Avatar f tn I was hoping that it somehow moved during that renal colic,Did you have a renal colic?or how did you discover your hydronephrosis?I hope it will go away on its on .Did they remove yours?
Avatar n tn The resulting obstruction with dilation or stretching of the upper ureter and renal pelvis as well as spasm of muscle, trying to move the stone, can cause severe episodic pain, most commonly felt in the flank, lower abdomen and groin (a condition called renal colic). Renal colic can be associated with nausea and vomiting. ref:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kidney_stones An ultra-sound scan will confirm the diagnosis.
1223946 tn?1281392358 HI there, I really feel for you. Renal colic is the most horrendous pain imaginable. I had renal colic for 10 months and I was climbing the walls at times. I have tried acupuncture for neck pain and it really works. The pain recedes for a while so i would definately give it a go. Also, have you thought about clinical hypnotherapy? Pain makes anxiety levels increase, which increases the pain and then it starts a cycle. Hypnotherapy is like a deep sense of relaxation.
Avatar n tn may b u can b diagnosed with renal colic...renal colic is heavy pain around ur stomach and flank region moving towards ur back...the radiation of pain is due to kidney stones..have a complete test over ur kidneys, urether and urinary bladder for stones...care should b taken at intake of water..increase the dialy intake of water...
Avatar m tn stones that small can pass through the urethra usually fine. The pain you are experiencing usually itsn't from the stone itself its usually from renal colic or hydronephrosis or swelling of the kidney/ureter. Its possible they could also be in the bladder.
Avatar m tn If you feel colicky renal pain, you should do a renal color Doppler ultrasound to check your kidney and ureter to see if there is kidney stones or ureter stones, impaction of a stone at any of these sites causes severe pain, known as renal colic, usually felt in the abdomen or side, and often tracking down to the groin
Avatar m tn There could be hematuria, blood in the urine when the stone is passed. The renal colic it occurs as episodes of pain recurring in nature. The pain is spasmodic in nature as the ureter is trying to push through the obstruction, which is usually a renal stone. The ureter is the tubular structure that connects the kidney to the bladder. So each time the urine tries to pass through the obstruction it causes severe pain.
Avatar m tn Hi hope this gets to u. I had Renal Colic which lasted about 30hrs,pain but amazing pelvic pressure, constant peeing, blood in the water and small clots on whiping. I know l passed a stone or stones as at one stage on peeing l felt really strong contracting like feeings in my uretha and looked down to see brown stains/streaks in the toilet. After that the pain and pressure to pee stopped, was only left with sore back/side like l had brusing which has since gone.
Avatar m tn The resulting obstruction with dilation or stretching of the upper ureter and renal pelvis as well as spasm of muscle, trying to move the stone, can cause severe episodic pain, most commonly felt in the flank, lower abdomen and groin (a condition called renal colic). Renal colic can be associated with nausea and vomiting due to the embryological association of the kidneys with the intestinal tract. Hematuria (bloody urine) is commonly present due to damage to the lining of the urinary tract”.
5160575 tn?1364509880 Hello and Sorry for the late reply. It may not be related, the bowel movements and problems with urination. Gas can get trapped if there is an obstruction to the bowel or if the mobility of the colon is impaired. The pain could be renal colic. Small stones can obstruct the passage of urine and when the body tries to 'push' against the blockade this results in colic, which is severe attacks of pain.
Avatar f tn I have been on Tramadol for nearly 16 years. I now a SG test which is abnormal, 1.010, which indicates renal damage. I have no family or personal history of kidney disease or diabetes. I began using this drug as a "safe" alternative to opiods because of surgical steel, wire, and screws in my left elbow. I am slowing going off this drug and will never use it again. A SG reading such as I have is very serious.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your comment. I'm sorry you were in horrible pain, too. Renal colic is not fun. The only thing that helped me was percocet. Take care.
Avatar m tn Yeah it usually is and I wouldnt delay getting to your doc/hospital, however if you have no luck and its not that then consider, renal colic and kidney stones, gallstones/gallbladder as well as much more rarely a thoracic disc herniation at t8 to t12 would be overlooked by most docs as so rare.. I had the same thing and it turned out that I am in the one in two million people with thoracic hernations pressing on the nerves that innervate the right abdominal area!
Avatar n tn Normally it is the function of the kidney to eliminate excess creatinine from our body and maintain the normal levels. Normal value for creatinine is upto 1.2mg/dl. When renal function is hampered by infections, stones and renal failure these parameters raise. As your history suggests that you were suffering from ureteric colic, due to which there might have been urinary tract obstruction and mild renal functional derangement.
1310468 tn?1274863925 It can be a bad case of acidity, renal colic due to stone or colitis. Please consult a doctor immediately. Take omeprazole and antacids and see if it helps. Take care!
1394098 tn?1385960134 You can pass a kidney stone not a gall bladder stone, its unlikely. This could be renal colic. Small stones can obstruct the passage of urine and when the body tries to 'push' against the blockade this results in colic, which is severe attacks of pain. Please check with your doctor to rule out this condition. In the meantime take OTC Naproxen for pain relief and plenty of oral fluids. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn If the pain starts at the back and goes down to the front of the abdomen, it could most probably be a renal colic. This happens when urine is trying to pass through an obstruction usually a stone. But this pain is very severe and colicky. Other causes for pain could be peptic ulcer disease and GERD. You will need to consult your primary care physician for proper evaluation of pain and therapy Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn The most common cause for this type of severe pain which starts at the back just below the rib cage and radiates to the front and goes into the pelvis is 1. Renal colic. It occurs as episodes of pain recurring in nature. The pain is spasmodic in nature as the ureter is trying to push through the obstruction, which is usually a renal stone. The ureter is the tubular structure that connects the kidney to the bladder.
Avatar m tn All medication questions are question for your doctor. No laymen can tell you what medications may be safe for you. Each person's cirrhosis is unique and needs to be treated on an individual basis. A lot depends upon how advanced your cirrhosis is and what if any complications you have from your cirrhosis. Only your doctor know the true status of your liver disease or any other conditions or disease you may have.
