Though, I was wondering if anyone else has had sores appear on their tongue? Just last month, I was washing my hands and noticed I had three red areas on my tongue: two on the tip and one a little to the side. I was reading online that ulcerative colitis can cause sores to appear in your mouth and didn't know if this was a cause for the sores to appear. Now, I have one on the tip of my tongue that just appeared yesterday and today it has a white center.

and ulcers. How long have you had the sore on your tongue? Is the sore
on top of your tongue or underneath your tongue? Just wondering.
Katester- I had sores in my mouth & tongue during tx. My Dr prescribed stalin, it worked. It would clear it up within a couple of days. Avoid eating mushrooms. they're a fungus & it will make it worse.

t know what else to do but that is making my tongue more raw and sore and causing minor mouth sores. I feel I am becoming addicted to bubble gum just to get relief and in reality it only helps while I am chewing it. I am also concerned it may cause major cavities. Please help me by letting me know the best product for this that I can purchase over the counter to get longer lasting relief and possibly heal my tongue and mouth sores. Thank You!
They were so incredibly rampant, I went to a doctor and they did a swab of the sores and said it was aphthous ulcers. In March of 2006 (a month after I returned home), my boyfriend started getting these severe mouth ulcers all over his mouth. They became rampant and extremely painful for him as well. We went to doctors, had complete workups and blood work and no one could figure out what it was. Neither of us had any genital sores but were tested for Herpes anyway.
I get cold sores but now I believe I have herpes inside the mouth. I keep getting red ulcers on the inside of my cheek. I also have burning mouth syndrome And have gotten small canker sores but no sores like the herpes pictures that I have seen on the internet. I have gotten little red bumps around the tip of my tongue. What are some of the sores typically associated with herpes inside the mouth?

before the intercourse, i stupidly asked the worker whether she has mouth sores/sprues/ulcers or not, because if she does i would hv just receive a handjob. Since the Dr used the spoon like equipment to supress the tongue of the HIV+ patient, the spoon like equipment might have touched his sores and ulcers. Since the spoon like equipment is used on my throat, I doubt whether my inflammed throat will transmit the virus to me. Will inflammed throat can receive the virus. Please help me. It could be herpes, though unlikely, and I'm curious about if it was swab tested by the person who prescribed the acyclovir? That could have given you the answer you seek. Cold sore virus (HSV 1) doesn't cause canker sores, canker sores are caused by reasons we don't know. HSV 2 infection rarely occurs in the mouth, though it is possible. You wouldn't get new HSV 1 infection since you have it already. It could be canker sores, but they rarely occur in the throat.
ve been tested back in January and June for oral herpes, and both times came back negative. I keep getting what seems to be a canker sore on the side of my tongue, and it appears in the same spot. It's happened 3 times in the past 4 months. I'm afraid it's herpes, what do you think? Is it typical to see recurrent herpes IN the mouth/throat as opposed to the lips/face? Please help!
I continue with mouth sores/ulcers and sores on my tongue. The ENT had no answers for me. I finally went to GI and had an endoscope today. No reflux, but I had esophogeal webbing that he loosened and took some biopsies. I am not sure what is esophageal webbing or what causes this. Anyone with insight? I also still don't have any answers as to what is causing the mouth ulcers for months now.
Mouth and tongue sores are pretty common. The numbing rinse makes them feel temporarily better but does not help them heal. You need to be vigorously rinsing your mouth 3-4 times a day with an over-the counter anti-bacterial mouthwash. It hurts to rinse the first day or so, but it will cause improvement (smaller and less painful sores) after a few days. Unfortunately new ones will keep starting as long as the bloodcounts are low.
I get canker sores all the time. I did some research on mine and found out that there is a ingredien called sodium lauryl sulphate in toothpaste that makes them flare up. I tested it by buying a toothpaste without it and they stopped bothering me. I also stopped using Listerine and starting using crest clinical moiuthwash and I rarely get them now. As far as your tongue is concerned your dentist would probably have an answer.
Need to get to the cause of your problem with your doctor. That many ulcers and your tongue swelling is not typical. This could be related to meds you are taking. Again speak with your doctor and too your pharmacist.
Go easy on the brushing, make sure your toothbrush is sterile. Look at any recent changes: meds, toothpaste, etc.
Corsodyl gel is OTC as well as Frador. But let someone see you to make sure what you have are actually ulcers. Could be another type of lesion.
I have 4 mouth sores(looks like blister like or ulcer like) on the very back of my tongue. They just appeared out of nowhere today. Is this (mouth sores or sores on tongue) a symptom of Sjogren's Syndrome? Or is it a symptom of Fibromyalgia? Do any of you get this with either Sjogren's or Fibro and if so, which one? I have only been dx with Fibro, so I do not know if I have Sjogren's or not. I just thought this symptom may be an important clue.

i have burning inside my mouth and cancor sores underneath my tongue. even chewing gum burns my mouth and i can't use toothpaste. i use peroxide to brush my teeth because i have sores that come and go on the right side of my mouth to the gums and underneath and along side my tongue on the right side. i had a dentist tell me this was more than likely a vitamin deficiency of some sort but after all this time i tend to think it is possibly an acid surplus.
I was diagnosed with genital hsv1 in March. I never had any oral symptoms, but got my first oral outbreak in July. I got a swab test and the sore on my lip was indeed HSV1. At the same time I had severely swollen gums and ulcers on my tongue. Since then I've been having recurrent gum swelling and tongue ulcers twice a month. From what I've read, it is pretty unusual to have recurrent hsv on your tongue. Any advice or suggestions about what is going on, or why it is so bad?
