Avatar n tn Pressure changes in this tube at times affect the flow of blood to tongue causing the tingling sensation. Facial numbness is felt even in accompanying sinusitis along with Eustachian tube block. High blood pressure, diabetes and thyroid problems should be ruled out and so also cervical spondylitis causing pressure on the nerves. This needs a more detailed investigation and probably you should consult your doctor and get yourself examined. You may need to undergo some tests too.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with MS nearly 4 years ago and am happy to say that I've been living with it quite well. Well enough, in fact, that this is the first time I've visited a forum such as this. I have some tingling in my right hand and right foot with some occasional coordination issues on my right side but overall live the same active lifestyle that I always have. Has anyone experienced any numbness or tingling on their tongue?
Avatar f tn The numbness and tingling could be due to your wisdom tooth. Impacted wisdom tooth can cause TMJ and numbness and tingling of tongue. It could also be related to neck-tongue syndrome. There is upper nuchal (neck) or occipital pain on one side, with or without numbness in these areas. This is accompanied by simultaneous ipsilateral (same side) numbness of the tongue. This numbness is caused by compression of the second cervical root (C2) in the atlantoaxial space. .
2030686 tn?1351688548 I'm a week and a half into double therapy, took my second pegasys shot on monday. I've noticed over the last week that I've had a slight numbness/tingling in my lips and the tip of my tongue. I had a seizure last wednesday and they also doubled my seizure meds. Has anyone else had this with tx? I'm thinking it could also be from the increase in seizure meds or after effects of the seizure, and I really don't know which dr to call about it.
Avatar f tn properly, I have numbness and tingling in my half of my chin, cannot feel teeth 1-4, I had numbness in my tongue as well but just for few days. At least I had to sign paper that if they remove it I will not go to court to them, they said that nerve was damaged and it could heal or it could be permanent. I think it is called paresthesia. Anyway having head aches since that 6 weeks, on paracetamol all the time and it seems I have to have another 2 wisdom done because getting gums infections.
Avatar n tn Is it common to have tongue numbness and lips numbness with fibro? It also seems i every day i get a new symptom is this normal also?
Avatar n tn I have been experiencing slight numbness, more of a tingling sensation on the right tip of my tongue when i yawn or open my jaw really wide. I don't have chronic numbness or any pain. I do have occasional ear pain. My dentist took a Panoramic xray, but it turned out a bit grainy. He states he has never heard of tingling in the tongue when yawning, he thinks it is nothing. I am unsure as to where to go now. Please help me. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Central nervous conditions can also present initially with numbness and tingling, but usually associated with other neurologic symptoms like weakness, or other manifestations. The history is very important as well as the exam. Regarding the predominance of symptoms on the right upper extremity, this, as you suggest, may be caused by some compression of a nerve, however the exact distribution of the problems will help to determine the location and the diagnosis.
Avatar n tn I have also had a numb tounge. It started with a odd, salty tatse in my mouth and my tounge is numb from the tip to about an inch down. I also have numbness spreading across my cheeks and chin and this morning up my nose. I am taking toporol for BP. My Dr. ordered MRI with contrast and blood tests. I go for results this a.m. Was fishing around for some alternatives to Multiple Sclerosis, Myasthenia Gravis.
559187 tn?1330782856 The numbness and tingling are on the tip and right side of tongue. Sometimes it even itches. I've had thrush a few times, but this doesn't look like thrush as there and there is no yeasty white coating. This even affects my talking. Any ideas?
Avatar n tn Hi there. Numbness or tingling in the tongue also known as paresthesia, occur most commonly due to damage to the nervous system. Damage to the lingual nerve supplying the tongue as a complication of dental procedures like wisdom tooth extraction, implants or root canal procedures. Other conditions could be stroke. Sometimes these can involve the lips or jaw. Calcium and vitamin B complex deficiency needs to be addressed. Consult an oral surgeon for assessment of possibilities. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Frankly, at the time, the head pain (which I thought I could attribute to a clear cause which was a disc bulging) was less worrying to me than loss of ability to walk without assistance (which could be related to a disc problem, but combined with the numbness and tingling in my face AND the numbness/tingling/weakness in my fingers became more disconcerting than anything else).
Avatar m tn THIS NUMBNESS WAS ALWAYS VARIABLE. IT WAS NEVER THE SAME. IT ALWAYS CHANGED. SOMETIMES IT WOULD BE NEXT TO NOTHING WHILE AN HOUR LATER I COULDN'T FEEL ANYTHING. At the moment, my right lip and left side of my tongue are seemingly permanently numb, while recently (probably two to three days ago), parts of my right leg have started to get numb randomly. If I stretch it during the night, by the morning the numbness is usually gone. The numbness comes when I'm lying down.
382218 tn?1341181487 ve had lots of tongue and mouth tingling and numbness, mainly on the left. So every time I even hear the words, I think of a flare, not a med. reaction.
Avatar f tn Thank you all for making me feel so welcome!! It's nice to chat with people who are dealing with the same things. I'm still having numbness and tingling on the left side of my mouth and tongue. Is it normal for my mouth and tongue to swell every time I eat or talk? This is getting very annoying.I've had tingling on the left side of my face but not numbness or swelling. I had a wisdom tooth pulled on the right side last Friday.
Avatar f tn As a child, I once had an episode of traveling numbness. From one toe, across my foot, up the entire side of my body (down one side of the arm, across the fingers, back up to the shoulder), across my face (including one side, then the other of my tongue), and down again, until it ended at the toe where it had begun. No one knew what it could have been, or if I had only imagined it. After the (vaginal) birth of my third daughter, I lost a lot of blood with a retained placenta.
Avatar n tn There is only one at a time and it usually only lasts for about 1/2 hour or so, but this one I have now has lasted for a few days and has caused my entire lower lip to swell. They are hard and cause tingling and numbness. The tingling comes first, then the numbness and then the lip swells. When I push outward with my tongue, you can see a white bump that resembles a mosquito bite...any ideas? Thank you very much!
Avatar f tn About 3 months ago i went to the dentist to get three fillings put in on my right side of my mouth on the lower molars. The numbness has not worn off and it is scaring me as it now has a burning tingling sensation through it from time to time, i called and went back to see my dentist a few days afterwards and he says to me it will take 3 months to heal as he using a strong numbing injection as it was 3 fillings done at once.
Avatar n tn I still do not have feeling in the tip of my tongue, and when I chew I get tingling sensations under my tongue on the right side. I have started to worry because no feeling has returned. The idea of the mental nerve makes sense although I have since has another dentist look at the tooth and he says the x-rays show a slight bulging on the root which might indicated the first dentist over filled it. Should I have the root canal reversed before the crown is put on the tooth?
Avatar f tn I talked to my ENT today because the symptoms worsened. He says my test results look fairly good (the T3 is a little low) and thinks that the 100 mcg may have been too much. He told me to skip tomorrow's dose and come in to the office to see him. We will talk about next steps then.
