Avatar f tn m on for Rheumatoid Arthritis. Both Hydrocone/APAP and Percot/APAP work for me as good as Darvocet - better actually because Darvo gave me stomach problems.
Avatar f tn I have Hep C and arthritis - my doctor has prescribed hydocodone/Apap for the arthritis. Should I be taking this? Is there a pain killer that will not damage my liver? Also my doctor had prescribed Enalapril for hypertension. I don't think I should be taking this either..... Does anyone have any suggestions as to medications I can take for pain relief and for the hypertension that will not do further damage to my liver?
Avatar f tn I requested that decrease b/c I knew the rebound headache issue with taking too much APAP. He then said I would start the tramadol taper- 1/2 pill every 1-2 weeks. I have tried this and even dropping 1/2 tab is giving me horrible anxiety, feeling sick, ect. Plus I want to get off of tramadol ASAP, although I realize I need to not drop off too quickly due to seizure risks. (I am taking my Rx dose of 4/day and have been for approx 18 months).
Avatar m tn Would I be setting the w/d back if I took one 50 mg tramadol? Not looking to get high just want the pain to go away. I don't want to do anything to set back the w/d but the last couple of days have been headache hell.
Avatar f tn I have been prescribed vicodin for years and recently prescribed tramadol for chronic neck and shoulder pain, doc thought it would be good for my condition. so i stopped with vicodin and I took tramadol abit the middle of the month of June, maybe 3 pills (50 mg each) for 3 days. I didnt notice a difference in my pain and I just felt weird so I didn't take anymore and day or two later went back to vicodin (maybe 1500mg/day). Then I thought I will give tramadol a fair try.
Avatar f tn If you do decide to try to keep her around a while longer, whatever you do, PLEASE DO NOT GIVE HER HYDROCODONE WITH APAP IN IT. APAP is the generic term for TYLENOL, and nothing will kill a dog quicker than tylenol or advil. It will cause severe bleeding in their stomach and is almost always fatal. If you must make her go on for more time, talk to your vet about a fentanyl patch for her, however if the $2.40 a pill is expensive, the fentanyl patches are going to be ridiculously expensive.
Avatar f tn My brother is on welfare and the doctors at the clinic have given him the following meds. Tramadol 50 mg, Trazadone 50mg,Amitriptyline 10mg, cyclobenzaprine 10mg, Hydrocodone/APAP 5mg/500mg. In addition he was also given medication for Diabetes Type II, metformin 850 mg, glipizide 5mg, lisinopril 5 mg, simvastatin 20mg, Asprin 81 mg, Ranitidine 150 mg. Additionally he was also prescribed Naproxen 500mg and Alumina Magnesia 360 ml. I think this is too much medication. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn I've been taking Fioricet (generic) for 20 years not and I have been ordering it on the internet so far wthout any problems. But today, they sent me Tramadol and I don't really know what the difference is. I am so use to apap/butatbital/caffeine so I really pissed of that I got this drug that I have never used and don't know how it will affect me. ALso I think this is a totally different drug.
Avatar f tn My dr. gave me tramadol apap for my neck pain until physical therapy fixes me. I have been taking it but I read that it can cause seizures. Prior to giving me that she had given my hydrocodone which after about 2 months of that I told her I didn't want to keep taking it b/c of how addicting it was. So now here I am. I am feeling kinda hot and sweaty but other than that I am ok. I assume that it is some kind of withdrawl from the hydrocodone.
Avatar f tn I think there has been enough research on tramadol HCL (without APAP) to suggest that everyone reacts differently to the drug. Personally, tramadol 50mg tabs (not Ultracet which is a tramadol APAP) was my solution, or should I say, salvation to liver compromising APAP alternatives that were total agonists. Some people taking tramadol HCL claim to have horrible withdrawl symptoms worse than total agonists. I find that hard to believe, since partial agonists have less potential for addiction.
Avatar n tn Three weeks later, she received a preparation containing codeine and APAP. After ingesting 14 g of APAP over 8 days her INR increased to 8.5. A prospective, case-control study (3) of 93 outpatients (196 controls) measured factors associated with INRs > 6.0. APAP use was independently, and in a dose- related fashion, associated with having an INR > 6.0. The odds of an INR > 6.0 were 10-fold higher in the highest dose category (28+ tablets/week).
Avatar f tn I take 5 mg of oxycodone every 3-4 hours for the really severe pain. I'm in pain 24/7 unless I'm laying back sitting absolutely still. At first I took an oxy/APAP, but the APAP made me so very nauseous and dizzy that I requested a med without APAP.
Avatar m tn ve taken the butal apap w/ caffiene off and on for the past two years then switched to the butal apap w/ no caffiene. I have taken between 4-6 tabs per day for about six months and want to stop as I think I'm headed for trouble. Thank you.
Avatar n tn can you take a generic medicine called hydroco/apap , if you take coumadin?
Avatar n tn Probably not an ideal situation to take meds that are expired.
954920 tn?1254429338 Yes you do want to taper but you are on a very high amount of tylenol. I really think you need to talk to your doctor. The tramadol does not have APAP in it. unfortunately they are stronger that's why I really wish you would have a doctor help you .That would get the fear of liver problems off your mind and you can just concentrate on getting of the tram .
Avatar n tn the 10 is the amount of opiate the 650 and 500 is the amount of APAP which is aceteminaphin/asprin. damges your liver.
Avatar f tn There are only two reasons you may still be having pain -- either your new dalily dose of HC is lower than you were getting with Vicodan, or the acetaminophen (APAP) was having more of an effect on your pain than either you or your doctor realized. Check with your doctor on this, but doses of up to 4 grams of APAP per day are safe and not hepatotoxic unless you have liver impairment. (4 grams is equivalent to 8 x 500 mg tablets).
Avatar n tn Why is isometheptene/apap/dichlphen(MIDRIN 325 MG-65 MG-100 MG CAP) not available anymore?
Avatar f tn ve posted before, I think I may have done some liver damage from taking opiates with apap and acetominephen in them and have decided to try the liver flush this weekend with the apple juice/Epsom salts and olive oil thing ( been eating holistic diet and supplements last four weeks). Has anyone tried this or heard about whether or not they are useful or safe?
572713 tn?1237094902 I hate ultram/tramadol but I was on it for chronic back pain and am withdrawing now. Not addicted, but dependant and w/d for me ... is a long slow walk thru hell. The good news is that my back pain is so mild now. Because the Ultram/tramadol causes pain eventually. Drugs turn on ya! I will send my brightest and best thoughts for your healing!

614661 tn?1267273924 From postings and studies that I've read, there are no long term affects from the APAP in percocet(I'm assuming that's what you're taking, correct me if I'm wrong). So long as you don't go over the 4,000 mg daily. Let me know if you have other questions.
