Avatar f tn Since you are on a considerably high dose of tramadol yes, the interaction is significant and can indeed cause serotonin syndrome, Also since Cymbalta is a potent SNRI. Was the tramadol prescribed with by a doctor knowing you were using tramadol as such high dose and vice versa? Reading that is serotonin syndrome on the internet won't improve your situation. I repeat serotonin syndrome is a medical condition that rarely cause trouble. If you experience fever then its time to go to the ER.
1578386 tn?1296256257 I can tell you exactly what the problem is as this happened to me. They had me on cymbalta (anti-depressant) and then put me on tramadol (the worst drug on the planet in my opinion) and the tramadol isn't only a synthetic opiate, it's also an anti-depressant - so there's a serious risk of raising the serotonin levels in your brain that can cause seizures (it's called serotonin syndrome).
376940 tn?1241682007 Hello iam new here I am taking tramadol 50 mgs, neurontin 300mg,hydrocodon-acetaminoph,a pain patch of 25mcg/hr and cymbalta 90 mg. And my Dr. Wants me to take effexor xr 75mg in lu of cymbalta (the cymbalta was given to me by a shrink for pain control) but I am told that effexor xr n tramadol don't mix.
Avatar f tn My doctor started me on 30 Mg of cymbalta which has progressed to 60 mg per day. I think it has helped but am experiencing some dizziness. Is it a drug interaction?
1810386 tn?1405549577 Amitriptyline and Tramadol is horible interaction leading to Serotonine Syndrome. Had it once, before surgery. any SSRI is evil with Tramal. brrrrrrr.
Avatar f tn More will be coming along in a few hours and their are plenty of people here who have experience with tramadol,as well as cymbalta and wellbutrin.Congratulations on getting off the narco and for making the decision to want to live a drug free life, thats great.....All the best...
216046 tn?1193943404 This very old thread is about Tramadol and Lyrica. I almost didn't see your comment - and doubt others will see it at all. If you wish to make a comment to be seen on the web when searched - and to be seen by our members please start your own thread. Click on "Ask a Question" it's simple to do. As for your comment, there are variables and this subject needs much more than a one-liner. It's complex.
Avatar m tn need to do own research) i stopped all med for 48 hrs and tramadol and prozac permantenly and immediatly began feeling better...i called my dr when i figured out what was wrong and her nurse said she (the doc) doesn't think i had that...i left her and every time i mention this story to docs i encounter they are blown away no-one helped me...
Avatar n tn I was taking Tramadol 50 mg. for fibromyalgia pain for approximately seven years, always prescribed by my physician. I fluctuated between 2-4 pills per day, but usually just 2 at nighttime. Last week my doctor put me on Cymbalta and told me that I couldn't take the Tramadol with the Cymbalta, so I discontinued the it. Ever since, I'm barely getting any sleep and I seem to be breathing shallowly. Even at this dose, could I be experiencing withdrawal symptoms?
Avatar f tn For neuropathy and other sensations I had relief with both Cymbalta and Lyrica. The only downside to the Lyrica was difficulty with cognition and drowsiness. Savella (milnacipran) is the new medication and it works much the same as Cymbalta...it is an antidepressant. As uk2 mentioned, the patches help with pain as well. My current treatment is with Ultram for both FMS and RSD and Trazadone for sleep. It's much a 'trial and error'...
Avatar n tn However, your other doctors are right too. There is no drug interaction between them, and so even if you become pregnant, there is not going to be any additional harm due to drug interaction. The safety profile of Cymbalta is not known for the unborn baby, hence it needs be taken with precaution in pregnancy. On the other hand Celebrex should be avoided during the last 3 months of pregnancy. Take care!
1185895 tn?1266608090 ) My doctor also gave me some samples of Cymbalta 30mg. I have not yet started on it. My question is are they safe to take together? What about side affects? I do not like the dizziness and weird ear "sounds" that I am getting on the Clonazepam. Also, I am currently on medication for thyroid(Levothyroxin) as well as blood pressure(Cozaar), and Propoxypnen-APAP 100-650MG(for my spinal pain). Should I start on the Cymbalta? Will it interact with my other medication?
