Avatar f tn So i went to my Doc and told him what was going on and asked him if there is anything out there not addicting and he told me Tramadol is not. I was on Tramadol for 7-8 months and they did not do as well for pain as the Vicodin did also felt very detached from everything. Of course i ran out one day with the Tramadol and was now up to 6tabs. daily. I went in severe whithdrawl could not sleep stay warm keep warm and the shakes. Went to the clinic my Doc was out and talked to someone else.
Avatar m tn Thanks for the responses guys. I started using the tramadol the day after running out of Dilaudid. I would normally feel a little uncomfortable after using Vicodin 7.5's, running out, and then using the Tramadol. After a couple of days, however, I always felt like I would be fine with just the Tramadol. Of course, when I would get access to the Vikes, I would just justify it and say that I have the Tramadol when I run out so why not just use them and feel a little better.
1351870 tn?1277732421 Ok.. lol.. thanks :) I don't know anything about tramadol. All I know is it's not narcotic and can ease withdrawal symptoms. Sounds like it would make another problem altogether.. aye.. I wish there was an easy, painless way to detox!!

216046 tn?1193943404 This very old thread is about Tramadol and Lyrica. I almost didn't see your comment - and doubt others will see it at all. If you wish to make a comment to be seen on the web when searched - and to be seen by our members please start your own thread. Click on "Ask a Question" it's simple to do. As for your comment, there are variables and this subject needs much more than a one-liner. It's complex.
Avatar m tn Do not substitute Tramadol for hydros. Tramadol is extremely addictive and some here have said they are more difficult to withdrawal from than some other drugs. You can find many threads about the Tram withdrawals. I would just stay the course the way you are now. It will be difficult for awhile, but SO WORTH IT!!! Good luck and you are in my prayers!!!!
Avatar m tn As some of you know I'm an addicted to Xanax and I'm working in my tapering off of this benzo, but I had also taked as prescribed, Vicodin 5/500mg and Tramadol 50mg for over a year. I don't think that I am addicted to these opiates psychologically, never took more than prescribed the Tramadol( twice daily) and the Vicodin when I had migraine-which happened to be 3 or 4 times a week, yes.
Avatar m tn Since I started to wean off my Xanax addiction I quit taking the Vicodin and Tramadol, except for 1 day had bad migraine and none Imitrex pills, my insurance only covers 9 pills and paying them is more than 200 dollars. The point is that I do not feel side effects or W/D effects from quitting the Vicodin and Tramadol. It this possible? I didn't even knew Tramadol was an opiate until I joined this community.
4753943 tn?1359934569 I saw her toady and she has my list of meds. She put me on TRAMADOL for intense back pain (as needed), Cymbalta for the pain management and anxiety, and she knows I'm currently on 10mg Adderall for ADHD. Should I be worried? I'm not up for landing in the ER...
Avatar f tn please talk to your doctor right away. do not replace vicodin for the tramadol. your doctor will give you a safe taper plan. you can not go cold turkey while pregnant it is dangerous.
Avatar f tn Tramadol is a syntheitc opiate. You probably will not feel ANY withdrawals when you stop taking vicodin and swtich to Tramadol. It fills your opiate receptors in your brain just like vicodin. You won't go thru withdrawals because you are essentially continuing to take opiates. Tramadol is more addictive and the withdrawals are worse. In my opinion, stop while you're ahead. Do not take tramadol, and stop taking vicodin.
464393 tn?1206755395 Because tramadol effects the reuptake of nuerological chemicals, taking your first dose of opoids to be tramadol should help to reduce the depressionary effects of withdrawing from tramadol. Vicodin has many of the narcotic properties of tramadol and is a suitable substitute. 2. After 2 weeks of doing this, use only vicodin for all opoid doses. The following week, reduce your opoid dose by 20 percent, then the next week another 20 percent and so on.
