Avatar m tn I have had a hydro addiction in the past..for back pain and not rls tho..i also take ambien and hydro was by far the greater of the 2 evils..sure ambien can be abused but is not physically addicting...but it is dangerous if abused...guess hydro is as well..i am the type that desnt abuse everything i touch tho and i am still at the same dose of ambien for sleep...2-3 mgs that i was 10 years ago...was not that way with hydro cos my tolerence grew over the years..
Avatar n tn Although the hardest part has been the lingering mental issues after the physical parts were over. Anyways look into the health pages about RLS and they have all kinds of things you can do that hopefully can offer you some relief. Best of luck to you, take care.
401095 tn?1351391770 My friend who quit lortabs 10 days ago with me continued on tramadol and just quit that on Wednesday..last night she said she has this feeling like bugs are crawling on her feet/like tingling...Is that RLS and how long does it last? I told her I would ask...
Avatar m tn I have been taking tramadol for three and a half years for a severe case of restless leg syndrome. It has always worked well for the rls symptoms. My problem is I am now taking 400mg a day and the medication is no longer working. I tried tapering and the rls was raging I couldn't sleep or work. At this point I don't know what to do. My doctor wanted me to try Norco but I feel I would be in the same boat. I am an alcoholic with twenty nine years of sobriety.
410406 tn?1209480659 If you are only taking one a night though, and can keep it at that good for you, because it will help you sleep and also help the RLS. Congratulations!
Avatar m tn So went back home, the day after to my GP and I had Tramadol (4 per day), Amitriptyline ( 1 before sleep) and Dicoflenax 75 (2 per day). I was not able to walk for days and even sleep was difficult and for more than a week I could sleep only seat on a chair with a pillow on my leg, elbows on the pillow, my head in my hands. But I had no RLS until about 10 day ago. In January I had a couple of night when I slept for 12 hours without interruptions.
Avatar f tn Help! Last night was horrible! About a week and a half off tramadol and last night was my first night with no Ambien:( I took melatonin and maybe slept an hour total! I had horrible RLS all night, does anyone else get that when they take melatonin? I felt fine all day and as soon as I took it and laid down, my legs started in BAD!! All morning today I was sooooo tired and drained, now that I finally have s chance to nap, I'm awake!!
Avatar m tn There is a user on this board that had very, very bad RLS..basically her entire body all night long..bad. And she uses Hylands and it basically went away. She recommends taking as much as you can until symptoms subside (more than the box states..just keep taking them under tounge until you relax). In her case, after a couple nights of doing just this the symptoms went away entirely. I had a case of mild RLS the other night and yes, it did work.
Avatar n tn If you are speaking about heroin then they will give you a lil relief from the anxiety and Maybe a lil from the aches, Eventually stopping using these you will still go thru wd and depending on how long you use the trams you could go thru wd from them and they have a antidepressant effect therefore the reason they help with anxiety but much harder to come off of. There are natural drugs you can take that would help with the rls anxiety.
Avatar f tn This will be the fifth time I am going CT. I tried it last month and got so tired from no sleep and RLS and arms were driving me crazy, so I gave in when a "friend" called me and bought some Lortab 10's. I now have no more resources, either for more pills or money, so here I am again, getting ready to go c/t. I was wondering if you can use tramadol to get through the first 5 days without getting addicted to them. Just use them to help with sleep and RLS.
Avatar f tn Ultram or Ultracet is usually what is prescribed for tramadol and with that only 37.5mg of tramadol is in those tablets. So 50mg of tramadol is considered alot according to "me". My doctor said the EXACT thing. Small dose. Do you know he even told me that I could take more and for alot longer BEFORE he would be concerened. Well, I took his word on that and upped my dose to 6 a day..2 in am, 2p, late afternoon and early even. Ya know..to spread out the good times.