Avatar m tn lower back & right leg pain NOT very consistent 2001 after 2nd pregnancy. lower back & right leg pain VERY consistent 2006 after 3rd pregnancy. 2007 the start of wanting to chop my right leg off every night from the constant pain. 2008 dr prescribed me every pain med to try what helps. Tramadol 50mg 1/3xs a day was the winner! later that same year got in 2 car accidents. 1st one was horrible. hit from behind on the highway, spun around, & flipped over a couple of times.
Avatar f tn You are correct about there the MAJOR drug interaction between tramadol and sertraline (Zoloft). Please note that there are several moderate drug interactions with your medications, for example, sertraline (Zoloft), pregabalin (Lyrica), clonidine, and methocarbamol (Robaxin) all can increase side effects such dizziness, drowsiness, and impaired thinking and judgment when taken together. It would be a good idea to review your medication regimen with your provider and pharmacist.
757597 tn?1315801812 Right before I read your post, I've been reading the Tramadol withdrawl thread under EmilyPost posts. I really suggest you read it and see what other users have experienced. At my peak I was on both Cymbalta and Lyrica (for three years) plus eight Ultracet each day (for three years). I've discontinued both the Cymbalta and Lyrica (and this wasn't pretty!) and I am on the Ultracet "reduction plan" - down to two per day.
1689696 tn?1305819097 Thanks for your comment! I ended up getting Cymbalta 30 mg to take at night and something called Atarax 25mg that I am suppose to take 3x's a day but I take as needed it is for the hives and to take when I get panic attacks.
Avatar n tn I ran a check on the ones you listed and came up with the interaction between Cymbalta and trazodone - it says there is an increased risk of serotonin syndorme. Some of the symptoms of serotonin syndrome are: Cognitive effects: headache, agitation, hypomania, mental confusion, hallucinations, coma Autonomic effects: shivering, sweating, hyperthermia, hypertension, tachycardia, nausea, diarrhea. Somatic effects: myoclonus (muscle twitching), hyperreflexia (manifested by clonus), tremor.
Avatar f tn I am reading on this site that that some have been through this with cymbalta I need my life back from tramadol. btw I have tried 12 steps and others ways and it does not work for me.
Avatar f tn I was thinking about trying st. John's wort for depression. I take tramadol for a knee alignment issue. I currently take 100mg-200mg about 3 times a week. I know there is an interaction with st. John's wort due to the seratonin increase they both cause. Am I able to take the st. John's wort on days I don't need the tramadol? If not, how long should I wait to take the St. John's wort after taking the tramadol and when would I be able to take the st.
Avatar m tn I also ran an interaction checker on all three, Tramadol, Hydroxyzine and Synthroid, Synthroid produce no interaction with the other two, al though I di get a "Moderate" Interaction on Tramadol and Hydroxyzine as below: MONITOR: Central nervous system- and/or respiratory-depressant effects may be additively or synergistically increased in patients taking multiple drugs that cause these effects, especially in elderly or debilitated patients.
796687 tn?1237333243 Continued on with both Lorozapam and hydrocodine untill about 6 months ago when the doctor suggested Cymbalta for the depression and took me off Tramadol. Don't remember a problem getting over the Tramadol that time because I think Cymbalta took up the slack. Used Cymbalta 30mg them 60mg for about 5 months and asked the Doctor to get me of of it. He said, 'go a week on 30mg and then take the Tramadol again...good luck! No, he actually said, "good luck." I was using .
Avatar n tn No added interaction. Make sure to bring full list of all medications your husband is on to each doctor's appointment as he may see more than one prescriber and make sure to show that list to them each time they consider prescribing new medications. Jennifer R RPH www.drugstore.
