Avatar f tn The scan showed that I have bilateral ovarian neoplasms measuring 11 cm x12cm x10 cm each side with internal solid components with contrast enhancing areas. A recent ca125 test result of 13. I cannot get in to see a specialist until march. I also have been suffering from a swelling in my throat.. Pehaps like a goiter ... Could these two be related!? Should I be concerned ?
Avatar n tn Neoplasms can be primary or secondary. Primary neoplasms are those that originate from the organ itself (like breast cancer originating from the breast tissues themselves). Secodary neoplasms are those that come from other organs (like liver neoplasms which are metastases from a colon cancer). Calcifications of the breast are a sign of neoplastic growth, most commonly due to DCIS, which is a pre-malignant lesion (or a pre-breast cancer). Regards.
Avatar n tn However, there is a subtype of breast lumps that do not show up on ultrasound or mammogram. These are the lobular neoplasms or LCIS. This can be manifested on tests like breast MRI. The surgeon consult should be fruitful, and I believe you should discuss this option of MRI when you get to meet him. Regards.
967261 tn?1247502015 Statistics suggest that about 90% of intussusceptions in adults are caused by a definite underlying disorder. These include neoplasms or postoperative conditions. Neoplasm unfortunately is the most common cause - about 65% - but that leaves a fairly large percentage that aren't due to neoplasms so don't think the worst.

Avatar f tn Nonspecific T8 vertebral body lesion as described above. This may represent an atypical hemangioma, thought other neoplasms cannot excluded. Dedicated nuclear bone scan is recommended. 2.finding compatible with typical begin hemangioma in the T9 3. Small disc protrusion at the T7-T8 with no significant central canal or foramina narrowing 4. Perinural cyst in the right T11-T12 neural foramen as above.
Avatar m tn Oncologic Oncologic side effects have included malignant neoplasms occurring at a rate of 8.4 per 1000 patient-years. Hepatocellular carcinoma has been reported in 6% of entecavir-treated patients with hepatic decompensation. Do you think the risk of taking the entecavir outweigh this severe (though remote) side effect? Do you think there is a need to switch to tenofovir? I have taken entecavir 0.5mg for more than 6 years. Many thanks.
577797 tn?1217907590 I have also been recently diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and more recently with possible Horner's Syndrome (different doctors). I also have facial flushing and anhidrosis of the left side of my face (also a Horners symtom). There are cases where Horners can result from thyroid neoplasms as well as Hasimoto's. I am scheduled for an MRI next week and will update my condition after my next visit with my Neurologist.
Avatar f tn Pancreatic cystic lesions can represent pseudocysts (if history of pancreatitis or trauma), sidebranch IPMN (benign), serous cystic neoplasm (benign), or mucinous cystic neoplasms (not benign). It is helpful to include MRCP sequences for better evaluation of biliary and pancreatic ducts. Elevated lipase levels are suggestive of pancreatitis, but like any lab value should be interpreted in conjunction with clinical symptoms. Your doctor will be able to help piece this all together.
Avatar n tn Here's a definition of follicular neoplasms from thyroid-cancer-net: http://www.thyroid-cancer.net/topics/what+is+a+follicular+neoplasm "Follicular neoplasms are thyroid nodules that may be benign or may be a form of thyroid cancer. Avatar n tn Covering the heart is a sac (pericardium) that contains between 15 and 50 mL of fluid that acts as a lubricant between the 2 layers of the pericardium. There can be an abnormal increase of fluids and that can apply pressure to the heart muscle that impairs the dilation during inspiration. Cause can be an injury of the pericardium that causes increased production of pericardial fluid.
Avatar f tn Basically you are one that needs frequent colonoscopy's. I am not sure on how long it takes for neoplasms to grow, if you have health insurance from your work or what not you may be able to request them yearly. Being worried is human, but at least you were able to find out about the polyps while they were easily extracted. You might be able to talk to your PCP too see what he or she thinks.

Avatar n tn The term neoplasm simply means an abnormal mass of tissue that results when cells divide more than they should or do not die when they should. Neoplasms are also termed 'tumors.' Tumors may be benign (not cancerous), or malignant (cancerous). It may be difficult to go beyond the statement that there is a mass at the tail of the pancreas without further tests and evaluation.
Avatar f tn Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are neoplasms that arise from cells of the endocrine (hormonal) and nervous systems. Many are benign, while some are malignant. They most commonly occur in the intestine, where they are often called carcinoid tumors, but they are also found in the pancreas, lung and the rest of the body. Pheochromocytoma is most common in people between the ages of 40 and 60. I am NOT a doctor and most certainly am NOT an oncologist.