Avatar f tn You are correct about there the MAJOR drug interaction between tramadol and sertraline (Zoloft). Please note that there are several moderate drug interactions with your medications, for example, sertraline (Zoloft), pregabalin (Lyrica), clonidine, and methocarbamol (Robaxin) all can increase side effects such dizziness, drowsiness, and impaired thinking and judgment when taken together. It would be a good idea to review your medication regimen with your provider and pharmacist.
Avatar f tn tramadol is a non-narcotic pain reliever and you can only take up to 350mg a day otherwise if you take more it is just disposed of in your liver and is wasted....tramadol covered mostly all the WD symptoms for me and i took it for about a week and a half straight and i didnt have any trouble leaving them cold turkey. now it does different from person to person on how much it takes them to get addicted but its worth a shot...
Avatar n tn i also have not had any typical withdrawl symptoms from stopping the vicodin. i have degeneration of my t3 and t4 vertebre and spinal rotation and of course subluxation. i have had 2 diagnosises and both times the prognosis was long term chronic pain. i have blood work done every 3 mths and it has always been normal. i am worried that the tramadol and ibuprofen could damage my liver. i only take 7.5-750mg vicodin. wouldnt it be better to just take the vicodin again?
Avatar f tn Please don't take Tramadol!!! I've been taking it for 6 months and can't get off. Before i started taking it, vicodin worked so great for my pain...now if I take a vicodin it does NOTHING for me because I take such a high dose of trams! with trams like most pain killers, you usually have to continue taking more and more to get it to keep working for you. Some people say it does nothing for their pain but it does help mine.
Avatar f tn Hey guys Peaches here, haven't posted in a LONG time but I have been really working on getting off the vicodin. I was weening myself felt kinda crappy for a couple of days about a week. I found myself back at the doc for more vicodin but I got tramadol. Its seems to last longer but it doesn't give the same effect so I just took two a day. I found two vicodin hidden away and I took them one day and they didn't do anything!! I felt achy and tired the whole day.
Avatar f tn m out of vicodin and then unleash all at once.
Avatar f tn I was thinking about trying st. John's wort for depression. I take tramadol for a knee alignment issue. I currently take 100mg-200mg about 3 times a week. I know there is an interaction with st. John's wort due to the seratonin increase they both cause. Am I able to take the st. John's wort on days I don't need the tramadol? If not, how long should I wait to take the St. John's wort after taking the tramadol and when would I be able to take the st.
Avatar m tn I also ran an interaction checker on all three, Tramadol, Hydroxyzine and Synthroid, Synthroid produce no interaction with the other two, al though I di get a "Moderate" Interaction on Tramadol and Hydroxyzine as below: MONITOR: Central nervous system- and/or respiratory-depressant effects may be additively or synergistically increased in patients taking multiple drugs that cause these effects, especially in elderly or debilitated patients.
Avatar m tn I was taking 60-80mg of hydrocodone a day during that month and a half period. Would taking Vicodin weaken my body and prolong the withdrawal process from Zoloft?
Avatar m tn I'm on zoloft and I sometimes take my moms vicodin/percocet for pain and I'm just wondering is it safe to take these combinations together? Basically: Zoloft+Vicodin= safe? Zoloft+Percocet= safe? Will the Vicodin or Percocet decrease the effects of the Zoloft? OR can it cause permanent brain damage? I took 2 Vicodin's a couple days ago and then took 1 Zoloft pill an hour later and I started to feel weird/loopy. Could I have caused permanent brain damage?
Avatar n tn s together and be fine, for that matter you can take methadone and heroin and be fine. Is Tramadol supposded to be like Naloxone?
Avatar n tn I've taken both Vicodin and Tramadol, it depends on your level of pain. Tramadol was working pretty well for me until I ended up having a reaction to it and had to stop. I was getting dilated eyes from the medication and the doctor had to put me back on vicodin. So, it's definitely worth a try, I wouldn't automatically not try it, some people do very well with it.
