total abdominal hysterectomy nursing diagnosis

I had a total abdominal hysterectomy 4 weeks ago and now my skin is so greasy! I kept my ovaries. Does anyone else have this?

After many different treatments I opted for a total hysterectomy aged 36 had no children and was told before this that I probably had a 5% chance of conceiving through IVF. Although I don't get the horrible period pains I am still in almost permanent pain from what I was told were probably adhesions and I've pretty much been left for the past 10 years to cope on my own.

I was just wondering if anyone still has their cervix after going through a total abdominal hysterectomy? My doctor left mine intact after surgery because he said that it would help with IP therapy (ie, prevent leakage). I was stage 3c...but apparantly my cervix was ok. I'm almost 1 year post diagnosis and doing well...but was just curious about the cervix. Thanks.

There are two ways to do the surgery. The old-fashioned method is called a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy, or TAH, meaning the work is done through an abdominal incision. Recovery time is easily 6 to 8 weeks. A Total Vaginal Hysterectomy (TVH) means the uterus and cervix are removed through the vagina. A laparascope is used through tiny incisions in the abdomen to release the structures that hold the uterus in place.

I had undergone Total Abdominal Hysterectomy last April 2012. And then after a month, I felt back pain. I thought it was the after effect of drugs during the procedure...as days went on, my knees had the same too..I went to see my OB and required blood tests for Potassium and Uric, it was found Negative, and immediately prescribed Difenax for pain, it helped though, but I had to see an Orthopedic Surgeon for proper evaluation. Undergo series of x-rays for my knees.

She has never been given HRT, and her GP has two conflicting letters from the hospital that performed the Hysterectomy, one states she had a total and the other states a partial, she has not had a period since but only recently has found out about the 2 different letters, what can we do to get a diagnosis for her inabilities as well as finding out which of the letters are correct and if she should have been on any medication, I only ask as some of the illnesses/ diagnosis are age related but sh

You will probably find everyone has a different experience. I had a TAH (total abdominal hysterectomy). Due to my diagnosis I was not a candidate for a laparoscopic procedure. I would prepare for the abdominal surgery so you have everything you need in case your doctor ends up going that route. Surgical menopause can be a difficult time for many ladies. Your doctor has probably already discussed hormones. I found a patch worked and still works really well for me.

I already had appendectomy, 3 times CS Section, Abdominal Hysterectomy (2005) and Left ooperectomy (2007). on my operation that they had done the hysterectomy I had 11 bags of blood transfusion, so on mid of 2007 i had my 1st siezure, so i was diagnose that i am epileptic. I had a total hysterectomy 2 years ago. I was ok for a long while. However I started exercising and I now have a constant ache cramping and spasms. The pain is in my buttock, hip, bladder and vulva area. Sometimes it feels like my insides are following out. I am concerned could this be ligament pains? Hi everyone...I recently had a total laparoscopic hysterectomy and could use advice. 2 days at home and had to return. A cat scan confirmed an abcess. I became in patient for 4days then sent home w an abdominal drain and bag. 2weeks nearly and cut revealed should be able to remove abdominal catheter and bag this week. How serious is an abcess just above vaginal wall, what can cause it, and what kind of questions should I be asking my doc?

Surgeon sugested the total hysterectomy with uterus, left ovary and tube, lymphnodes and abdominal fat removal. Very emotional. can somebody gime me advise what to do?

Had a hysterectomy 7yrs ago. did not remove ovaries or fallopian tubes. Starting to have lots of pelvic pain again. Will I have to have them removed eventually?

I have ovarian cancer, which has been stable for a year without chemo. I have already had total abdominal hysterectomy,both ovarian out,also appendix out..I had a bone scan about 4 months ago for leg pain, it should arthritis. So recently I had a CTof pelvic-showed stable, CTscan of abdomen which showed dilatitin of renal system, but no mass was seen.Also had a bone scan. I have a appointment with my doctor July 17,2008.

Hi- Just wondering if anyone out there had any complications post total hysterectomy? I had mine 3 months ago due to several cysts again! Paternal grandma died of ovarian cancer at age 50. I had 15 years of cysts, and a total of 8 laporosopies. I am not even 40 yet! Any how, at my 8 wk check up my oncologist said everything was fine, no infection, no cancer, etc., I can try having sex with my husband. We did everything was fine.
