Since then my dentist has said that he can remove the adjacent wisdom tooth himself under local (other dentist referred me to hospital). the wisdom tooth itself has "rotted" and all thats left is the root, so he said it will be a tricky and quite long job. I am concerned about this, knowing the bone is still healing and regrowing in the molar extraction socket next to it, and I am very worried about damage to the new bone that is still growing.

I had root canal and crown done 2 years ago on that tooth, and it got infected due to tooth breaking under the crown(no idea how) To make long story short, this oral surgeon offered me 2 options. 1. General anesthesia Versed/Propofol
2. Local-Nitrous oxide. I'm really not comfortable with either one. I think it will make me paranoid and I will freak out there. I remember last time I had my tooth extracted, I just got Lidocaine and that was it. What are my other options?

it was extracted 6 months ago, and ever since it the next day afte extraction, i felt discomfert not by the tooth but below next the jaw line under my teeth. It feels hard, I went back to the dentist, and told him about it, and he saw no problem. He would touch the area and a few hour later i would feel discomfort. the area it self dosnt hurt, but its hard, and feels like it gets harder when i smile, and when I eat it hard food. it gets harder.
Most doctors will not pull teeth until u are through your first trimester and you will need to be cleared by your obgyn.
Hi there, for 3 weeks I've had a terrible tooth infection. The first few days I fobbed it off as I'm scared of the dentist but started to hurt so bad I couldn't sleep. So, went to dentist and she couldn't see anything wrong, even with the X-ray but put me on amoxicillin and arranged another appointment.
He has put me to the bottom of the list as he feels my dentist could have removed the tooth under a local. Is it because I have some complicated nerve pathway ? My daughter just went to the same dentist and had a small filling on her upper molar but even after 4 injections he could not numb her lower tooth to file it for filling with sealant.
Your tooth probably was abcessed, and an abcessed tooth is never pulled until antibiotics have resolved the infection. Also, novacaine does no good with an abcess, if absolutely necessary to extract an abcessed tooth, then you must be put to sleep. So, you are correct, it was all pain you were feeling! Sounds like a lousy dentist you had!!!!
Pain and odor is usually associated with infection. I would get another dentists opinion just to be on the safe side.
A root canal may be recommended in an attempt to save the tooth. In severe infection extraction may be necessary. Keep me posted with more queries.

I had no pain in that tooth but I thought back to a few months prior when I was having painful aches in my jaw, it felt like I couldn't open my mouth and so it made sense... Ok I said do it... but then he went ahead and removed the wisdom tooth behind the infected tooth...
The extraction was done under local anesthesia and very quickly. It came out whole and only had one root. The hole was tiny. Also, there was little to no swelling. There was some bleeding through the first day, but it stopped after that night, and was fine for the next four days. I was super diligent about salt rinses, soft foods, not drinking through a straw, and am not a smoker. It seemed to be healing well.
My dentist prescribed antibiotics for the tooth extraction. I told him I am on interferon and he called my GI and checked with him first. I don't think there should be any issues.
Both your dentist and doctor should know all your current medications and any invasive dental procedure you are planning.
To make a long story short, I have been to doctors 7 times since tooth extraction for aches face, jaw, neck, ears clogging, upper left arm aching, swollen glands under chin, as well as two chest colds, and also diagnosed with sinusitis. I am now on my 5th round of antibotics in 8 months. And each time I finish I feel good for a week or two and the symptoms return.
Three days after the extraction of tooth #3 (the most painful tooth) my 2 years of stomach bloating issues completely went away and I felt slightly better but the tiredness remains. I have decay under crown and dentist wants to remove tooth but I also have a bridge next to this and the supporting tooth for this has roots going sideways due to an impacted tooth in gum line. This may become unstable after extraction and i end up with a large gap . what is the alternative. I have no pain under crown but gum is soft due to the decay.
