Avatar f tn I have periodontitis and consequently have bone loss throughout my mouth. I recently had #15 extracted. Today I went for my one week postoperative checkup. The site had not healed; I am to return in one week. My concern: I don't understand why my dentist didn't do any restorative procedures when he extracted the tooth. He gave me an explaination, but I didn't understand.
Avatar m tn topamax is not an atypical antipsychotic rather an off-label anticonvulsant (antiepilepsy) drug to stabilize BP. Strange one of the side effects is anorexia (loss of appetite). The only drug i know which doesn't cause weight gain is lamotrigine. But aside from it all the AC's, lithium, AP's even AD's cause weight gain. In short all BP drugs increase weight. That's a price we pay. I recall once Oprah had a program for BP and all the guests were rather heavy weight persons.

I don't regularly use pain meds and am far from addicted, I am just so worried that those couple pills hurt my little one. :( help!
Avatar n tn When my GERD was extreme, my doctor had me taking it twice a day, and suggested I take it when I heard the pots and pans come out for breakfast and dinner, as that is when I ate meals, other than a light snack. You have asked a question often asked, so I looked up the directives: "Prescription omeprazole comes as a delayed-release capsule, and packets of delayed-release (long-acting) granules for suspension (to be mixed with liquid) to take by mouth.

Some Doctors believe that increased muscle & joint pain is a direct result from long term use. Also, tooth decay and aging skin have been noted in long term use of opiates. Other than that, I don't know of anything else that I have heard of.
Avatar n tn Hello, I am in my early twenties and recently had my upper left premolar extracted and replaced with an implant. I know that bone loss can occur when a tooth is extracted, and the implant is supposed to prevent such bone loss from occurring, but will there be any bone loss at all? I am really concerned because I am so young and don't want my facial appearance to change. Thank you so much.

16361457 tn?1449652821 Yes-- I have had root canals, and today I had to have a tooth pulled where a crown was previously poorly done by a dentist I went to for many years. He got careless with the care he provided as he got close to retirement. Now I need to get an implant. I should mention I have major head and neck pain and issues from previous whiplash and some very bad falls and concussions. It is uncomfortable for me to get dental work in general.
1207301 tn?1266349378 smoking should not darken your gum tissue (unless its related to the lack of circulation in the tissue which you cant fix except to stop smoking), however it can stain your teeth and create a line of stain that may look like its on the gums, but really on the tooth. I would not use any oils to clean your mouth. Stick with an ADA approved toothpaste and mouthwash and make sure you get your teeth cleaned every 6 months.
Avatar f tn The odor is being caused by the decay in the tooth and the only way to get rid of it is to have the tooth pulled. I would call some dentists and tell them your story...some will charge you much less than normal and some will allow you to pay in like 3 payments. I hope you find one that will help you and I wish you all the best.
