Avatar m tn Hi I would like to know the steps of a tooth extraction procedure, what the best dentist company is (ex. Neighbor etc.) and, if a tooth extraction will hurt.
Avatar n tn I intend to extract my molar tooth. I am 63 yrs, Can i take the aspirin and do the tooth extraction or take after the extraction. Your advice will be much appreciated. thank you.
Avatar f tn Tooth extraction is the process which is used to remove teeth from its socket in the bone. After tooth extraction, recovery takes a few days but if you are feeling any discomfort, contact your dentist to get confirmation about infection.
Avatar f tn Hello, After tooth extraction it is important for the blood clot to form to stop bleeding. Be careful not to dislodge the blood clot while brushing your teeth near the extraction site for at least 3-4 days. Carefully wipe the area with a clean, wet gauze pad. If you are worried about the size of clot it is best to get it seen by your dentist. That will help allay anxiety. Take care and regards!
Avatar n tn You may experience a lot of pain following your tooth extraction for a few days. Lortab should help control that pain better than plain acetaminophen (tylenol). Avoid alcohol and additional doses of acetaminophen. Obviously you should not drive or work with possibly dangerous equipment. I would think twice about running after a tooth extraction, especially a marathon. Discuss this with your dentist.
Avatar n tn No complaint of unusual pain at the extraction site and no mention of excessive bleeding (I was out of town at the time of extraction so I cannot independently confirm this). No noticeable facial swelling. Slightly malodorous oral cavity, but he is an alcoholic potentially coming off a 4-day binge starting about 24 hours after the extraction.
Avatar n tn I caved so I guess I'll find out soon enough. The tooth was pulled at 1:30pm, I took one 5/500 vicodin at 5pm and then two at 9pm. It's currently 12:41am and so far I have had ZERO relief. Smoking the cigarette has made it atleast bareable I'm not to pissy from INTENSE pain and no nicotine.
Avatar m tn hi thanks for your reply just a query with a wisdom tooth extraction 2 days old slightly bleeding should i be concerned when eating or drinking food from outside what if there some blood which i accidently swallow or touch some blood and accidently touch my mouth am i at risk, thanks
Avatar n tn May I suggest that your oral surgeon stitch up the empty socket where the tooth was extacted to minimize bleeding..I remember having no bleeding at all from 3 wisdom tooth extactions because the sockets were all stitched up.
Avatar m tn I thought most cardiologist now say that even tooth extraction is fine on plavix/aspirin because the bleeding will not be much longer than normal? The contrast is quite amazing when open heart surgery is given to patients who have taken their daily dosage of both aspirin/plavix and very often clexane on top. It makes one wonder how they heal.
Avatar m tn Thanks Yakub au
Avatar f tn I had 2 wisdom tooth taken out with a simple extraction just numbing of the area and pulling it out. The top tooths blood clot is visible and looks like it's good the bottom tooth I can't see the blood clot on it all I can see is a yellowish film.
Avatar m tn I had an abscess in my tooth and it has been extracted now it's infected and I am on antibiotics it is still bleeding after 48 hours now just wondering if I could get a bit of advice please
Avatar m tn Two weeks ago I had tooth #21 extracted. Several days after the extraction I did develop a partial dry socket that has since felt much better and the open hole is shrinking now. As the gums around the tooth socket continue to shrink/heal I have developed a very sore spot on the lip side of my gums 4mm below the edge of the socket.
Avatar f tn I had an extraction and bone graft on a molar (tooth #3) a bit over a month and a half ago (a month and 3 weeks to be exact). Yesterday when brushing, I noticed I started bleeding a bit from the extraction area, and when I took a close look, I noticed some white/yellow spots peeping out of the this area. I’m a bit worried as I didn’t notice this before. There’s 0 pain, and 0 swelling in the area, no foul orders.
Avatar f tn I forgot something to explain that I saw a root fracture line in X-ray but that tooth was not mobile. And patient refused to take an extraction so I chose RCT.Now.I really want to know the cause of this RCT failure. I advised some medicinel (Ampiclox 500mg for 7 days Metronidazole 200mg for 5 days) 3 times a day. Patient already taken all these medicines. Please give your expert opinion and management.
Avatar m tn Just had a tooth extraction, removed all of my wisdom teeth. All areas have healed more or less except my bottom right. That area still hasnt healed and gums are beginning to surround my molar (tooth 31)? Also the inner lining of my mouth near my jaw line is a blood red. Is this an infection? Should I seek a dentist out asap?
Avatar n tn I tooth extraction begins to heal moments after the tooth is extraction. NO RISK.
Avatar n tn You may need to see a hematologist to rule out potential bleeding disorder. Dry socket is rarely associated with upper molar extraction.
1661995 tn?1327927741 ( The Dentist decided this would be better for me as i had an infection in my tooth leading to my gum and the amount of treatment needed and medication wouldnt be any good for the baby, so this was the only way!! Athough the Dentist will know that this is safe and ive had confirmation from my Midwife they know what they are doing, im still worried incase i this has hurt the baby in anyway! I have had 3 early miscarriages (inc Chemical) and this is the 1st time i have got to were i am today..
Avatar m tn I sucked on to her nipples. I had cuts on my tongue and a bleeding gum due to tooth extraction. I didn’t taste any breast milk and I am not sure if I bit her hard to eject any blood from her boobs. Now that I think about it I think there was a different taste and it may be from moisturizing lotion or sweat. I had a few ( 7-8 hours old) paper cuts on my fingers. Before I ejaculated I removed the condom with my hand that had cuts and ejaculated outside on her Tigh.
Avatar f tn However, my cheek (on my jawline) is still swollen and puffy (not hard, just puffy), as are the gums around the extraction site and the tooth adjacent to the extraction site. When I brush around the wound, the wound itself does not bleed, but the gums beside it do bleed (minimally) and I'm scared. I had my tooth pulled at a dental school and because the tooth was "hooked", it took 2 students and 1 OS resident over 2 hours to get the tooth out.
Avatar m tn I went for a cleaning appt , when they did x-rays the tooth deteriated in the gumline and bone .An oral surgeon extracted the tooth and did a bone graph due to bone loss. I was never givien antibiotics. After a wk I still had swelling in my face and the site was oozing pus. It was the weekend I had antibiotics of my husbands (enough for 3 days)I was sure this was an infection.I made an appt w/the oral surgeon . My jaw felt dislocated I couldnt chew and could barely open my mouth.
Avatar n tn there is no risk form kissing, even if your partner had recently had dental work, even if she had a sore in her mouth, even if there might have been slight amounts of blood in her mouth. the fact is that following dental extraction (tooth removal) the mouth starts to heal immediately but as I said before there is no risk. Thus, to summarize your situation: 1. You do not know if this person was infected. Statistically it is unlikely that she has HIV. 2.
Avatar n tn Now im scheduled to have wisdom tooth extraction...im kind of worried about bleeding possibilities...Since im SVR, does that mean my platelets wouldn't have fallen? Is it safe to have an extraction now or shud i have a CBC first?
