Avatar f tn I am addicted to Tramadol from fribromyalgia pain and I ran out of tram and I had some left over hydro so I took some to help with restless legs and it did work a little, I know its bad but I didnt know what else to do. But my question is it safe to mix Vicodin with Advil pm? Its almost 1 am and I just want to be done with the day now, but I dont wanna get hurt or anything...
Avatar f tn s amazing to me that there are still doctors out there telling people that Tramadol is not addictive. Ultracet is Tramadol and Acetaminophen. Your husband is a WISE man to question this before he takes it! Congrats to him on 7 yrs Clean!!! If he is able to tolerate NSAIDS, he could take those or just acetaminophen (w/o the synthetic opioid, i.e. tramadol). I find that Advil Liqui-Gel Capsules work the best for me and there are generic versions of this too at Walmart or Walgreens.
Avatar n tn I am recovered from an 8-year tramadol addiction. I just had a root canal done and they prescribed Lortab. Can I take 1 or 2 safely for this pain?
502050 tn?1243602535 I don't have any idea. Don't know anything about tramadol, but just wanted to let you know you are so cool to encourage everyone the way you do. I hope someone comes by and gives you an answer on your question soon. Did you take tyolenol or advil or anything? Just a thought. God Bless.
Avatar f tn I took Tramadol as prescribed and became dependant very quickly which led to horrid discontinuation. It is ONE BAD DRUG! It has an anti-depressant in it which mixed with the opiad that is in it will hook you quickly. Don't go there, I am still suffering from its withdrawal affects after 8 months. It needs to be taken off the market. My PCP tapered me off but I suffered bad. She now agrees it is a dangerous medication.
Avatar n tn I USED TO TAKE VICODIN THEN THEY CHANGED ME TO TRAMADOL AND I HAVE BEEN ADDICTED OVER 10 YRS NOW. TRAMADOL IS NOT A NARCOTIC SO IT IS PRESCRIBED LIKE CANDY BUT IT IS VERY ADDICTIVE! SAVE YOURSELF THE MISERY PLEASE! AND YES TRAMADOL GIVES YOU A HIGH JUST LIKE VICODIN BUT MUCH LONGER. BUT U WILL HAVE TO TAKE MUCH MORE TO KEEP GETTING HIGH WHICH IS DEADLY! JUST DO NOT TAKE IT!!!! DR's DO NOT KNOW IT ALL! THEY EVEN TOLD ME THAT TRAMADOL WAS NOT ADDICTIVE HA SURE!
Avatar f tn kinda, I got some melatonin and a b-complex. Also immodium and some advil PM and Nyquil. Right now i'm kinda in a good mood. I hope it lasts, I was ready to cry not too long ago. Hehe, it's a good thing my daughter isn't old enough to think I'm a freak.
Avatar m tn Yikes, You really need to stop taking the Advil and find another form of pain relief. With Your Doctor being forgetful (old age??) it is in your best interest to find another Doctor. I don't know of any competent Doctor who would let you take that amount of Advil on a daily basis for that long of a period. Common sense will tell you that taking medication in that amount is harmful.
Avatar f tn I'm trying to stay away from percocet my Dentist gave me for Dry Socket but I'm in pain. I've been taking Advil but that's just not working. I got online to keep my mind busy and away from pain pills. Any comment or toughts on how to deal with this without having to turn to pain meds would be great. Thank you....
Avatar f tn Tramadol and Tylenol are not the same as Tramadol is an opioid as well as acts as an SNRI. You should google Tramadol and read about it before you take it or call your doctor.
1200016 tn?1265307508 I have been on this crap for 2+ years and am finally going to do it. I am quiting and am scared to death, at one time I was taking 20 50mg tabs a day. I also had a seizure on vacation last year. I need to know if there is anything I can get OTC to help. I have sleepaids and I have Advil, anything else???
