Oral herpes, caused by the herpes simplex
virus type 1 that causes painful
sores on the lips, gums,
tongue, roof of the mouth, inside the cheeks, and sometimes even on the face and neck. This are self-limiting but may recur because the HSV viruses are still alive but exist in nerve cells in a quiet, inactive state and may be triggered. Talk to your doctor about this for proper management. Take care and do keep us posted.
