Avatar f tn No! There is nobody! It's just me & my 3 young kids! I honestly don't want them!! I am hoping I can manage with Motrin & Tylenol.. They are going to give me Tramadol but I'm going to try not to even fill the script..I want to keep my clean time so bad!! That's why I told the dentist I had a problem with hydros & percs so do NOT give me that!!
Avatar f tn I was given flexeril and tramadol for muscle spasms due to herniated discs. The tramadol did nothing for the pain, I was able to receive some relief from motrin instead. I can't take stronger opioids because they make me nauseous. Morphine doesn't work for me either. Are the two medications related?
Avatar f tn I have been off tramadol for about 30 days and tapered down to 1/2 bill of fiorcet a day. I am having extreme back soreness and just general lousey feeling. Has anyone experience prolonged soreness??? I was a heavy user for about 8 years.
Avatar n tn So you should not take a pill from a bottle that says Motrin and another pill from a bottle that says Ibuprofen. Remember these are the SAME. The answer to your question, why is Tramadol not working is simple, it is not strong enough to control or ease your pain. There are also other muscle relaxants that may be more effective for you. I highly suggest that you contact your PCP and inform him of your pain. Again if you are extremely uncomfortable you should go to ER to obtain pain relief.
Avatar f tn good morning all, dont know if many of you were on yesterday when i was inquiring about taking tramadol to cope with oxy wd...i took the tram...50mgs and i will say it surely ddi not get me high my legs and stomach were really bad last night but this morning im okay.....
Avatar f tn Do you have a rx for tramadol? I am thinking no or you would not be asking this question. Tramadol is addictive and if you are already on Sub you do not need to get addicted to another medication. Try tylenol.
Avatar f tn Via-BlackBerry 8530- I have been abusing lortab 10/500 for about 5 months. (10-15 a day). I have a script for 15-50mg tramadol. Should I use the tramadol to help ease the lortab comedown? Will it even help? Or should I go cold turkey? I've read other posts about tramadol, and don't know which way to go. I do know I want my life back, and I can't afford the down time of the painful withdrawls I get. Experienced advice would be greatly helpful.
1213000 tn?1280463161 These pains were controlled with Motrin -- prescribed at 800 mg three times a day. Now I am on Plasurgrel (new blood thinner) and diltiazem for BP and the doc says "No Motrin, No Nexium, No anything" for the other pain. Ok, I don't want to die but how do I handle the pain? I do not want narcotics.
Avatar f tn Tramadol and Tylenol are not the same as Tramadol is an opioid as well as acts as an SNRI. You should google Tramadol and read about it before you take it or call your doctor.
513154 tn?1340225289 I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!
Avatar m tn I AM SO ACHEY AND VERY TIRED OUT OF BREATH. TAKE MOTRIN I TAKE 3 800MG A DAY FOR THE ACHES AND PAIN. LOTS OF WATER TO CLEANSE YOU, AND EXERCISE. NOW I KNOW THATS THE LAST THING WE WANT TO DO, BUT IT HELPS, WE GET THAT SERATONE THAT WE GET FROM THE OPIATE WHEN U EXERCISE. YOU DONT HAVE TO DO MUCH. IFS IT EVEN A 7 MIN WALK, DO IT SO YOU CAN SLEEP AT NIGHT.
1078559 tn?1255957403 I went through hell with both severe caffeine withdrawals on top of the tramadol cessation. Severe nausea, severe headaches and a feeling of depression and disconnection from my normal moods, interests and activities. I also had been taking tramadol off and on for around 2 years. My normal dosage was 8-10 50mg. tablet daily. I have stopped both this and the soma cold turkey.
Avatar f tn Way to go! It definately looks like you got your mind set. 16 days is fantastic! I'm on day 3 and I can't wait to say day 16 soon. I used tramadol because nobody had any other pill at the time. I'm day 3 off vicodin, morphine, norco, and tramadol and as vicki595 says, its a fake feeling. Although I didn't get the same high I got with tramadol as opposed to the others, I still was able to manage to get things done and be in a descent mood.
Avatar f tn Be patient with yourself and know that it will get better. I did the Tramadol withdrawal too. You are at the right place. Keep posting, you will get a ton of support and it is so helpful. You can do this. And I promise you will feel better than you can imagine when you are clean!
Avatar n tn I realized 2 wks ago that I had a problem with being addicted to the medication (calmed me and gave me a sense of well-being.) I went off it "cold turkey" Went thru classic symptoms, but was wondering, how long can it take to feel "ok" again-grounded and not spaced-out? will it take longer than 2 wks for me, since I have been on it so long? My doc gave me tramadol to take for the cramps, but haven't tried it yet. Is it effective?
