I have hypothyroidism. I have recently had 2 episodes with alarming mouth & gum swelling, redness, some tongue swelling & sores. I figure out what these episodes happened and if they are related to my thyroid condition. I do not have any known allergies. I'm 48 yrs old. 3 Drs have said they have seen nothing like it. Histamine injections, antibiotics & in one case liquid steroids were used simultaneously and worked. Healing occurred within 1 and 3 days respectively.

I have been sick for the past week with a sore throat (which is now gone), a fever, coughing, congested, ear infectionsm losing my voice, etc.... I also often get kanker sores.. So.. recently i got 2 kanker sores in my mouth and soon afterwards i got a sore under my tongue. I thought it was a kanker sore but now im not so sure. Under my tongue i have 2 vien looking things that are... buldged out.. (they dont look like viens..

swelling and pain was do to my immune attacking my tongue ring so he took it out and an hour later swelling and pain free.....yahhhh...

If you are a young person who is relatively healthy, it could be a vitamin deficiency or it could mean you are anemic. He gave me Moxatag to take once a day for the next 10 days, told me to gargle with warm salt water every 2-3 hours, take advil one day and tylenol the next and so on, and rinse with hydrogen peroxide and water for sores. My throat is now fine, and the swelling is down. All that's left is these questionable sores. Now, on to my question about this virus. My sores are now on the front side of my tongue. It's 2 and it's white with red surrounding it.

So recently I’ve (teenager, female) been having this weird muscle-like pain at the back of my tongue on the left side. It comes and goes, often appearing after eating, drinking or a lot of talking etc. the also hurts more when I swallow and the pain sorta momentarily travels to my left ear when I do so?? Also, no physical weirdness - no swelling, sores or discolouration. My friend says she’s been experiencing the same thing so is it like contagious or something? Thank you!!

Anyone have this with their thyroid swelling? The nurse called me back yesterday and told me the dr wanted to see me. I had this before and he did not react this way. I woke up with it yesterday morning. Took 2 aleve after lunch time and it eased. Today, it was not there when I got up, but its there now. STRANGE. Just want it to stop and don't want it to be labeled anxiety. I KNOW what that feels like and this is not it.

It is a white-yellowish coating on my tongue, my tongue also has like red bumps at the back of my tongue, scalloped edges and like canker sores in the edges back deeper inside. I find this really scary! Has anyone seen anything like that before? Is that an ARS symptom? My other question is. If I do have HSV1 with on and off tingling on face, nose, tongue, lips sore on and off, eyes, numbness and burning for 2 months with various degrees of intensity, how do I know when I can perform oral sex on my partner? I am unsure of his HSV status?

I tried prodding the right base of the mouth and tongue with a cotton bud and the pain is nowhere to be found. I can only feel it when I move my tongue, but when I press the base of the tongue it does not hurt at all.

Went to out of hours dr following day who gave me 10 days penicillin V and told me to get blood test for glandular fever which I did and was negative, my full blood count showed only a slightly high eosinophil count (i have eczema which may explain this) However I started getting small blisterlike sores on soft palate and tonsils which were difficult to see but can be felt with tongue and are patchy red and feel like burning and make it difficult to swallow.

Aside from any hiv issue, under my tongue is the same. 2 red blood veins and flaps of skin and im not taking pep.

I was diagnosed with genital hsv1 in March. I never had any oral symptoms, but got my first oral outbreak in July. I got a swab test and the sore on my lip was indeed HSV1. At the same time I had severely swollen gums and ulcers on my tongue. Since then I've been having recurrent gum swelling and tongue ulcers twice a month. From what I've read, it is pretty unusual to have recurrent hsv on your tongue. Any advice or suggestions about what is going on, or why it is so bad?

And or my tongue had ulcers on it, never have I had that. The sores did some what Resemble herpes sores or syphillis sores on the tongue. That's a good indication from uretha to the mouth infection is happening, just which one.

My wife looked at it with a light and said that my taste buds around the tip of my tongue are red and irritated looking. Could this be caused my the EXTREME stress or high glucose? I also take a lot of meds, is that a possible cause? Or would you think more stress induced? Or does that sound like something more serious? Thanks again for your time and sorry for bugging you!

I was having intermittent swelling under my tongue, the back of my tongue, the back of my throat/roof of my mouth and my jaw. At first it was alot of swelling and discomfort. The swelling in my tongue became very intense and I was put on a 5 day course of prednisone while beginning daily claritin and a nasal spray. I felt great on the prednisone, all of the swelling went away and I could eat again.

Then i got a tingling sensation on my hard palate about 4 weeks later,the i have had all sorts of Ibs symptoms,have had treatment for oral thrush,my tongue is a pale white coating and also has a tingling sensation ,i have had all tests done from worry and all were negative ,i have an endoscopy in March ,but basically i am asking if anyone has experienced a constant burning tingling sensation in the mouth on the tongue
