Common Questions and Answers about Tongue yeast infection treatment

Avatar f tn I think that I also maybe going through some kind of yeast infection where I have thicker coating on my tongue and itchiness especially the private parts. Can yeast infection cause fatigue and is there any treatment that may relieve CFS symptoms. I also notice that when I drink coffe more than usual the fatigue seems to exacerbate. Thanks in advance.
Avatar n tn Do you have any ideas what it could be if not a yeast infection? my symptoms match the yeast problem, afew docs have told me I don't have thrush but my tongue is 'upset' for sure, the hot/numb sensation across my forehead worries me and I have told this to the doc before but no one seems to do anything. could it be thyroid u think? or maybe just mental and I'm doing it to myself?
Avatar f tn Could you please tell me what treatment should be used for a vaginal yeast infection for a patient with liver disease? Is a 7 day Monistat cream safe? I have read where it is contraindicated for use with liver impairment but don't find any other suggestions for treatment. Thank you.
237053 tn?1258832026 I've been dealing with a big yeast infection and my tongue gets that way sometimes too. I think Wonko once mentioned something I've also seen written elsewhere too, which is to swish around but DO NOT SWALLOW water with hydrogen peroxide in it. I forget the proportions. You can google it. *I think I've read that hydrogen peroxide is poisonous if you swallow it.* But it blasts the little yeast bugs to bits, so I've read. (I stick to Listerine cause I'm a chicken.
1070570 tn?1283439813 Something that is suppose to help with the yeast or rid us of the yeast is enzymes and another thing I read is to take Grapefruit Seed Extract the minute you get the yeast infection. As for the yeast free diet, I'm curious what that is. What I have read is sugar, cakes, chocolate, caffeine all can aggravate yeast problems. For me if I avoid these things I can keep it some what under control. The minute I take antibiotic I get the white thrush on my tongue.
6402846 tn?1391067348 I'm beginning to wonder if maybe I have a yeast infection going on. For the past 2 weeks, I've had some pretty bad days with my main symptom, which is pain in my legs. It hasn't been this bad ever, or at least since I got sick 4 months ago. I'm trying to figure out what the heck is going on, since this symptom usually doesn't get too out of control, and I've read yeast overgrowth can make lyme symptoms worse. I'm also consistently getting weak poops... like watery, almost borderline diarrhea.
Avatar f tn I'm almost positive that I have some sort of crazy yeast infection going on because my tongue is also white this morning. I just feel like a mess lately -- between the IGM test, a mole removal from my groin that was "questionable" but I found out was fine, now a recurring yeast infection... UGH! I feel like my reproductive organs are NOT HAPPY with me!
Avatar n tn she went back to get tested for everything and her doctor checked for yeast infection. she had a yeast infection and her doctor said she probably had one for a log time. i read that mixing white vinegar in a bath helps yeast infections. i've done that twice and it has been the only thing that has helped my symptoms besides using a ton of lotrimin. i also have a yellowish film on my tongue that looks like yeast infection pictures i've seen online.
Avatar n tn My wife and I got married in January, we havent had sex in, well without pain, in 1 1/2 years. A previous doctor couldnt pick up a yeast infection. Kept telling her the pain she's been having down there was because she was "raw." I wont get into that and the pain i'd like to deliver to that doctor's face. But anyway, we have seen a specialist in Hershey PA twice over the last 2 months. He prescribed Spornox, Itraconozale...spelling on both?
Avatar n tn I've been having the same issues. It started about a little over a month ago with a bacterial & yeast infection. The yeast infection came back and the bumps are still there and red - they almost look like taste buds on your tongue - am I correct??? That's how mine look anyway. I called the dr again this morning and I go on monday for a biopsy and was told I probably need a stronger steroid to cure this.
Avatar f tn So, in theory, I would say yes, a yeast infection could get that severe. But I am no doctor. I'm just using my experiences with yeast to come to that conclusion. Has your doctor never prescribed diflucan or flucanazole? A few doses of that may help. And then some external cream for the itching, burning, and blisters. Asking your doctor couldn't hurt.
Avatar n tn Later that evening when we went to be we had regular intercourse. The next day I started getting a yeast infection. I've used the one day treatment, it didn't work. Now I'm using the 7 day. Someone, please tell me I'm crazy.
Avatar n tn Or.....your partner can have a yeast infection and you two keep passing it back and forth, have him checked too.