Avatar m tn Let me clarify something I said above: My doc prescribed the trams because the Tramadol literature says it doesn't produce a high. The drug companies continue to tout Tramadol and Ultram as "safe alternatives to opiates." Remember, Heroin was once sold in the same manner as a safe alternative to Opium. In my case it was indeed true that I didn't get a buzz, but I have read here that others did indeed get buzzed. Like I said, if affects everyone differently.
950394 tn?1261347338 I am Stage 1 Grade 1 and can take pretty much anything. I have tried Motrin, Extra Strength Tylenol, Excedrin and Aleve for the headaches I get from treatment. None of those worked, so I use Tramadol, a prescription. The condition of your liver is the key to what the real answer to this question is. Your doctor can best answer it. Good luck.
Avatar m tn Where does it hurt? Try the excedrin migraine first I've tried Tramadol for headaches and they don't help me but we're all different. Can it be allergies? Yesterday I had a BAD headache all day mostly at the temples and I took 2 excedrin migraine with an alleve sinus pill and it took it away. It's tough, I know your pain all too well. Is it a headache or a migraine?
Avatar n tn I never knew tramadol was addictive. In fact a friend of mine who abuses pills went to his dr. for pain, but she thought he was "drug seeking" and only prescribed him tramadol. He didn't even fill it and was mad because he was hoping for vic's. Why/how do you become addicted to it? Do you get high off of it? You learn something new everyday. Especially on this forum.
Avatar n tn ) I am still lethargic and achy after one week free and clear of hydrocodone and tramadol. One issue in particular is my hands ache and throb so badly (i take celebrex for arthritis) that just the mere act of typing on my computer is very painful. Please know how grateful I am for not only responses to my questions, but to all of you who are brave enough to spill your painful addiction stories to us so that we don't feel so alone with this.
Avatar f tn For the pain I took Motrin and for the restless legs I took a warm bath with epsom salt which helped to relax. The cravings will be tolerable but your body is now asking for tramadol and it will take time for the body to know that it doesnt need it. Thats how it was for me. My only suggestion is take it one day at a time or even one hour at a time, drink water and eat as tolerable, stay connected and get as much info on your road to recovery.
Avatar m tn I've abused tramadol as well in the past and that was only because I couldn't get a hold of other pills. Never had legitimate pain either, just get high. It is said that tramadol aka ultrum is a synthetic opiate with some antidepressent in it? so I imagine you will be going through withdrawals. You may have had a panic attack? The good news for you is you have help and as a nurse you are in the know yourself.
Avatar m tn So my doctor gave me Tramadol for the pain I've been taking it 4/5 times a day for the last 14 days this is my last day and i am worried about withdraws...
Avatar f tn I took tramadol for about a month after a surgery and now I am living with daily pain in both sides of jaw and back of head (base of skull).  Can tramadol cause that and does anyone know if it will go away...I'm miserable.  I can't even have a glass of alcohol socially or the back of my head starts hurting really bad.  I've tried a couple different muscle relaxers (zanaflex, parafon forte) and they didn't help.
Avatar m tn I've been on tramadol for viral pain for 2 yrs. On average 6-8 50mg pills daily. I stopped cold turkey 7 days ago because my pain had finally tapered off and left me. Or so I hoped. For the first four days I took one 10 mg dose of hydrocodone to reduce the discomfort which helped a fair bit. Im still experiencing insomnia, chills, runny nose and pain in my arms and legs. Is all this normal?
1394098 tn?1385960134 They said that if they did more surgery that I would probably would just end up with more scar tissue. Its a long way of saying that I have a back problem that cant be fixed and Tramadol is the best option that the Dr could come up with. It just makes it bearable. I would rather have the liver problems than to deal with nerve pain. Anyway, Im closely monitored on my usage. I have to get approval every month and a half for a new RX. So I dont over do it.
Avatar f tn You should have been sent to see a pain specialist who could have evaluated you and possibly given you a cervical epidural steroid injection which may have alleviated your pain. You can also have taken NSAIDs like Motrin and Advil during the first two trimesters of pregnancy. But now you are dealing with addiction that needs to be resolved before you deliver your baby.
Avatar f tn the painkiller and the AD. I started on Tramadol for back pain and took it as prescribed at first, but very quickly began taking too much as my tolerance built and I needed more and more of it to work. 15 years and 4 seizures (from overdoses) later, I finally quit and have been clean now for 5 months. This medication is dangerous and withdrawal from it is extremely hard; it does NOT let go easy.
