The other night I was making out with this guy who I like, and I noticed that he had something that felt like a sore on his lip. Later on that night, I gave him oral sex... The next morning I woke up and found that I had a sore on each side of my tongue (they rub against my bottom molars). They hurt and look a little bit like canker sores, but I've never gotten a canker sore on my tongue, so I'm trying to find out if it's something I should be worried about...

Two weeks ago I french kissed with another guy for about 3-4 min. At the time I had a sinus infection and a few canker sores on my tongue. He told me he was hiv neg but I don't know him. Since then I've had even more canker sores on my tongue. Since I had the open sores in my mouth what are my hiv risks from this exposure (assuming he was hiv +)? Some sites say there is a risk. Do I need to do testing if this is my only possible exposure in the past 3-4 months?
Everything came back negative. After 12 weeks had passed since my sexual encounter, I noticed a painless sore under my tongue on the floor of my mouth. At that time it was small and I started rinsing my mouth with warm water and salt, thinking it was just a canker sore. 2 days passed and the sore got larger and smaller tiny sores started appearing near the larger sore. Another day passed and white papules appeared inside my cheek touching the top row of my teeth in the back.
My whole mouth broke out with the sores all at once and it was very painful. What the doctor did was take this long match stick looking thing that was either sulfur or silver nitrate and touch it to the main soar on the tip of my tongue and it burned like crazy. Then he prescribed me some medicine that completely numbed my mouth and they eventually went away. So it seems right that stress could also cause it. It was terrible pain tho and I hope you feel better soon!
Katester- I had sores in my mouth & tongue during tx. My Dr prescribed stalin, it worked. It would clear it up within a couple of days. Avoid eating mushrooms. they're a fungus & it will make it worse.

First, oral sex is safe sex. Not totally free of STD risk, but much safer than vaginal or anal sex. Second, your fatigue the next day cannot be due to any STD from that exposure. No STD can cause symptoms in less than 2-3 days.
That said, your throat symptoms conceivably could be due to herpes. Most likely not -- it is more likely that you happened to catch a garden variety upper respiratory infection at about the same time.
HIV probably has never been transmitted by kissing -- and if you think about it, on a worldwide basis there must be at least a billion kisses per day, miliions of them in the presence of canker sores, gum inflammation, or similar lesions. Yet no HIV transmission. No risk at all, even if your kissing partner had HIV.

I am currently waiting out an HIV scare, but as I do, I review certain "symptoms" that may have occurred over a period where I was a little but promiscuous.
This specific question is in regards to herpes and is why I am posting it in this forum.
I was intimate with another ale and we engaged in unprotected felatio.
Afterwich my entire tongue felt as though it had pins and needles it it. I could also describe it as burning or stinging.
About 5 months ago, I started experiencing small eroded sores on the sides of my tongue where my tongue touches my teeth, near the back of my mouth. These patches have persisted to this day.
In the beginning, it was typically just 1 small sore at a time. These sores typically had a very thin white ring around the outside edge and areas grew slowly over a course of several days, until the white ring disappeared and the patches stopped growing.
ve been tested back in January and June for oral herpes, and both times came back negative. I keep getting what seems to be a canker sore on the side of my tongue, and it appears in the same spot. It's happened 3 times in the past 4 months. I'm afraid it's herpes, what do you think? Is it typical to see recurrent herpes IN the mouth/throat as opposed to the lips/face? Please help!
A week later my tongue was burning and I had two canker sores come was burning and I had two canker sores come up. I went to the doctor and he wasn't sure so he gave me a prescription for dukes miracle mouth wash. I used that for about a week and mouth wash. I used that for about a week and the symptoms went away. I October I met the same Guy and gave him oral sex again. Stupid I know. I started getting worried and looked at my tongue and I have some bumps around the center of it.
A single sore on the tongue is unlikely to be herpes. You describe a situation with a very low risk of acquring HSV. To your questions:
1) Antiherpes treatment (with acyclovir or any other drug) does not delay antibody production or positive test results.
2) Almost zero.
3) No way to predict.
4) Probably not.
As I said, you describe a low risk situation and symptoms that are not particularly suggestive of a new herpes infection. You really have no important worries about it.
