Tramadol generic for ultram

Common Questions and Answers about Tramadol generic for ultram

ultracet

Avatar n tn Hi, My handle is TrickyTrammie for a reason. Tramadol is the generic equivalent of Ultram and this is my SECOND time kicking this stupid little pill. It is not a opiate, per se, but a synthetic. In other words, man took his queue from the opiate, tweaked it, improved it, but doesn't want to admit he can not create the perfect drug. So, the answer to the question is Yes, it is addictive and should be given a very wary eye.
880900 tn?1467270141 I always wondered why Tramacet was more costly than the other tramadols .... WAY more costly. Hmmm. Just give me generic old tramadol ... I can add the acetominophen all by myself (if it's really needed)!
Avatar m tn Ultram is nothing more than the Brand name for Tramadol and Ultram ER is a timed release of Tramadol. Ultracet is merely Tramdol and Tylenol in the same pill.
Avatar f tn I looked online and found out that Tramadol ( a generic for Ultram 50) will help it and it has no side effects. I told my doctor and he prescribed it for me and it works wonders! I take it about 2-3 hours before I go to bed. I have restless leg real bad. I used to control it with a glass ofmilk and a banana every night but it progressed beyond that. Try it!
Avatar f tn ve just come off tramadol (Ultram is brand name and tramadol is generic and Ultram has tylenol in it) ..... and after 21 days I only now have a feeling that I am NOT going to die and that I am going to get my life back. Ultram/tramadol withdrawal is hellish. I really feel for you. The Thomas detox REALLY helped me out. I have writen alot about Ultram/Tramadol in my journal and the process of withdrawing and getting OUT.
Avatar m tn And though avisg is also correct that tramadol is not normally prescribed for RLS we are all different. What works for one does not necessarily work for another and visa versa. Who knows why it successfully controlled your RLS symptoms. That is not important. Your concern is justified. What now? Your physician hasn't added an antidepressant to your medication regime has he? As you know they can make the symptoms worse.
Avatar f tn Hi - BlueCrystal You are not correct on this - Ultram and tramadol are the same. Ultram is the brand name; tramadol is generic. They ARE both addicting - Ultram was the original medicine before it became available as a less expensive generic. And the original idea was that this drug was not an addictive, narcotic - that has turned out to not be true. Many people have serious problems trying to stop.
Avatar f tn I was put on it at that time for back pain (it was Ultram then, before the generic Tramadol came out a few years later). For me it was not such a great pain reliever per se, but after using in (at prescribed doses then), I found it just made me "feel better", like I could pretty much do anything. Had the Super Mom syndrome going for a few years.
Avatar f tn Tramadol (ultram) is for any kind of pain, not just cancer-related. It's actually pretty mild on the narcotic pain med scale. Tramadol can be taken by humans and dogs. It's a synthetic "look alike" to opiate-based medications. Docs love this stuff because it's supposed to be non-addictive. It didn't take long before people started showing up in rehab addicted and going through withdrawal.
Avatar f tn Degenerative disc pain. Doctor said Ultram.....What do you guys think? If not Ultram any ideas for pain management?
680303 tn?1239984840 So it seems to me that if the combination of Tramadol and MS Contin worked for you in the past that it may be the best selection again. Hopefully others will post with their suggestions. Some times weekend are a bit slower than week days.
Avatar f tn I am taking methadone 5 mg tablets 3 times per day and Ultram 100 mg in the morning, 50 mg in the afternoon and 100 mg extended release in the evening. The reason for the mixed up dosage on the ultram is I am trying to get off of the extended release due to the cost. The problem I have is that before when I was taking 100 mg Ultram ER twice a day with the methadone as listed above my pain was controled, but since I have tried going down on it I have pain all the time again.
Avatar f tn My exp. with Ultram for fibro pain was not so good. I had spasms like never before for a few days then I began to have siezures and my side of my face was numb and droopy, like with a stroke. I have spoken to people that have great success with it . I hope you do too. Just be cautious what signals your body sends you.
Avatar f tn I used to use tramadol (generic for ultram) to keep w/d at bay as well, but when I ran out the w/d from those were worst than if I had went straight into from opiates, so I don't do that anymore, even though my dr would fill those in a heartbeat for me. You may experience some w/d but I wouldn't think they would be as severe since you got the opiates out of your system...although our bodies remember for a long time the addiction and can pick up where we left off very quickly.
Avatar n tn Don't take the ultram/tramadol. I was addicted for almost 3 years to the stuff. I'm 20 days ct. Look up the thomas recipe, it has helped me. Some drs are misinformed about ultram.
Avatar m tn I took tramadol for 7 years. Yes....It's a tough one to come off of. 180 tablets is most likely enough to get you into trouble with it, especially if you've been taking other pain meds. Opiate receptors aren't that particular about the specific type of drug you are taking.....Switching drugs will help the withdraw symptoms, yes, but only a little bit in the beginning. My advice to you is to get yourself a better Doctor. They are out there.
Avatar m tn If someone were to take Tramadol/Ultram for pain and addiction was a concern, then it would be best to not use it for more than one week. It seems that is often a cut off point that people can get addicted if on a pain reliever for 1 full week or more. Or use as needed, sparingly knowing that addiction can surface. And yes, backhurtz speaks of mood issues. We never know how we will react to a medication. BUT, are you in debilitating pain? What is the status of your back pain?
406036 tn?1216188561 I was able to control the dose combard to the the Ultram. Ultram is the same as Tramadol except that you only take one pill with Ultram...and you have to wait for results. While you are severe pain, that is a long time to wait especially since vicodin and tramadol works faster. Since you will figure that out, you will find yourself taking more ultram just to make sure that you can have the least amount of pain possibe. I felt myself taking another Ultram because the pain was blinding.
Avatar m tn Hi. Obviously you know the badness of tram......but you're in a bad situation. You need off of heroin too, right? Yes. If I were you, I would speak to a doctor about some other meds to help support you during WD. You won't have them for too much longer. A few more days at most. The tramadol WD can last for weeks. Are you trying any of the Thomas Recipe stuff? Some of the OTC things help a lot with the symptoms. What is the worst symptoms so far? Nausea, RLS???