1272082 tn?1343103540 What does anyone take for chronic pain issues? Also, what do you take when it's a severe pain--like a broken foot/leg that will be painful for a long time. The pain meds are making my POTS allot worse. I've tried Demoral with Phenagan and Tramadol. Tramadol is the least problematic, but is causing bad POTS issues. I tried not using anything, but can't take the pain. I broke all the bones and my ankles off. Have 10 screws and a plate.
Avatar n tn I am on day 7 of tramadol withdrawal, and still have body aches and general "don't feel good." Took 500grams per day for about 8 months. My question, is how much longer to expect withdrawals. I thought I would be much better by now, but I can only say I am about 50% better. The body aches come in waves. I will be OK for several hrs. then here they come again. The aches will stay with me for about 4-5 hrs. I will fell OK for 4-5 hrs, and than we start over.
Avatar n tn I skipped the Tramadol for a second time for a day and half and the soar throat returned. Instead of taking the Tramadol, I tried a few different tactics. I took some Dayquil and Nightquil (not at the same time of course) and that didn't help a single bit. Then I tried some samples of Allegra D that my Fiance' had because I thought maybe it was allergies. Once again it had no effect. I went back to the final few pills of the tramadol and again it worked miracles on my throat.
Avatar m tn I had both of my knees replaced and was put on Tramadol. I have been on Tramadol for 4 months at 50mil dose every 8 hours. I have gotten the dose down to 1 50mil a day, right before bedtime. At night my feet tingle like they are asleep, numbness along me legs, butt, stomic and lower back. Yesterday was my first day without anything,,after 5-6 tries. I feel like I am going to throw up with all the systems but the tingling part and normal body aces.
513154 tn?1340225289 I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!
8265858 tn?1403378544 So I was almost two weeks norco free but was taking tramadol when I got home from work and at bed time. Now I'm out of tramadol and I feel like I'm back where I started. The withdrawals have been super rough the past 24 hrs..what do I do now?
Avatar f tn yes i thought so, i mean im typically good with pain but i been vomiting alot and i need energy for my daughter and these migraines arent helping. Thanks lots, il still talk to my md but i know he will probably say the same thing.
Avatar m tn Welcome to the forum.....I noticed in your profile you were wondering if you could take Tramadol for your tooth pain while you were on vivitrol. In case you are unaware, Tramadol is a very addictive synthetic opiate. With an addiction history such as yours, I'd stay clear of Tramadol for sure and take an NSAID like Advil Liqui-gel caps if you are able. An NSAID actually works much better for the inflammation caused by tooth pain.
Avatar f tn Started to take a second one yesterday for a headache - had made an oath to one a day for about a week and then every other day, etc. Took an Advil instead for my headache. :) I know a lot about addictions due to friends and relatives and know that you can kid yourself pretty easily if you have that addictive problem. I know I can do it and, best of all, know I will feel much much better after I am off the stuff.
Avatar n tn I never knew tramadol was addictive. In fact a friend of mine who abuses pills went to his dr. for pain, but she thought he was "drug seeking" and only prescribed him tramadol. He didn't even fill it and was mad because he was hoping for vic's. Why/how do you become addicted to it? Do you get high off of it? You learn something new everyday. Especially on this forum.
Avatar n tn Also, take hot baths in epsom salts and take 800 mg of advil around the clock, every 8 hours. (If you can take it) Also, if you have RLS, get some Hyland's Restful Legs or Leg Cramps. They work GREAT! What symptoms are you having now?
410406 tn?1209480659 That is something to be really proud of. I am down to 6 a day and am fighting the urge to throw them out and just quit and not do the taper like I was advised. You are inspiring to me, keep going!
Avatar n tn I was in the same boat as you. Tramadol IS a narcotic, and you can get addicted to it. I had to change doctors and my new doctor told me that tramadol is a narcotic, is very addictive, and does not help pain much and has too many side effects, including seizures. In May of 2008, Sweden moved it onto their controlled substances list as a narcotic. It stimulates the same MU receptors as narcotics do. I would dump it and try something else. Half a tablet won't do much for you...
