1208452 tn?1266336929 The hair growth or hirsuitism could be due to the higher testosterone level than is normal in females. The level can be high in androgen resistance, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, ovarian cancer, prolactin secreting tumors and polycystic ovary disease. You need to consult an endocrine specialist to rule out these problems. Treatment can be laser removal, hormone therapy and local creams. Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.
Avatar f tn Insulin is a hormone that controls the change of sugar, starches, and other food into energy for the body to use or store. Many women with PCOS have too much insulin in their bodies because they have problems using it. The ovaries, where a woman’s eggs are produced, have tiny fluid-filled sacs called follicles or cysts. As the egg grows, the follicle builds up fluid.
Avatar f tn Another source of estrogen and testosterone is dhea - your adrenals put out this precursor hormone and again, it can convert to either. Signs of too much are acne and greasy skin. Has your doc suggested this supplement? It is otc in most countries and even a small amount may help. Is your endo a neuro-endo?
Avatar f tn In such cases, prescribing FDA-approved erectile dysfunction medications could be appropriate There has been far less research regarding opiate-induced endocrine deficiencies in women than in men. Hypothetically, androgen treatment would relieve clinical symptoms and reduce risks of osteoporosis in affected women. In younger women, oral contraceptive pills (OCPs) might have benefit; particularly an OCP with a relatively androgenic progestin component.
Avatar m tn I have had a hormonal imbalance for 2 years (producing too much androgen) and in that time I had gained quite a bit of weight. I am now taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen and have actually begun to FINALLY start losing weight. My weight loss is not much yet, but I was wondering if taking these birth control pills is actually the reason for my weight loss?
Avatar f tn D I always eat ALot in my first trimester then I slow down. The only thing with eating so much at a time is that you may regret it later like u are now lol. I use to get really bad heartburn after eating too much. Good luck with those twins though! Maybe ur body is just preparing u to carry 2 babies :) Take care!
715883 tn?1260911191 There is also a medical condition called Haemochroatosis. It causes you to produce too much Iron in your blood which over time can be damaging to your internal organs. The answer is simple, you have a pint of blood taken, in a hospital, once a month till the levels are normal. After that you keep a check on it and might have to get more blood drained, but not necessarily every month. You cant donate this blood as it is tainted.
Avatar n tn but in your case, because you are still too young to be menopausal,it could indicate excessive androgen production that is a male hormone, but that women also produce.I would have this checked out by your doctor to make sure that there isn't any other reason causing this problem. To remove the hair, the best way is plucking or have them removed by electrolysis. Only be careful because it is a very delicate area and you could run the risk of irritation and infection.
Avatar f tn how much is too much pizza? Or TV? My point is that there’s no such thing as too much self-pleasuring. There’s only what works best for each of us. Some people self-pleasure three times a day, three times a week, three times a month, never, etc. When it comes to sexuality, everyone is different, and there’s no such thing as “chronic,” “normal,” etc.
Avatar f tn I'm 9 weeks pregnant and am vomitting too much & during vomitting i squeez my stomack and my abdomin.. i am caring about my baby.
Avatar f tn Hi there, Metformin is used to lower insulin, androgen, and cholesterol levels. It helps to improve metabolism in women who are insulin-resistant. It helps regulate menstrual cycles, start ovulation, and lower the risk of miscarriage in women with PCOS. Metformin can also help in regularizing menstrual cycles and starting ovulation in about 40-45% of women with PCOS.It may be more effective when taken with Clomiphene .Do consult your gynecologist for more queries. Please keep me posted.
Avatar f tn My boyfriend and I have been together for more than a year, We are in our early 20's, we have no STD's and have only had each other as sexual partners since we began to date. We tend to have sex fairly often ranging about one to three times a day. I have a few questions. 1. Is there a such thing as having "too much" sex?, and if there is what should we be doing. 2. We don't use condoms, (I know, I know) but he does pull-out, is swallowing his seman bad for me?
Avatar n tn ovarian dysfunction (not ovulating regularly), hyperandrogenism (increased male type hormones on lab testing or clinically increased hair growth), or polycystic ovaries on ultrasound (ovaries which show multiple small cysts on ultrasound). PCOS is a common cause of infertility and puts women at an increased risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. There is also increased risk of insulin resistance, hypertension, and abnormalities of cholesterol and triglycerides in women with PCOS.
Avatar m tn Hirsutism is defined as the excessive hair growth in an androgen dependent pattern where hair growth in women is usually minimal or absent (eg: face, chest, and areolaeas) as a result of increased androgen production, increased skin sensitivity to androgens, or both.
Avatar f tn Progesterone would affect different people differently. Also, the notion of too much adrenaline is misleading. What you have is too much anxiety, which can cause the release of adrenaline where you don't really need it. Hormonal imbalances can be a big cause of anxiety, and thus adrenaline rushes, but that doesn't mean the particular progesterone you're using is right for you.
Avatar f tn Well swelling is normal there during sex anyway. Perhaps since we have so much more blood in our bodies it is just a lot more pronounced than in the past. Not sure there is any solution for it though, may just have to deal with it til its over. :/ good luck.
Avatar f tn at my last appt I weight 126 lbs... I have gained 20 lbs already!!!! I asked my Dr if I was gaining too much weight too fast and he said he advises women to gain 25 -30 lbs during the entire pregnancy.. but since I was under weight to begin with he wasnt too concerned.. and if I was worried I could walk.. aaaaanyways.. I am still nervous about it .
Avatar f tn Sharma please do your research. Levonorgestrel is a cause of hair loss in women. Every single birth control that contains high androgen index progestins can cause hair loss. Stop telling women Plan B and birth control pills don’t cause hair loss. They do. The more doctors that understand this - the less of a problem women will have as they can make an informed choice. Please do your research. A simple search on any big BCP air IUD containing high androgen index progestins will show you this.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am 29 years old and I have suspect that I have PCOS. I was overweight/obese as a child and teenager until my early 20s. Aged 21 I started getting excess facial/bodily hair and my weight increased to its highest (can't remember what but I was a UK size 18/US size 22). Then aged 22 my periods went from being 5 days long, 3 days heavy 2 light to lasting just 3 days, none particularly heavy.
Avatar m tn s, and I know that this question has been asked a lot on this forum, but I have a problem with masturbation and wanted to know how much is too much. I seem to be one of the few men who has a very short refractory period for ejaculation. I can have a orgasm and ejaculate, and then do it again in just 5min. Well, this might not sound bad, but this also means that in only 1 hour i can masturbate 6 times if I'm stimulated. This can be both a blessing and a curse.
Avatar f tn I saw that too. I think most of them are being induced prior to their due dates because of health risks.. like the mom having high blood pressure or gestational diabetes, etc. My doctor only mentioned about inducing me if I go past 41 weeks, which of course, also depending on my health and my baby.
