About 5 months ago, I started experiencing small eroded sores on the sides of my tongue where my tongue touches my teeth, near the back of my mouth. These patches have persisted to this day.
In the beginning, it was typically just 1 small sore at a time. These sores typically had a very thin white ring around the outside edge and areas grew slowly over a course of several days, until the white ring disappeared and the patches stopped growing.
What the doctor did was take this long match stick looking thing that was either sulfur or silver nitrate and touch it to the main soar on the tip of my tongue and it burned like crazy. Then he prescribed me some medicine that completely numbed my mouth and they eventually went away. So it seems right that stress could also cause it. It was terrible pain tho and I hope you feel better soon!
It is a white-yellowish coating on my tongue, my tongue also has like red bumps at the back of my tongue, scalloped edges and like canker sores in the edges back deeper inside. I find this really scary!
Has anyone seen anything like that before? Is that an ARS symptom?
My other question is. Have you ever seen or have known about a 28 day combo test (4th generation) negative result changing when restesting in the following weeks/months?

My 18 yr old son has a couple bad canker sores one on side of tongue one right on top of mouth right behind front teeth. Our Dr. prescribed an ointment over phone for him yesterday and it is helping the one on his tongue but his gums are still really swollen on the top so much so it coming through his front 2 teeth. I am hoping he just needs another couple days on medicine. Has anyone else ever experienced this? He is worried it isn't going to shrink back to normal.
The other night I was making out with this guy who I like, and I noticed that he had something that felt like a sore on his lip. Later on that night, I gave him oral sex... The next morning I woke up and found that I had a sore on each side of my tongue (they rub against my bottom molars). Hi - I was at the doctor two weeks ago because I had an infection around my wisdom tooth (periodontist I believe it's called). I had this a few years ago so I knew what it was immediately. The doctor put me on amoxicillian and it feels all better. However, about a week ago I started getting a few small sores around the gums on the other side of my mouth. I thought maybe I was just getting canker sores (had these before too).
i happen to notice while i was cleaning his eyes that his tongue is yellowish color and looks like a hugh canker sore. and he crys alot. should i take him to the vet or is their something that i can put on it like baby origel while it heals?
do you think it might be contagious?

none of the other kittens have this on their tongue.
about 2 days after i started taking it i developed a major case of thrush on my tounge... all that medicine did was make my sores worse. so i ate plain yogurt with an active culture in it to get rid of the thrush... the sore on the top of my tounge are gone but now theyre on my cheeks and under my tounge.... the pharmacist at walgreens told me to mix milk of magnesia and benydril together and swish it... so far i have seen quite an improvement from last night ...

in 12-June-2009 I felt of pain in my throat, after one day I found some white sores in my tongue it was very painful, I wnet to the Doctor and give me (Azithromycin) and somw medicines, after that and in 14-June-2006, my tongue and my inside lips havs very very painful white sores, I went to another doctor that gave me (DIFLUCAN and Daktarine oral gel), in 16-june-2006 I couldn't open my mouth, I couldn't eat and talk, I was very sick, after that i went to the same Doctor
About a month a ago my tongue became very irritated. I thought maybe I was suffering from canker sores, but my symptoms are not consistent with canker sores. The symptoms are as follows
1. Burning/Itching sides of tongue (mostly the base of the tongue underneath)
2. The top/tip of my tongue felt like it was burning for about 2 weeks then stopped
3. Whenever I eat spicy or acidic foods my symptoms increase tremendously
4. Also my cheeks and inner lips sometimes itch as well.
Recently, my cheek inside felt bumpy all on left side then my tongue had taste buds slightly raised. Craters on side of tongue. Slight white appearance to tongue. Nothing was really red...same colour of tongue. Drs looked within 24 hours (didn't swab for HSV, swabbed for bacteria neg.), Tongue was sore. Took Valtrex, seemed to be getting better then flared up again after day 5 on meds. Hasn't gone away It's been 16 days! a little better...Does herpes on the tongue look like?
Katester- I had sores in my mouth & tongue during tx. My Dr prescribed stalin, it worked. It would clear it up within a couple of days. Avoid eating mushrooms. they're a fungus & it will make it worse.

ve been tested back in January and June for oral herpes, and both times came back negative. I keep getting what seems to be a canker sore on the side of my tongue, and it appears in the same spot. It's happened 3 times in the past 4 months. I'm afraid it's herpes, what do you think? Is it typical to see recurrent herpes IN the mouth/throat as opposed to the lips/face? Please help!
Okay...this is not even mildly humourous anymore. When my tongue first started burning, I thought it was freezer burn from eating ice cream. Obviously, now that weeks more have passed, that's not the case. I kid not..my tongue stings all the time and it is so painful. I hate the litocain. It seems worse to not feel your mouth at all! I have 5 more weeks to go. Is there any chance this tongue thing will go away?
There really ought to be a prescription with something like that to guide you. Those are even complete words. It's probably harmless if swallowed (within the prescribed parameters anyway), but may have been intended for the mouth.
Today I noticed that underneath my tongue, at the bottom of the thing that attaches your tongue to the bottom of your mouth, is a little sore, and it may have a bump on it. I'm not sure what it is, is it just a sore, or could it be an std? My girlfriend says she doesnt have anything like that, and I believe her. But i'm to afraid to tell my mom( atleast until I know for sure that it's an std) because she would be soo upset knowing that I even made out with a girl.

They start and take about 10-15 days to heal and typically occur in same areas, back of tongue and tip of tongue. My tongue also feels hot and burns. My dr said she was pretty sure it was herpes virus that caused my cold sore, so i guess spread to the tongue. I did a swab and it came back normal but my dr said thats bc the sores had been there for several days and the swab would need to be done in the first 48hrs. Problem is, in the first two days theres nothing really there.
