tramadol and oxy

Hi keetzy, I came off morphine 1 1/2 years ago and the withdrawal made me very sick for about 6 weeks. And I have also been on and off tramadol quite a few times. At the moment I'm taking aprox 200 mg of tramadol a day, along with Tylenol 3's. I didn't find tramadol addicting at all. I don't go into withdrawal if I miss a dose.

I ABSOLUTELY got a high while taking Tramadol. In fact, it gave me a sense of well being that Oxy couldn't even touch. And, it's this emotional antidepressant effect that makes it such a bear to withdraw from. You're at about 110mg a day now. That's a dose that would be handled with a cold turkey withdraw with just a few days of "bad" withdrawals and a couple of weeks of feeling moderately bad. Instead of using the Tramadol, why not just consider jumping off now?

and an addict as well...and i HAD to choose btw oxy or hydro verses tramadol/I would choose oxy or hydro cos at least there is some sort of pain relief available/only for a while due to tolerence...but trams are so weak as far as pain control peeps pop many to provide relief//and in the meantime their brain becomes addicted///plus narcs can be stopped CT as a rule safely...trams can not due to seizure risk with abrupt cessation/they must be tapered...too much risk for lil or no pain control....

If you are having them and taking tramadol, you need to get medical attention. How many do you take a day? Are you getting them from your doctor? If so, get in to see him tomorrow if you can. Tramadol is dangerous and hard to get off of. I got off of them over a year ago, and I would rather ingest poison than a tramadol right now! That is how bad I hate them! They're evil!

I have hit the 7 month mark free of tramadol ,I also realized I spent 345 days of this year tramadol free ,for some of the newer member's I came here last April when I was detoxing from tramadol ,then I had a 20 day relapse in aug , I went back off the first few days in sept. So it can be done .....Never doubt that you can get clean if I can everyone can as well.

She had me flush the Tramadol immediately.

Hey all, trying to honestly quit. About 24 hours into it. Couple of questions-- 1) I've used ~200mg/day of Oxy for the past few months (before that about 100mg/day for three years with the exception of one 17 day break in December), however in an attempt to quit for good, over the course of the past week, I've tapered down to about 30mg/day and I kept it there for quite a few days before quitting yesterday.

Yes, I have experience. And I got addicted to tramadol. You can have a seizure if you take too much of it too. The thing is that the WDs are the only way to get free of the oxy. You can take tram for the WDs, but when you stop the tram, you will have to go through them then! There are things you can do to help the symptoms without getting another addictive substance involved. Good luck! You can do this! You will get a lot of help here.

Sometimes the drugs that appear to be the mildest are actually more addictive because a) they're easier to get a hold of b) you can take them and people can't tell you're buzzing as much and c) you're told they are safe! I have never taken tramadol but these guys know their stuff.

Congrats!! I hope you can keep it up. Do you take the trams alot or on occasion? I know every body responds differently to meds and withdrawls and I'm just hoping mine aren't as bad as the perc and oxy? How could they be?

I just left a 2 hour interview in which I was very alert and talkative and almost felt normal. Could this have been from the Tramadol I took 4 hour earlier or could I be seeing some of the last of the WD;s. My bio is also hardening up. Today was the first day for that. (before I took the half of tramdol) I did not sleep well last night tho.

I went to a detox a few weeks ago for Tramadol and Vicodin withdrawl. I admitted myself and only stayed there 3 days. I thought I was ok... but it only took 4 days before I was taking again. I am only up to 2 vicodin and 1 tramadol a day right now. I want to stop it all together but I do not know what to do. They gave me Ativan there and it seemed to work for me. All I did was sleep a lot. I did not feel the flu like symptons. I have ordered Ativan online so I can do this myself at home.

Tramadol is very addictive. It likely will not give you the "high" that the Norco and Oxy do but I'm here to tell you from experience that Tramadol is addicting.

I do physically have a very dependent nature and have suffered both hydro and oxy withdrawels before. Can anyone give me any incite? Thanks.

I have stuggled forever with addiction - I have been clean from oxy, and Alcohol for over 2 months now - but I know I am addicted to tramadol and benzo's - tramadol was the "non addictive" drug my Dr put me on when I told her about my addiction to oxy - the benzo's I have been using forever to sleep - I just never thought about it being a problem - I take a bunch at night to sleep.

Near the end of my Oxy withdrawals I fell into the Tramadol trap,(i thought i would just use a few to aleviate the remaining withdrawals symptoms from the Oxy) but I got hooked and took more then the prescribed amount. I have only been on it for 10-11 days. I was going to do a 1 week taper but the anxiety thinking about it was too much. I talked to my dr and she thinks we can safely taper over a longer period of time. I go in to see her on Wednesday.

I am risking my health, my relationship, financially I am in trouble, and I have already received a letter from the RCMP (Canadian police) wanting papers at the boarder - they have stopped one of my tramadol orders - so legally I may be in trouble- everything at risk. It is like I am systematically destroying everything good in my life - all for this damn pill! I have been on tram for over 3 years - given by my Dr - to help me kick my Oxy addiction - tram being non addictive after all.

I have had restless leg syndrome before when I was off Oxy for a day and I could not stand it! Will Tramadol help with restless leg syndrome? Any suggestions to help ease withdrawl that I suspect is coming soon would be appreciated.

Tramadol IS addicting. It may not have the same properties that Oxy and Vicadin have, but it's addicting nonetheless and prone to misuse. I also have severe carpel tunnel. I'm scheduled for surgery on both wrists on 1/21. In the meantime, my dr. has prescribed gabapentin for me. It's used as both an epileptic anti-seizure medication and nerve pain. I found that it really does help the pain and it's not a narcotic.

Hey guys - just a quick question 'cause I keep reading conflicting advice on this drug- does anyone here have experience with tramadol w/d? I've been taking about 500-1000mg/day for about 7 months and and going through the beginning stages of cold turkey withdrawal. Am I in danger of having a seizure? Also- I've been through a pretty sh#tty oxy w/d a little while back (80-100mg/day) - I'm really trying to figure out what kind of hell I'm walking into?

I find it hard to believe the doctor would be helping me taper and quit the hydro and oxy, but then get me hooked on something else. I'm pretty much physically dependent, and somewhat tolerant to the hydro, but am really working to quit the opioids because I found myself liking the buzz even when the pain was minimal. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi there You said you were taking oxy and tramadol. How much of each were you taking? If you were taking tramadol daily you should think about tapering it. Let us know.
