Tramadol in my case. In my case the antidepressant that they tacked on to the cocktail is the thing that causes all the rough psychological and mental symptoms. It's a Two Fer One! I've been feeling like I was going crazy for a long time. And in addition to that; the scary suicidal ideation. The suicidal ideation vanished and returns ONLY if I get a flare up of withdrawal symptoms. That happens if I get over stressed. So i need some coping mechanisms.
Avatar n tn i just did some more research on tramadol and it's very confusing.right now it is not listed in the controlled substances act,but they do say it is an opiate-like drug with less dependance than lortab.i can hardly believe this as i've read many posts on this med.
