Avatar f tn I have hypercementosis(mis spell) and had an extraction of number 4 tooth 6 weeks ago. I'm experience a lot of pain and the only thing that helps is my finger in place of the missing tooth. I've had two course of antibotics. The area has been checked twice and they thought I might need a root canal in tooth number 5. Specialist checked with no reaction to hot, cold and pressure so she prescribed oral rinse. I looked and the area is white but doctor said that it's healing.
Avatar f tn Tooth extraction is the process which is used to remove teeth from its socket in the bone. After tooth extraction, recovery takes a few days but if you are feeling any discomfort, contact your dentist to get confirmation about infection.
Avatar n tn tooth extracted....now white area...smellls....sore.......is this usual....flying on holiday in 2 days getting concerned..
9671341 tn?1443128711 This infection may not have necessarily arisen as a result of the teeth extraction process. If you have any decayed tooth, this may have caused green mucus to form in the wisdom tooth socket. " http://www.dentistshateme.com/2014/01/25/how-to-get-rid-of-green-mucus-from-wisdom-teeth-extraction-hole/ I'd contact your dentist because you probably need antibiotics etc Cheers.......

I t must be food or something suck in that area. I am worried that my other tooth next to the extraction may also be in fected. I hope that is not the case for you or me. Can I ask if you have had any headaches or swelling? my inner cheek was really swollen a fter the second day. and seems to be causing my neck and back of head to ache.
Avatar n tn About a year ago, I had an apicoectomy to have the abscess removed (choosing it as an alternative to extraction with the aim of keeping the tooth at whatever cost). The surgeon showed me photos of the abscess and said it was a large one. The tooth was fine for about 6 months as well as the nasal pain. But now there is once again a swelling and the site of the swelling feels uncomfortable. Moreover, I have been feeling easy fatigue and little ability to concentrate or focus effort.
Avatar m tn The bump does not hurt to be touched and the tooth below it does not hurt. This position is 5 teeth away from the extraction site on top. I have poked at it and it's not able to be popped, it looks like a tiny bone. Here are my questions: Could the bump be caused by the infection that I already have? If not, what is this thing? Thanks!!!
Avatar n tn Hello.. I recently had an emergency abscess drained and a tooth removed because of the infection. I had the draining done on a Sunday morning and the extraction done on Monday morning. Monday morning I was very nauseuated, prior to the extraction. The dentist said this was normal. My face swelling had went down alot, but was not back to normal size. After the extraction (day 3) I am still nauseated at times. My face is still swollen, though not as bad.
Avatar f tn I keep getting this white bump on my upper gums in the same spot every time, just above my left front tooth. Sometimes it hurts and is uncomfortable so I will pop it like a pimple and a white fluid comes out but it relieves the pressure and pain, then i rinse with listerine. I think it may have something to do with a past injury to my teeth.
Avatar f tn Agree with Blu. Is it infected or just discolored? Is it loose? Not sure why they want to extract it. One tooth extraction shouldn't affect her. What prognosis did they give you on a root canal?
Avatar f tn So I had just undergone a tooth extraction 6 days ago. The pain is still there and it's increasing day by day. A white bone-like thing sticking out of my outside gum. I can feel like a buldge of something on my cheek. I feel like it's always poking at my cheek but it doesn't look sharp. More like slightly long. At first, I thought it was an ulcer but then slowly it's beginning to get more exposed. What is that thing? Is it my leftover tooth or my bone gum sticking out?

Avatar n tn Tomorrow is the start of day 4 of tooth extraction healing, now I havent felt alot of pain but im worried about dry socket. How easy is it for the clot to be removed and if you do have dry socket can you see a whole or what? when my tooth was removed it had been chipped so when I look in my mouth at the extraction site I see only a little bit of white where the clot was. I am assuming it was because I only had a little bit of tooth left there before the pull. IM JUST AFRAID OF DRY SOCKET.
Avatar f tn I had an extraction and bone graft on a molar (tooth #3) a bit over a month and a half ago (a month and 3 weeks to be exact). Yesterday when brushing, I noticed I started bleeding a bit from the extraction area, and when I took a close look, I noticed some white/yellow spots peeping out of the this area. I’m a bit worried as I didn’t notice this before. There’s 0 pain, and 0 swelling in the area, no foul orders.
Avatar m tn I do smoke, and started back the day after, I also drink a lot of sodas, and although I knew this was bad in general, until I did the research tonight I had no idea it was especially bad after a tooth extraction. Anyway, the gum area around the extraction sites is inflamed and painful, and when I look I can see white (I can see this in both extraction sites and I'm guessing this is bone) but there isn't a deep hole like some I've read about.
Avatar n tn Your tooth probably was abcessed, and an abcessed tooth is never pulled until antibiotics have resolved the infection. Also, novacaine does no good with an abcess, if absolutely necessary to extract an abcessed tooth, then you must be put to sleep. So, you are correct, it was all pain you were feeling! Sounds like a lousy dentist you had!!!! Pain and odor is usually associated with infection. I would get another dentists opinion just to be on the safe side.
Avatar m tn At the time of extraction, the dentist told me I need have bone graft and it should be done at the time of tooth extractio or at least within two weeks after the extraction. But I did not follow his advice and just simply had the tooth extracted. My question is if I am to have an implant later, can I still have bone graft at that time?
Avatar n tn I intend to extract my molar tooth. I am 63 yrs, Can i take the aspirin and do the tooth extraction or take after the extraction. Your advice will be much appreciated. thank you.
Avatar f tn I have never had such pain before after a tooth extraction. Why are my gum lines feeling sore. It is no where near the tooth extraction?
Avatar n tn if it can be moved, it is most likely a bone spicule or small sliver of tooth that may have chipped off during the extraction. It should be pushed up and out during the healing process. If you think it's intact bone poking through, see the dentist who did the extraction.
Avatar f tn Hello, I had my impacted tooth removed 3 days ago and now the area is white and it still hurts. my gum is swollen and i can barely open my mouth. the doctor prescribed me antibiotics the day he extracted the tooth. Should i wait and finish the antibiotics or should i go see the dentist.
