Avatar n tn If given a choice of rabbit mixes, rabbits will often pick out foods high in carbohydrates, high in simple sugars and high in fat, these foods are often extremely low in fibre. Thus they will select foods like grain, nuts, and cereal over more fibrous foods like hay. Indigestible fibre and size of the food play a big role in aiding digestion and the abrasive nature aids in the maintenance of the continuously growing cheek teeth.

Avatar f tn Tooth numbness can be caused due to a number of reasons like apical abscess, pulpitis, impacted tooth, dental abscess, dental cavities. It would be better if you consult a good dentist for the purpose at the earliest.
Avatar n tn A pulled tooth can result in numb toes and leg cramps, an overdose of anesthesia can last for two weeks and cause stomach problems, physical imbalance, or more. Root canals and dental infections can affect heart rate. Antibiotics can problem digestion. And pulled teeth are a source of sorrow, they never return. The primary answer (to teach children) is to do everything possible to have good teeth and stay away from dentist offices.
Avatar f tn Hi, lump in the gums above and adjacent to the teeth most commonly can be tooth abscess or fistula opening due to infected tooth. You may just check out any frank cavity or food imapaction area in related teeth to the swelling. In such case you may need antibiotics and root canal treatment of the affected tooth with the help of a dentist. Other possibilties could be pyogenic granuloma, fibroma, periodontal abscess etc. Check out with local dentist to confirm.
Avatar n tn t not have TOUCHED that tooth. The fluids inside of an abscess are highly toxic and potentially deadly. The White that you are seeing is more than likely the the abscess on the surface of the skin. The only thing than you can safely do is take antibiotics until the abscess is gone. It's very important that you take ALL of the antibiotics until the whole bottle is gone. Just because it stops hurting does not mean that the infection is gone.
Avatar f tn Well if the tooth is breaking apart, it most likely has a cavity in it and its making the tooth weaker. That's usually due to the bacteria penetrating the enamel (the hard outside of the tooth) and getting into the softer layer underneath. Once its in the softer spot, it'll continue to get larger underneath the tooth. When the layer underneath is too weak, the tooth will crack and break apart like an egg.
Avatar f tn Over the past couple days I developed an extremely painful abscess. In an attempt to clean my mouth using coconut oil the abscess burst. I believe I didn't swallow any of the liquid leaking out and throughly rinsed my mouth with salt water and then some hydrogen peroxide. I will be receiving insurance in about 2 weeks from my new job so I am hoping I can hold off going to the dentist till then.
Avatar f tn HI, The tingling and burning in the left hand may not be related to the tooth abscess. It is more likely to be due to compression of nerves in the spinal cord or due to peripheral neuropathy. Peripheral neuropathy can be caused by vitamin deficiency or due to systemic diseases like diabetes. Hence you should consult a Doctor for an evaluation. Also long standing abscess of the tooth can cause spread of infection to the jaw and neck also; hence it needs to be taken care of. Hope this helps.
1307768 tn?1273363703 ve had 2 others with no pain, but this time it hurts. not the tooth itself but underneath in the gum by the jawbone, i noticed when i press on my cheek. my tooth feels excellent i can eat on it with no pain. i have a narrow jaw and as the endodontist said, long roots. maybe this has to do with the pain? its right by the nerve in my jaw, i can feel that much.
Avatar n tn I went to my regular dentist on 1/13/06 and xrays showed a large abscess in tooth #10, as well as a smaller abscess in tooth #20. On 1/17/06 I had a RCT done on tooth #10, as well as an incision in the roof of my mouth behind that tooth to help extract the infection. On 1/19/06, I had a RCT done on tooth #20, with one 0.05mm post placed. I have been on Antibiotics since 1/13/06, taking Penicillin VK 500mg QID, so I'm now on my Eighth day of antibiotics.

