Well I had my wisdom tooth pulled on Monday.It had to be the worst experience.After 2 1/2 hrs of grinding,pulling,pushing and cutting,the doctor gave up and had to send me to someone else.My appt was at 9:00 and I left at 12:30.The next dentist couldn't get me in until 3:00.By the time I got to that appt all the numbing shots wore off and they had to numb me all over again.That dentist took another 1 1/2 hours to get it out.
Okay so I have a gum infection around my wisdom tooth, pericoronitis. i've been on antibiotics, amoxicillin for 3 days now and not much has changed. my throat is starting to hurt so im scared the infection is spreading. i dont have dental insurance so i dont want to remove the tooth unless its the last resort. I want to get a operculectomy to remove the gums and hopefully it'll solve the infection. if it comes back, then i will really consider getting the tooth out.
hi all i had a wisdom tooth took out last friday had to go bk to dentist today as i had a rally bad taste coming out of it and they said i had a bit of an infection but the salt water had sorted it so they cleaned all the tooth out and packed it my question is whilst its packed cud i still rinse it out with salt water thank u
If your wisdom tooth is trying to come in there is infection present, no matter how minimal. The lymph nodes collect the bacteria. They can stay swollen for months even AFTER the infection is gone. If your wisdom tooth becomes impacted the lymph node will stay swollen. Think of them as a cemetery for dead bacteria. It takes a long time for the body to eliminate the dead bacteria they hold.

Hi, I got a bride fitted on my top left side, it is 4 teeth and fits on the tooth next to the top left wisdom tooth, obviously that tooth was ground and made smaller for the bridge to fit on it, the tooth was absolutely healthy and fine, i have never had any problems with that tooth earlier, the day grinding took place that tooth became sore, very very sensitive and I had to get temp.
Why doesn't he just fill the cavity? I never heard of pulling a tooth because of a tiny cavity. My dentist doesn't work like that. I lost one wisdom tooth because I injured it but the other three are fine and dandy and I intend to keep them. I don't understand this pull happy approach.
Just a few days ago I started to feel very bad due to a wisdom tooth infection...in thepast when my wisdom tooth would inflamate it would eventually go down, so I waited 3 days..Aftet the third day feeling horrible I went to the dentist and he gave me amoxiline and antifamatory medicine. The day after I took the wisdom tooth out and now I am recuperating.
Question number 2: Will those 3 days when my tooth started to infect could cause any trouble iin my heart?
I then went to the oral surgeon a week later for a consultation. He said I had bone loss near the wisdom tooth from the infection, which scared me. He told me to wait to take another dose of amoxicillin until the day before the extraction. My jaw is currently hurting right below the lower left wisdom tooth. Does this mean the infection has returned from the first dose of amoxicillin and if so, am I still ok to wait until a week from tomorrow to have the tooth extracted?
Saw my doctor on Wednesday and he said it sounded like anxiety. Dentist on Thursday, said I had a tooth infection. Freaked out, bc I know that this can spread to your brain. I've had a stye and a sinus infection, so now I'm convinced that it's spreading to my brain. My doctor said it's unlikely, so did the dentist. I'm taking an antibiotic and will be getting the infected tooth out next week. Possibly all 4... It's a top molar that's infected.

Had a wisdom tooth removed. Less than a week later, the tooth next to the old wisdom (already worked on twice as the dentist said there was a cavity in it - filling caused pain when chewing so he redid the filling a 2nd time and still a problem) and the crowned molar next to it started throbbing. Feels like it's coming from the area between the crowned molar and the one next to the old wisdom tooth. So, I go back.
I have an impacted wisdom tooth on lower right side and a slight gum infection according to my doctor. I recently noticed my cheek is swollen and my neck. My ear hurts occasionally and last week I actually got sick and my throat hurt very bad. I also noticed a lymph node on my trapezius muscle between my ear and my shoulder. Can my wisdom tooth be causing all this? Please help I am very stressed about this. I am a hypochondriac so that doesn't help. Going to dentist tomorrow to see.
