ok ok , I started topiramate for 2 moths now, the first month the cravings was less, and after a month the doc, change the dosage, now I'm on 50 twice a day, I don't think its working. I haven't lost any weight, does this meds take time?? Should I been seeing result ? am I wasting my time? I really haven't been experiencing the side effects, little bit at first, but nothing to cry about. If anybody have any advice please any is helpful!

I just started topiramate and took my first one two nights ago and that same night was up all night hawking up mucus. Second night I felt stuffy and horrible sore throat and still a ton of mucus. I'm allergic to a lot of perscription meds for cold and stuff so it's hard to find one that will actually work when me when I do. But I can't get into my doctors for a couple more days anyways. It seems to b getting worse each day. It's also raining here.

I take 150 mg of topiramate for cronic cluster headaches every night. Sometimes this causes me to have wake up with pain/tingling in my feet as a side effect. I find relief from this pain by using a "hidow" electronic massager that uses electricity on the bottoms of my feet. I'm not sure if that is relevant but that's what I had just started using when the pain in my feet was so intense.

So for example I was taking 100mg a day of Topiramate (1 pill 25mg in morning and 2 25mg pills at night). But with Trokendi I took 100mg (because they don' have a 75mg pill) at night and I was wiped out. So they do have a 25mg pill and I take 3 of those at night. then I was ok. There is a discount card by the company too. Insurance has a copay. Otherwise, Trokendi is very expensive while Topiramate is generic and cheap. I hope this works for you.

The Maxalt did absolutely nothing and the Topiramate put me through two weeks of constant dizziness and vertigo not to mention a couple of panic attacks. I quit the Topiramate and had severe withdrawal symptoms that put me in the E.R. Blood work, urinalysis, chest xray, and head CT w/out contrast all checked out fine.

m working out everyday moderately (exercise bike,dumbbells)and changed my eating habits cutting out pb, and chips which were my main downfall. Don't drink soda,alcohol or do drugs. I have been having worsening symptoms over the years, left side feels heavy, dropping things, and worsening headaches.

Often they are better able to answer these types of questions than your doctor because they have access to all the databases available that contain information about drug interactions and so on. Anyway, my neurologist is treating me currently with 25mg Nortriptyline and 25mg Topamax at night. They have helped (more so the Topamax). Hi there, I have been on Effexor XR 300mg for a number of years plus Avanza at night. These meds have been very effective until the last few months when I've slipped a little. I am morbidly obese and that has been getting to me as well. hi there coleen, i can relate to the misery of eating and pacing all night back and forth from the bedroom to the fridge. i dont know if you have tried cognitive behavioural therapy? (cbt). It looks at the underlying causes and examines behavioral patterns, works well for some people. problem is the underlying causes of self abuse (overeating or not eating) are usually very painful, and overeating can push the painful feelings down, this becomes a habit overtime and is addictive.
