I've had similar symptoms of pain in the tip of my tongue for several months. While I have NO white bumps, and have suffered no burns, the tip of my tongue has a different appearance from the rest of it- it appears darkened, redder, visibly different. For about a month the sensitivity went away and my tongue was normal. Just recently the pain has returned. I can't blame it on any specific foods, drinks, toothpaste or mouthwash, nor can I explain its temporary absence and re-emergence.

Twice in the past few days my labrador has stopped eating his dinner midway through and just stood there looking concerned and sticking his tongue out or looking like he is having issues with his tongue, After a few minutes of standing with him reassuring him he's ok he seems to go back to normal, and finishes his tea. I can't find any possible reasons for this on the net, never seen this before, haven't changed his food or anything and he's fine apart from this.
Normal ekg, normal blood work. Conditions have gone to pain chest area, feeling of swelling of throat and tongue, sometimes nausea. If I walk consistently for 35 minutes all symptoms leave rapidly, and start again with next walk. If I take a nitro tablet all symptoms disappear under 1 minute. Conditions now include an increased movement with a lost of breath deep into chest. Sometimes feels like a stabbing pain. Sometimes chest heaviness now present without exercise at rest.
For all of you out there searching the web for answers..... I had my wisdom teeth removed 3 years ago. About 3 days after the surgery I knew something wasn't right. My entire mouth was dead numb. I couldn't talk right or chew food without my tongue getting in the way.

I can imagine how uncomfortable this pain is for you when you are trying to sleep! I really think that you need to got to your Doctor and let him check you out.
Any suggestions for pain? its like a pinching/stinging pain and it shoots down my tongue n throat.. and jaw...
Tongue orange-yellow, the middle of the tongue papillae with brown-black ends. Strong gnawing eyes.
Tightness on the right side of ribs and the side as well as on the back above the waist on the right. On the neck and shoulders appeared on red rash. Insomnia, trouble falling asleep.
Transferred analysis: AnitiHIV, AntiHCV, both results were negative.
One month later the following symptoms:
On the neck and shoulder rash disappeared.
But what concerns me is the off and on pain on the upper right side and left side too.. almost under my breastbone, but seems to be upper stomach? Its sharp but doesn't stay all day... off and on... could this be from my meals and the acid reflux?
s a bit more red than theaverage geographical tongue. Moving my tongue and tensing my tongue hurts as well(it hurts the spot only). I had my wisdom teeth removed a few days ago and i've been using Colgate Savacol Antiseptic mouthwash to clean my mouth and i have a feeling the burning sensation caused this red patch on my tongue but i'm not sure. Is it geographical tongue?
As I talk, that area gets very stiff. It then aches - like a Charlie horse. It Nearly freezes my tongue and it hurts! I have been to 3 ENT’s, my dentist, oral surgeon and even my GP. I have had tons of blood work done, as well as a CT scan. I did learn I have the MTHFT gene mutation and started taking methyfolate and other vitamins to help. Overall, though, no issues in my blood that would be related to this condition.
In June, I had a piece taken out to see what it was.
I don´t have a sore throat but I do still have a lot of fur on my tongue but I have a pain running down the right side of my neck, my right side collar bone hurts a little and I´ve got the same burning under my arm pits and a little further down.
Any idea as to what this could be as I´m starting to get concerned. About me, I´m a 34 year old slim male, I´m currently taking malarone as a prophylaxis.
Someone with my condition- its feels like small cuts all over the tongue. Really burns, miserable and hurts. It feels really raw and when i first had this condition i lost eight pounds as i really couldn’t eat anything. I slowly started to introduce some foods back and now know my, limit so to speak. Three biscuits will be fine maybe- ten will rip my tongue to shreds!! I ADORED tomatoes, but now have to be careful, same as lemon and tangerines. I’ve had this for just over two years.
And whenever I moved my tongue wrong or move the barbell it sends a sharp shooting pain through the left side of my tongue. I have been taking advil like every 2 hours to help with the pain but, it doesnt help. I don't know if I should leave in the barbell for a couple more days to see what happens or if should get it taken out in the morning.
just because it hurts does not mean it is a dry socket. But if indeed you have a dry socket, packing and repacking PROMOTES proper healing and is usually indicated. In stubborn cases, sometimes the dentist needs to currette the socket lining and actually CAUSE new bleeding to promote proper healing. I'd see an oral surgeon and have it evaluated.
I went to the dentist six days ago to have a crown procedure done. After the pain medication wore off I felt fine with no pain. The next day I was fine for the most part but started to get pain in the gum area where the procedure took place. Each day now the pain had spread and moved all along my gums on the side of the mouth the procedure took place. I am still wearing my temporary crown and will be for a total of three weeks due to the fact their lab is out of state.
