recently i got 2 kanker sores in my mouth and soon afterwards i got a sore under my tongue. I thought it was a kanker sore but now im not so sure. Under my tongue i have 2 vien looking things that are... buldged out.. (they dont look like viens.. they looks like buldged lines in my tongue but its all i can think of that they are..) one goes to the right and one to the left.. well...there is a red bump/swelling on the left one.. it sort of swells up n ends in a kind of point..
ve been having similar issues. Sore throat at base of tongue (almost feels like an ulcer on the tongue), scalloped tongue, mild ear pain/itchiness--all this on the left--some hoarseness and coughing. ENT said he saw absolutely nothing upon scoping the throat. No blood work was done. Have a followup in 3 weeks.
This is just exhausting to me.
I mentioned thyroid at the ENT, nurse said that swelling/symptoms are usually lower, under Adam's apple.
Hi, last night I began having a strange type of pain under my tongue on the right side at the base of the mouth - the pain feels similar to a sore throat, but my throat isn't sore. I don't have a fever or swollen lymph glands. Also the pain hasn't gotten worse. I can only feel the pain if I move the tongue up or if I swallow a large amount of food. My throat doesn't have any swelling or redness or whiteness, my voice is still the same, ears are fine and gums are fine.
In any case I had a lot of pain in that area, but also there was swelling under the right side of my tongue, which was also painful. I told my uncle (who is a physician) and he told me to use Listerine when I brush my teeth, that it works as an antibiotic and the gland would go down and the pain would go away. I decided to take him up on his advice.
On Wednesday I noticed a small white dot on my tongue sore to touch, very sensitive. And at Wednesday night I had come down with a fever that lasted till Friday morning but on Friday morning I realised I had more of these spots on my tongue (3) and on my lip. Upon further inspection I noticed a swelling or lump type thing growing just before my tonsils making it hard for me to swallow. It seemed to have gone down abit but should I seek help from

I am a long-term, light smoker who recently quit. Yesterday I noticed a very small white spot on the side of my tongue. It looks like pappilae that are somewhat raise from the surface of the tongue. I don't have any swelling of the tongue but it the spot dose occasionally interfere with speech as the area is sensitive to touch and hurts when making contact with my teeth. I applied pressure to the area using my thumb and forefinger and detected no noticeable mass.
t really hurt though I can still walk normally and pee without pain but if I touch it its sore. I put some ice on it and sat in a cold bath to see if that would help and i think it did a little. I don't think it is a huge concern but I am kind of worried. Any ideas?
Hi about 4 weeks again I had a really sore tongue which quickly filled by my right top part of my tongue being really swollen and an ulcer underneath. Very annoying and gradually the tongue has now come down however I have a very solid 1cm lump left on the under side of the actual tongue towards the tip. My researching of ventral under toungue comes up as possible cancer etc as it’s more than three weeks. Would tongue cancer start this way or could I just be an infection.

If more recent, like the past week or ten days, you might try taking a Covid test. A sore throat is really common issue with Covid, and a vaccinated person might only show with that as a symptom and nothing much more.
I would wake up several times during the night gagging on the taste and smell of strong plastic and my tongue burned where it touched the palate. My throat was sore and my sinuses around my eye sockets were so painful that it hurt to wash my face. There was constant nausea and malaise. I felt as if I was coming down with the flu.
The dentist removed the lining material about 3:00 PM and within a few hours the symptoms began to reside.
My sister went through a period of time when her tongue kept swelling and she thought it was b/c of an allergic reaction to something in her diet, which ended up not being the case. It remains a mystery why this happened. She does have hypothyroid and I am wondering if lip and/or tongue swelling can be a symptom of thyroid issues.
Hello, I went to an ENT a few weeks ago and the strange areas on my tongue were geographic tongue. But my tongue is constantly white no matter how much I brush it and I have been having a sore throat as well. I am not sure why I am so worried. I brought the white tongue to the attention of the MD, but he didn't think much of it. I think it is odd. If anyone else has had any similar experiences, I would love to hear about them. Had a 32 day HIV finger test today result negative. My exposure was unprotected oral (receiving). How reliable is that test after 32 days? I know no-one has ever been documented catching it from that but I am testing to 12 weeks whatever anyone says.
Also can you catch Syphilis from kissing? I have a slight red spot on my tongue not a spot as in a swelling etc just a red bit on my tongue.
I have hypothyroidism.
I have recently had 2 episodes with alarming mouth & gum swelling, redness, some tongue swelling & sores. I figure out what these episodes happened and if they are related to my thyroid condition. I do not have any known allergies. I'm 48 yrs old.
3 Drs have said they have seen nothing like it. Histamine injections, antibiotics & in one case liquid steroids were used simultaneously and worked. Healing occurred within 1 and 3 days respectively.
The blotchiness (slightly pink, not raised, no sores, etc) had returned, on my torso. My throat, tongue and eyes were normal. The swelling and rash has dissipated slowly throughout the day. I have not changed anything (soaps, shampoo, etc) nor have been exposed to anything abnormal (food or environmental). Any ideas on what this may be???
I was diagnosed with genital hsv1 in March. I never had any oral symptoms, but got my first oral outbreak in July. I got a swab test and the sore on my lip was indeed HSV1. At the same time I had severely swollen gums and ulcers on my tongue. Since then I've been having recurrent gum swelling and tongue ulcers twice a month. From what I've read, it is pretty unusual to have recurrent hsv on your tongue. Any advice or suggestions about what is going on, or why it is so bad?
