Avatar n tn With my first baby I had restless legs while pregnant...now that I'm pregnant again it has came back...is there thing I can do to not have it...it's only when I go to sleep and I'm not getting the sleep I need to be getting..
Avatar m tn My doctor said restless leg is from low Ferritin.
Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed Sinemet (generic name: carbadopa/levo) 25/100mg each night, and I no longer have restless legs. I've been taking it for about 4 years now, and as far as I know, I don't have any negative side effects from it. (I know you said you prefer to balance yourself without pharmaceuticals, but if you don't find a way to do that, the Sinemet really works for me.) Sleep is SO important.
Avatar f tn Oh, and for restless legs, try the Highlands Restless Legs supplement and eat bananas for potassium. Take hot baths in Epsom salts. Believe it or not, but walking helps too. I have also read that members here have wrapped their legs in gauze.
Avatar m tn And though avisg is also correct that tramadol is not normally prescribed for RLS we are all different. What works for one does not necessarily work for another and visa versa. Who knows why it successfully controlled your RLS symptoms. That is not important. Your concern is justified. What now? Your physician hasn't added an antidepressant to your medication regime has he? As you know they can make the symptoms worse.
Avatar f tn I guess I am using this board for emotional support, as these last two days have been very hard physically and emotionally. I have been on tramadol for the last 4 years for severe migraines. Whenever I would try and go off them I would have severe restless legs and insomnia...and that would be my driving force to refill that prescription and start taking the pills again. I would only take 4 pills a day and that is how it was prescribed to me.
Avatar f tn meds for restless legs. Hope it helps!

Avatar m tn I have a prob with percocet and most everyone on this site does too but i NEVER downplay tramadol i know how bad it can be.
Avatar n tn s per day, I have been off of it for 6 days, but my questions is when does the restless legs and the non sleeping go away, I haven't slept more than an hour or two at a time in several days, Thanks for the help,
Avatar f tn I felt really good all day long surprisingly on only 3 pills. Once I just took my 4th one, I am getting the restless legs now really bad. Why is that? You would think they wouldn't come just because I took another dose. Anyway, for those who are new I tried to quit CT Sunday night and that was a nightmare. The worst night of my life and I cannot even come up with words to describe how terrible I felt.
Avatar f tn ve been on tramadol for almost a year for restless legs and this is my fear!!!
Avatar f tn I have taken Tramadol 2 times a day for abt 8 months after being diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I got tired of taking it so I have decided to go cold turkey. Its just day two and I am miserable. My legs are giving me a fit. I can't explain how they feel other than they are just so weak and weather I am laying down, walking or sitting, they ache and feel like restless leg syndrome.
Avatar f tn I am miserable my whole body is stiff and my legs are so restless I cant stand it. My husband is extreally supportive which I am greatfull for but support doesnt take again my pain, and hes never been though anything like this. I really need some advice from people who have. Thanks!!
983592 tn?1249762935 I know I for sure am addicted to Tramadol. I find though that it helps with my RA and my restless legs also I don't feel so down on myself for having RA flares and it makes me happy. There are so many side effects with this drug!!!! First of All, it makes me teary if I go too long without it not becuase I think about it or anything, its just been too long I guess. Second, I think it makes me retain water. 3rd. It makes it very hard to have a orgasism. 4th. It makes me constipated.
Avatar m tn Tramadol is a tough one. Since you took it for so long you probably should have done a slower taper. Anyway it may take a couple weeks to get your sleep back and the RLS to go away. Try eating a banana everyday....theres something called Hylands that OTC thats helps with the legs. A long hot bath before bed could help too. Good luck.
Avatar n tn I know for some the wd's from tramadol have lasted quite awhile. Hopefully someone who knows more about this will be on..... Congrats on 30 days!!!!
Avatar f tn For the pain I took Motrin and for the restless legs I took a warm bath with epsom salt which helped to relax. The cravings will be tolerable but your body is now asking for tramadol and it will take time for the body to know that it doesnt need it. Thats how it was for me. My only suggestion is take it one day at a time or even one hour at a time, drink water and eat as tolerable, stay connected and get as much info on your road to recovery.
1688492 tn?1346364370 Ok so I have restless leg syndrome and now that I'm pregnant it's worse like 100 times worse I ain't slept good in 3 nights when I work I have attacks, I'm so miserable. If u don't know what this is it's something that affects ur legs at night but for me it's all the time I cNt sit to long and guess what I have a sit down job!!! Here is the thing I take tramadol once or twice a day to deal with the pain and to b able to sleep at night.
Avatar m tn I'm not sure...Are you tapering now? It just depends on what is "bad" for you. You will feel tired and lethargic for a few weeks. Have you read info on Ultram and tramadol? For the legs: There's a product called Hylands Restful Legs. It's at Walgreens' for sure and perhaps other stores. It helps quite a bit. Hot baths also soothe the legs. Sorry you're going through this...
Avatar m tn I had TKR last August and have been described Tramadol for the pain, although the pain is going I am still taking the Tramadol and unable to come off them. If I do not take them I have severe withdrawal symtoms, feeling agitated, restless, having at times severe headaches, my joints ache and my legs shaky. I am arguing with my partner and end up in a very emotional state. Is there any way that will help me come off of this horrible drug and are anybody out there experiencing these symptoms.
Avatar m tn I am starting to taper off tramadol. I woke up last night with severe legs cramps and restless legs. I was achey all over. So then I took a motrin, and that made my aches feel better , but messed up my stomache worse. I only took 1 or 2 50 mg of tramadol a day for 11 months, so I am so suprised at how bad I feel. Can anyone tell me what are good home remedies of medicine to help this out? for example is imodium ad good for the diareeha? Please, I am desperate.
Avatar f tn i have been clean from tramadol for 10 days now,but am having terrible 'irritable legs' at night when i try to sleep...it's driving me nuts,i have to keep getting up in the night and walking about' when i finally dose off it is not a restful sleep.my doc gave me 5 sleeping pills, which sort of worked, but they have been gone for over a week and i really don't want to get into pills again.
1695121 tn?1306419072 hi there, pain is a horrible thing to deal with and will bring you down if you let it, the best advice i can give you is WALK lol sounds weird i know but i have suffered MAJOR depression and anxietey and i swear by it, and for your restless legs, try going to a chemist and getting some flight stockings, they helped me a lot to relax and get to sleep!! hope this helps and good luck STAY POSITIVE!!
1474625 tn?1371097079 Also, I was wondering if anyone knows if it helps with the restless legs you get from opiate withdrawal or otherwise. I just stopped taking tramadol yesterday, which I was taking to the point of abuse because it gave me a feeling different from other opiates that I loved and gave me energy. I took this for such a long time that I was up to around 12 pills a day.
Avatar m tn I was into day two of detox when I finally gave in because of restless legs and arms. I just couldn't sleep. I have a three day weekend and finally want to get through this once and for all. All suggestions are much appreciated.