237053 tn?1258832026 Yeast infection? Did your MD run blood tests to see if everything's what it ought to be? Hope it's better soon! Let us know what you find out.

Avatar n tn Given the atypically prolonged course, possible yeast infection, and poor response to treatment, I also have to wonder whether you are at risk for HIV and whether you have been tested for it. If you haven't done so, you should ask all these questions of your current providers, including their advice about whether an infectious diseases consultation might be warranted. The need for that depends at least in part on your current providers' expertise.
Avatar m tn Shortly after, I started noticing an irritated spot on each side of my tongue, near the rear of my mouth where my tongue rubs against my teeth. The spots started as a tiny white dot, then when I brushed, the white covering rubbed off and it was a small red, irritated spot with a thin white ring around it. The white ring expanded and expanded until it faded away. But by the time it faded, a new white spot had already formed at the same place the old one started... this continued for months.
Avatar m tn I had the white bumps and yellow tongue also and found out i had a yeast infection in my mouth. I'm not saying that you have the same thing but its something to possibly think about.
Avatar n tn Your ENT hasn't ordered a CT scan? As for tingling of the tongue, I think this could either be due to a nerve, thrush (oral yeast infection) or irritation from toothpastes/mouthwashes. As for anxiety, I truly think getting out frequently (if not daily)for a nice, 30 minute walk somewhere non-stressful would really give you a boost in the right direction.
Avatar m tn Also, I'm not 5 days into my Gentian Violet treatment. I can't tell if it's causing sores in my mouth or if the yeast has adapted to this treatment also. I guess I'll find out in 2 more days... I just want rid of this for my wedding. I would think that it would at least wane due to the fact that I'm not eating ANY sugar... what is this thing feeding on to keep growing?
Avatar n tn Like most, I appear to have developed OT after a round of antibiotics and/or indication of Candida Yeast infection/exposure. In my case I had been on a low level Tetracycline prescription for decades to help control adult acne. I'm going to summarize this forums repetitive cures and then one of my own. 1. Collodial silver water, Probiotics, salt or chlorhexidrine rinses, grape seed extract, oregano liquid and several others appear to have helped some but definitely not all who tried them.
Avatar n tn Since there is no treatment for geographic tongue, that is generally what happens. I have had this conditon for many years now, and more than anything, mine is unsightly. The main concern is that your is painful. Avoid irritating your tongue with hot or spicy food, alcohol, or tobacco. These substances can be what is triggering your pain and irritation.
11318065 tn?1462988079 White dots with inflammation are usually spots of infection around colonies of bacteria, fungi/yeast, or viral. If it's a mild infection the saltwater will likely take care of it though. If it doesn't. ..well no one should be needlessly walking around with a possible streptococcal infection and suffering when they don't have to.
Avatar f tn Hi All, Along with all my other ms symptons, I have had something new for a couple weeks now. The top of my tongue feels like its tingling, like when your a kid and eat one of those lollies called fruit tingles. Also the back of my throat feels it as well, and when I take a deep breath, it feels like I'm inhaling chemicals, or like I have held a battery on the top of my tongue. I also happen to know that tonge tingling is also another ms sympton..... Am I correct in this? Thanks again...
Avatar n tn I have had an orange tongue since October. Initially my doctor thought it was a fungal infection, however the symptoms did not subside after being treated with an anti-fungal medication. Then I was sent to an Ear, Nose, Throat Specialist. He did not have any answers either. He suggested that I use a tongue scraper and he prescribed an antimicrobial rinse. He said it's just something that I have to learn to live with. I still have an orange tongue though.
Avatar f tn There's only 2 things I know that cause this frequently while on hep c treatment...An oral fungal infection (like thrush) or a folic acid/ B-12 deficiency...Is your tongue bright red or have a whitish coating? Are you anemic? If it's fungal in origin, a simple mouth swish of a mixture of a children's thrush syrup, lidocaine, and Maalox (or just get a prescription of "Magic Mouthwash") and supplying a source of acidophilous (yogurt, capsules, etc) daily to your body...
Avatar m tn Why It's So Hard To Eliminate Candida Yeast Infections To understand why getting rid of candida can be so much harder than knocking out a bacterial infection, you need to know how candida yeast overgrowth manifests in your body. About 80% of the time, candida overgrowth occurs when antibiotics kill the friendly bacteria in the intestinal tract.