Avatar m tn My legs are TORTURING me. I'd be great if it wasn't for that part of the withdraws. It kills me and I have kids so I HAVE to sleep! I've been off tramadol for 2 wks and I figure it would be easing up by now. I remember when I was little and my legs would hurt at night sometimes like this. I wonder if I actually have RLS and have been on the pills sooo long that I didn't know it. Please give some feedback on how long ur RLS lasted if u had it....tysvm!
Avatar f tn Tramadol is a synthetic opiate and just as hard to detox from. I really DO NOT suggest that at all. I really think that you should just stop as all you are doing is prolonging the inevitable. There is no way to avoid the withdrawal and although it is not pleasant, it is very doable. Are you taking any supplements to help ease the process?
Avatar f tn I'm 27 days off vic's, off an 8-year habit, and I still have tingling in my arms, sometimes legs. It's not consistent, just sometimes, and occasionally it feels like I'm getting little electrical shocks. I never thought of it as nerve damage, but you may be onto something.
Avatar m tn I was just wondering if anyone knows if RLS is a symptom of tramadol withdrawals - I have heard of the cold sweats and insominia and depression but I have not heard of anyone mentioning the jumpy RLS like symptoms during sleep that are so common with opiates. Does anyone know if I can expect that? if not, what is the insomnia like? I find it is better when I know what to expect.
544292 tn?1268882668 Hi Tramadol Warriors, Many people have come here for many years, giving support and getting support. Because I still believe that Tramadol is unique in it's ... terror and torture of humans, this thread continues. The people who can understand what you are going thru are the people who have kicked it and there's people here who come back to lend a hand. You also will never need an understanding ear as much. You can do it. You can quit. You do not need to be a slave to Tramadol.
Avatar f tn I have had this for 5 years and just 2 years ago started taking Tramadol it was given to me for a spained neck, but while on it I noticed my RLS went away, my doc saids I can stay on it as long as needed as it is not addicting, and no side effects, I hope you husband getsa better but I agree I do not believe it goes away unfortunately, take care
Avatar f tn t believe anyone has mentionned gaba, yet it is supposed to be a sleeping and calming amino. does anyone know if it helps? i am thinking rls is a brain thing and maybe there is an amino for it.
Avatar m tn I also take Tramadol and Ritalin which is also part of this treatment as well as for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. And then is the 1 mg of Xanax that I take at bedtime every night... also for 13 years. This all came after being in a bedridden state for 3 yrs. These perscriptions were all perscribed by one dr and for the treatment of such. I never abused them and even at times did not take them it symptoms were not present.
Avatar m tn Anyway it may take a couple weeks to get your sleep back and the RLS to go away. Try eating a banana everyday....theres something called Hylands that OTC thats helps with the legs. A long hot bath before bed could help too. Good luck.
Avatar n tn I beg to differ about low it on I'm on the highest iron pill and still have rls.
Avatar m tn t have many in my possession. I just gotta get my crap together and let it go once and for all.
1039436 tn?1255523662 I went thru that 7 day with absolutely no sleep. So exhausted but you can't hold still. All you want to do is sleep but you can't hold still so you get up but you are so exhausted you can't walk so it up and down and up and down. I still fear the night. I psych myself out when night time comes. I have never had hallucinations before, but the sleep deprivation got so bad I actually did and felt like I was having a break with reality. But finally sleep came.
Avatar f tn t concentrate and feel generally jumpy and unbalanced. i am getting concerned about the effects of low dopamine on my personality. i have a feeling there are more effects, perhaps irritablity, etc. i want to know how to balance myself naturally and not take pharmaceuticals. i think it has a adrenal insufficiency component also. any information or experience is very welcome.
Avatar f tn years perhaps if u stopped it suddenly but not a few months of use....what is ur dose of tramadol? and have u taken any other narcotics? RLS is caused by the sudden cessation of narcotics, parkinsons disease, unknown reasons as well....it is caused by a lack of dopamine in the brain....if u have been using a prescibed dose of tramadol for only a few months//i would talk to my doctor as this can be serious if it is not caused by narcotic wd..something that needs to be addressed...
