Avatar m tn The swelling and pain could also be due to mastoiditis, which is infection of the bone behind the ear. This happens when there is a middle ear infection, which spreads to involve the mastoid bone. The coating of the tongue could be due to steroid inhalers if you are using them for the wheeze. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. In the meantime you can use OTC Acetaminophen for relief from pain.  Regards.
215220 tn?1191456864 This type of neuralgia is rare and is usually one sided. The pain can be felt in the throat, tonsillar region, back of the tongue (not front), and even the ear. The pain can be triggered by various activities such as laughing, chewing, coughing, speaking, etc. The treatment is similar to that of trigeminal neuralgia. Medicines such as carbamazepine and phenytoin have had some success. Surgical decompression of the nerve is an option if the pain continues despite optimal medical treatment.
Avatar f tn at the bifurcation of the left carotid artery You must probably be having CAROIDYNIA (it is a form of vascular neck and face pain in which the vascular change occurs in the carotid artery in the neck). 18752550 tn?1467589515 So I did some research and read that eardrops would not be useful if the water is stuck behind the eardrum so I went and bought some otc earache dissoluble tablets that you place under the tongue made for swimmer's ear, allergys, and colds. So I was just wondering could I get an ear an infection that quickly? This is the first time I swam in weeks aswell and should I seek a doctor's opinion or just gives these tablets a try?
Avatar n tn I also get a strange feeling in my throat and feel the need to cough/clear my throat. My tongue also feels funny. The longer I hold/use the phone, the worse it gets. If I put the phone away, the taste/feeling lingers for a few minutes and then goes away. I cleaned the phone with alcohol; but didn't make a difference. I normally hold the phone with my left hand to my left ear. It's worse on the left side than the right side.
Avatar f tn I bit my tongue over a week ago; right at the back where the tongue meets the neck / throat. Immediately I felt a presence of something on the left side of my head. Almost feels like I can trace a circle from back of my ear up thru my head to front of the ear, including the throat on the left side only. My scalp in that area is so sensitive to touch, feels like my hair hurts. I actually had a hair appt. and thought I would cry when she brushed or touched that side of my head .
1458882 tn?1287094623 yes I have the ear thing all the time hurts like the devil I bet the ear that hurts real bad is a very dark red if you look at in the mirror too.
Avatar m tn Licked girlfriends ear. Tongue was inside her ear canal just being stupid. She pulled away. I think I had a grip on her ear with my tongue also. Not sure as it was so fast. Her ear hurt and she lost hearing. Hurt so much she started crying. Almost a day later she says it's hurting less and hearing is better but it still hurting and hearing is hard. Is this serious? What should we do?
Avatar n tn m almost completely deaf in my left ear other then high tones/ pitches. Now its in my right ear, which I have a hearing aid. I still get the pressure, squeeky sounds. After all tests and MRIs the only thing found was a thornwalt system back behind my nose, cin which case has nothing to do with my hearing loss. Blood tests all normal. Blood pressure elevated that's it for health issues. After seeing a few doctors my Sent told me that my hearing loss is from the shingles virus.
Avatar m tn I was in the Caymans in earlyJan and I had some oral contact with a local professional women who is separated with 3 kids. Met her at a local bar with her girlfriend and stupid me went home with her and had some kissing and I gave her some oral. She touched my penis with her mouth but not much happened. No type of sex or semen. However I was exposed to her vagina fluids on my mouth and tongue. My mouth is healthy. I am married and never have contact outside of marriage.
Avatar m tn t mean genital zone (well, that, too) Anywhere the skin is thinnest - wrists, inner arms, back of knees, inner thighs, temples, behind the ears, groin area where the leg joins the body, lower back ... anywhere the skin is thinnest, that's where the nerve endings are right there - Licks, nibbles, light touch (fingernails work great) ... experiment and have fun ;) ps - these are also the areas that massage can be tricky in - too heavy a touch can hurt, and too light will tickle.
Avatar n tn I am 54 - 2/18 contacted my regular dentist - after discussion what I was feeling she called in an antibiotic for me with instructions to come in Monday (was after hours). On 2/20 when to my regular dentist with pain it was from a previous root cannel tooth that had cracked on the side and become infected. They referred me to an oral surgeon. On 2/23/22 I had #31 molar removed on the left side.

Avatar n tn Sore throat with swollen lymph nodes in the neck should be investigated for infectious mononucleosis. In a person infected with infectious mononucleosis the EBV remains dormant in cells in the throat and blood for the rest of the person's life. Periodically, the virus can reactivate without or without symptoms of illness and can be found in the saliva of infected persons.
Avatar m tn Hey johnnty! I was wondering if you have taken care of your problem and want to listen to my story. My right ear would make noises in rhythm with other external noises. Like if I'm typing, the ear would be producing noises imitating the rhythm of typing. This can also happen with other noises. Like I'd be holding my phone to my left ear - and the right ear would be crackling synchronously with my friend's voice on the phone.
Avatar f tn Since then my left side jaw, ear, tongue and lower teeth are paining it’s been over a month and dentist say I shouldn’t be in this much pain so I went to ENT doctor and was sent for a ct scan.
Avatar n tn s tongue, or sucking on a battery.( primarily on the tip of my tongue and the back where the spit glands are but overall the whole mouth). At first it didn't seem to be a worry, something that was actually kinda interesting, but now it has been 3 days or so and I am still sensing it. I've tried drinking water, eating some salt, etc, but nothing seems to have much affect for more than a minute or so before it comes back.
Avatar f tn s connected (started recently), pain/tightness - what feels like a super tight muscle knot/ball - at the back base of my jaw right below the ear, ear tube pain, ringing in my ears, more so on the right side, which also hurts more. Have a small (unmovable) lump on right side in mouth almost directly under bottom molars. Hasn't changed in size in the year since I noticed it, but a lot of the pain in my ears/throat is right around there.
Avatar m tn The most common cause of pulsatile tinnitus is noisy blood flow as blood pushes through plaques or kinks in the arteries in the head or neck. It can be made worse if there is also hypertension. Several types of fistulas in the blood vessels of head and neck, especially the carotid artery or jugular vein can also cause this. Increased blood flow as seen in anemia and hyperthyroid state can also cause pulsatile tinnitus. Fluid in middle ear can be another cause.
Avatar f tn It subsided on the right side but now there is a constant dull ache deep in my left ear which worsen when i move my tongue. It definitely triggers it sometimes swallowing too. I didnt got the flu or anything actually my gp looked in my ear not long ago and said everything looks just fine. Pain feels like its from the base of my tongue to my ear. Avatar m tn Ok this might be kinda of lengthy but I'll do my best to keep it short. Anyway, since about October of 08' I noticed a slight little pain/ache to the left of my sternum. It would come and go. Well then one night I noticed a very minute ammount of blood swirl in my saliva. I had pulled it up out of my throat. So due to this I went to my local doctor. He pawned it off as a sinus infection.
