Avatar f tn I was at my doctors today and he prescribed Toprol XL 25mg's this is a first for me and I havent been taking it before BUT he told me to NOT get the generic brand of this, he said MAKE SURE the pharmecy gets you the TOPROL XL and not generic because it doesnt work as well and there has been some big complaints. SO there is something behind it all......
Avatar n tn My cardiologist put me on 25mg of toprol xl and they seemed to go away. I stopped taking the toprol 2 years ago and I was switched to 20mg Inderal as needed. I would take an Inderal maybe once every 4 or 5 months and the pvc's would again go away. Recently in the last week or so the Pvc's returned with a vegenance. I wound up going to the ED, then back to the cardiologist for an echo-cardiogram and a 24 hour holter monitor (both of which I am awaiting for the results of).
Avatar f tn As some background, I do have high blood pressure, controlled by taking Toprol-XL, a beta blocker. I also have a history of anxiety. My mom and sister get migraines with aura. I had a CT scan the other day, but don't know the results yet. My Neurologist thinks it may be migraine related, but I admit I am skeptical because I don't get the Aura, and it doesn't always turn into a headache - sometimes my head just tingles all day.
21064 tn?1309312333 I know that these PVC's can drive you crazy, I've had them for about 25 years off and on and then I finally found the TOPROL XL. Keeping my fingers crossed. I also cut out ALL alcohol, caffeine, sugar, chocolate and almost all stress.:) I also started taking xanax when I'm really having a lot of PVC's and it seems to work for me along with Gatorade for electrolytes and no caffeine.
Avatar n tn I've been experiencing some odd symptoms over the past few years and they have since gotten worse and now concerning to me. My vision is constanly bothering me and I have a hard time focusing on words when reading. In the past I've had spells of blurred vision followed by a lathargic state and then a pounding headache. This headache sometimes lasted for more than 24 hours. About 3 years ago, I had an MRI done and all came back clear.
Avatar n tn They put her on Toprol morning and at night and her pulse still runs around 110bpm she has really bad tremors (her hands shake and always have) she is 19 years old and feels ok . Is it normal for the heart to do the opposite of what it was before? And should we be concerned about anything? If anybody can help me understand this I would greatly appreciate it.
Avatar n tn Just adding another increment of evidence of the reality of "paxil w/drawal syndrome." Big time tummy cramps and indigestion have arrived, days 7-8 off paxil, as predicted by those who know better than the "authorities" in the US. Be careful, folks. Its a big drag, but I just wanted to assure anyone going through it what is likely to happen.
Avatar n tn Actually this incident caused anxiety! The next week I was put on 50mg of Toprolol XL (I'm still taking this and it helps a lot). Since the first episode over a year ago, I have noticed that every time I eat a high protein meal like chicken, whole milk, eggs, peanut butter, etc, my bp would go high.
Avatar n tn Decent shape but alittle heavier than I'ld like. Toprol XL for keeping my heart regular. I am not taking vitamins, so I don't believe medications are causing this. My best guess would be nerve issues. With the stress we all deal with, I really think we need to start stretching more. Our lifestyle, I believe is our problem, and lack of exercise. Although, exercise alone without stretching can be hazardous if you are tight.
Avatar n tn Today I panicked and called the paramedics who came and did a 12 lead and they said normal sinus with one ectopic and so I didn't go back to the ER. I had a normal echo 3 years ago. I already don't eat caffeine or sugar. Please reassure or sympathize with me. I'm going insane and have no idea what's causing this out of the blue. Why would they suddenly increase for no reason whatsoever?
Avatar n tn Possibly a delayed result of an automobile roll-over accident 7 months earlier. Symptoms were drooping eye lid, morning headaches, and mild tinnitus. I was told to avoid weight lifting but have no restrictions on cardio. I work out with a heart rate monitor sometimes up to 95% of my clinically determined maximum heart rate. I am on aspirin regimen only. Agree that the lack of information and treatment is frustrating.
