I took Augmentin 500 3x/day for 10days. After the 10days I still had a sore throat that feels like an ulcer down my throat, and I also still had about 10 mouth ulcers as well as swollen gums. I went to my Internal MD and he put me on Medrol dose pack and Levaquin. This initially helped w/ the mouth ulcers but the one down my throat got much worse. I was given a Celestone inj and put on Orapred. Also taking Pepsid. Throat neg for strep and mouth ulcers neg for Herpes.
copegus - i have some of the normal sx but all of a sudden i have a very sore throat, roof of mouth and sore, raw tongue. my tongue seems to be very dry and it burns. i still have my tonsils and think i have gotten tonsilitis (sore throat & hard to swallow) this has been going on for a week now - any suggestions? anyone experience this before?
we had unprotected oral sex. after a week i had a nasty sore throat with white patches, i also have a fever during that time. i went to the ENT doctor and gave me clindamycin 300mg 4x a day for 1 week and it cured my throat. on december 2012 i had an ulcer all over my mouth most of them on and under my tongue and it was very painful. im having difficulty eating and drinking.
My partner has never had any symptoms of herpes (oral or genital) and has not so much as had a cold sore. My throat is so sore and very hard to swallow and the white spots are still clustered in one small area, with nothing elsewhere on penis or lips or mouth. The doctor I saw two days ago suggested it could be the cold sore virus (herpes) as canker sores unlikely as they would be randomly spread not clustered. He prescribed 200mg tablets of aciclovir five times a day for 5 days.

I'd be careful using L-Lysine ointment on your tongue. It's meant for sores
and ulcers. How long have you had the sore on your tongue? Is the sore
on top of your tongue or underneath your tongue? Just wondering.

i went already to a number of ENT , the last 2 of them say i should remove my tonsils , if i want to get ride of the swollen lymph nodes & the sore throat , then this is the solution,
what i'm worry about is , i have my tonsils for my whole life , why just now it come chronic ( also could it be the reason for the swollen lymph nodes , sore throat & mouth ulcers .
White patches are common in many throat infections. The sore throat and tonsillitis which you had may have contributed to it. In response to the infection the body produces soft white debris which collects in the tiny indentations in the tonsils called crypts. Repeated salt water gargles will help. Mix one teaspoon of salt in 1 cup of warm water and gargle. If the patches increase in size or become painful then consult your doctor.

ve had the sore throat, but for the whole four weeks Ive had dry, chapped lips and outbreaks of ulcers on my tongue.
The sore in my mouth does not appear to be a blister and is not sore, it may be from me accidently biting the inside of my mouth maybe?
It simply feels like a rougher patch of skin within my mouth, and from as far as I'm aware, HSV2 doesn't tend to affect within the mouth, especially right at the back next to the molars.
Thanks for the replies, yes JJ I get the ulcers on my tongue (not anywhere else) just on my tongue and my glands get swollen and my throat becomes sore, then they disappear only to return again.
To Dochiru I went off my meds due to constipation but unfortunately now I am off the bladder meds I am having issues again!! So I fixed one problem but the old one is back (groan)! I was taking Vesicare for burning and bladder spasms and urgency and Gabapentin for nerve pain.
However, over three weeks later, I still have the sore throat and can now see white-ish bumps in the back of my throat. They're difficult to see because they're located along the sides of my pharynx and the lower back part of my tongue, but they're white bumps with red borders, most often in clusters. I also have some on the back sides of my tongue, one cluster on each side, right where the tongue meets the back molars.
I had the one under the tongue at the back of throat and thought I had a sore throatuntil others appeared in one cheek area. Used Biotene mouthwash 3-4 times a day and they started to clear up.. Also had lidocaine swish by prescription to paint on before eating. Didn't 'swish' in mouth because didn't want to bite myself with a numb tongue. It takes a few days for them to start to clear.
s been approx 9 weeks I had that protected incident
After 4th week I started developing Tongue ulcers (no mouth ulcer, only tongue ulcers) and geographic type tongue and it's been 30 days nd I still having tongue problem
As the csw kissed me ( a closed mouth kiss) but my lip due to cracked got bit blood and I instantly washed it . can it cause HIv transmission ??