Avatar n tn s got a tooth abscess in a healthy tooth and that the tooth should be extracted. He said it is unusual in cats and that they don't know the cause. He also suggested some antibiotics for a few days before the surgery to help with the infection. Just wondering if it is worth trying to save the tooth. Go through the course of antibiotics and see if he gets better. My vet made me feel like I was just being cheap and that conventional wisdom is to just remove the tooth.
Avatar m tn I had an abscess in my tooth and it has been extracted now it's infected and I am on antibiotics it is still bleeding after 48 hours now just wondering if I could get a bit of advice please
Avatar f tn Hi there, Periapical abscess results from a chronic localized infection at the tip or apex of the root of a tooth. It usually originates from a bacterial infection which has accumulated in the soft dead pulp of the tooth. It can be caused by tooth decay, broken teeth or any extensive periodontal disease. There is no definite time it takes for this abscess to form. It depends on the severity of the organisms and their virulence.
Avatar m tn The gum above the tooth is also perfectly fine. I had an abscess tooth before (oddly the exact same tooth just on the opposite side) about 2 years ago. The constant pressure feeling is the same but the swelling looks slightly different. When tapping my abscessed tooth there was incredible pain but now when i tap this tooth the pain hardly changes. The gum tissue above my abscessed tooth was also very sensitive, dark pink, and began to develop a boil. There is no sign of that this time.
Avatar f tn I woke up on monday morning in extreme pain and with a completely swollen top lip, stretched nose and puffy cheek. Having no idea what was wrong I went to the doctors and was put on amoxcillin (they weren't sure what was wrong as the abscess isn't visible, it is really high up under my lip and quite large).
Avatar n tn It sounds like you may have an infection, it could be due to a wisdom tooth or a bad tooth. It may possibly be an abscess, you need to go to the emergency room you may need antibiotics. Left untreated you could have worse issues.
Avatar f tn An abscessed tooth is a painful infection at the root of a tooth or between the gum and a tooth. It's most commonly caused by severe tooth decay. Other causes of tooth abscess are trauma to the tooth, such as when it is broken or chipped, and gingivitis or gum disease. These problems can cause openings in the tooth enamel, which allows bacteria to infect the center of the tooth (called the pulp). The infection may also spread from the root of the tooth to the bones supporting the tooth.
Avatar m tn Judging by your description, it is most likely a fistula which is a tract that forms from the abscess of your infected tooth that escapes out to the gums. As long as the fistula in intact, your abscess can drain and slow down the spread of the abscess but if the fistula closes up, the abscess can spread rapidly through your face or neck area. I would recommend seeing a dentist and getting treatment started.
Avatar f tn i am having a rear upper tooth extracted tomorrow - the pain will be slightly less than I have had over the last two weeks - this has been flaring up and down since February, but the last episode meant that I looked like I had a golf ball tucked in my cheek - my left nostril was numb, my head was too sore to brush my hair or touch, my neck hurt when I moved my head, my ear was crackling - the nhs dentist refused to drain the abscess but gave me antibiotics, these didnt work and I had another cou
Avatar f tn I have mod-advanced periodontal disease and developed a PA abscess and cyst in 7 months which caused severe pain and swelling that required extraction. How did it come about? Is it from dental decay combined with periodontal disease? It was tooth 26 with over 7 mm gum pocket and 50% mobility.. Just wondering if I could have saved it earlier with maybe a root canal? Hope to hear from some expert.
Avatar n tn when i had gone back to the dentist and they put me on stronger antibiotics i do remember they said something about a lingular abscess and madublar extension or perhaps i have those phrases reversed. he said that the infection in my tooth had spread to soft tissue in my cheek. that's why i was put on stornger anitbiotics. he wanted it to clear up before he proceeded. what would be the concerns with infection of a parotid gland?
14987752 tn?1437741703 Going back to your dentist to have a post op exam is advised. Your descriptions suggest presence of bacterial resistance to amoxicillin. Switching to other antibiotics may help sooner recovery.
