Common Questions and Answers about Tongue growth on dogs

tongue

Avatar m tn Hello all. 3 days ago, i noticed while rubbing my tongue on the roof of my mouth, i have a slightly raised 'bump' approximately 2x1 cm in diameter, a mm or 2 in height. It is pretty diffue and firm, starts at the junction of the soft and hard palate, and comes about 2cm down towards the front of the mouth. Its width starts at the very middle ridge of the hard palate and goes about a cm to the left. It is not painful, but doesnt seemed to have changed at all in the past 3 nights.
Avatar m tn The only other things I have going on that MAY be related, is an upper back pain/numbness... unknown cause. Been going on for years though. No diagnosis. So basically I'm out of ideas, and about to go insane. It's terrible at night not being able to sleep because of that feeling, and not being able to sleep with my girlfriend because I keep her awake with my constant moving around and itching...
Avatar n tn I get the little bumps on my hands (palms mostly but sometimes up on my fingers depending on the severity of the "break out") and on my feet (much rarer). I went to the doctor for it as a child eveytime it happened and after years of lotions, creams and steroids it still is hasn't gone away, although I've started to note patterns of break outs and they've gotten less frequent and severe. I've found at least 3 seperate triggers that cause break outs for me. The first is stress.
Avatar n tn I too seem to suffer the exact symptoms, as is always the case it is nice to know you are not the only one suffering these symptoms. For me they seem to come and go and are mostly on my right & left arm & right leg, I have also had on occasions small blisters on the roof of my mouth towards the back (I am not sure if this could be linked but having thought about it a bit the thought now crosses my mind).
Avatar f tn I have same itchy, red, raised bump recurring on same cheek as well. It started when we began treating my dogs demodectic mange. Every time he gets a dip, I get a flare. I found out that the mites, although they cannot reproduce in human skin, can burrow for a couple days, which may be why it goes away after couple days. It's worse when I'm run down, immune system more susceptible.
Avatar f tn there is a spot on my nose that i've rubbed raw washing, trying to get these "things" out of my pores. these are not whiteheads, nor blackheads. these are clusters of white or fleshy hard and sticky plugs-- not filled with anything, but they stick straight out from the pores. They are not bumps. If I rub the area w/ a towel they do not rub off at all. I tried to remove one with tweezers, and it was very tacky (as in sticky) and clearly goes deep under the skin.
Avatar m tn They seem to love the trash and the sink (different fly?). Up to 6 months ago I felt like a bug was crawling on me when I sat on my couch and bed (different apartment), our first assumption was bed bugs and we treated the house (using bombs) for these, the crawling feeling slowed but never fully stopped. We recently moved (2 months ago) and I felt the same thing on the couch and bed, even worse actually. So much so that we had to throw the couch out.

Avatar m tn Hi my dog Jessie a king charles spaniel about 7-8 years old was diagnosed with cancer about 7 mounths ago it had a growth on its mouth the lower gum and had also got growths on the side of her eye about four mounths ago and on her leg in the last month they said they could do little more than provide her with steroids.
Avatar n tn of nose growing constant for 2 years...but looking back blaming on sinus for up to 7-8 years. Over last 2 years I have been to ENT who has said nothing wrong...2nd opinion...nothing wrong with sinuses...aching over entire body, with more severe and weakness in legs, 2 drs. diag. fibromyalgia, 2 rheumat. said Not fibromyal., have seen Endrocrin...with results on 26th Oct...unofficial from GP...she thinks it is Rheum...I asked her to check growth hormone, no comment from her....
Avatar n tn The only other details I can offer is that a few days before she got sick we walked through a wooded trail in Philadelphia where both dogs were not on a leash and meandered through the bushes and such. I also found a tick on her the next day, though her Lymes test was normal. My other dog has not shown any sign of illness at all and they are very close - sleep together, clean each other, etc. So I'm assuming that whatever it is is not contagious.
Avatar m tn I'm gaining my memory back daily --- what was once a struggle to recall - is now on the tip of my tongue. So - I can say that I'm finally getting better in a lot of ways. It could be the HCV causing the memory problems and if you SVR - you might just get your memory back... I dunno. Each person is different. Hugs! LMAO - at your descriptions --- I've done the elevator thing... I've also killed gallons of milk on the counter --- or opened 4 or 5 cans of soda.
Avatar n tn She is at the very severe end of the disease apparantly, it having progressed very quickly and can only open her mouth about 1.5 cm. She is on steroids to slow the growth and is doing really well on them. They seem to have helped enormously with the pain. The vet thought about tube feeding her but can't open her mouth enough to intubate her for the op. She does manage to eat very well though at the moment.
Avatar n tn This pressure like feeling is a dull ache, burning sensation that sits on the top portion of my head. It will come and go, but when I feel the "pressure" it will last for days.It also changes sides and will radiate down to my jaw. This feeling will subside when I weight lift , run and sleep. I have worked out with weights for over 10 years and used to compete in body building. I am not sure if maybe I pinched a nerve or not?

Avatar f tn I have dry mouth alot.. crack on my tongue down the middle.. a white coating.. my ENT says I have some kind of growth on the base of my tongue and put me on heartburn medicine?? weird! My husband has many spider angiomas on his nose.. I have a couple.. He has them all over his chest.. I've noticed a couple more cherry angiomas on our bodies and I read those are from busted capillaries. Our blood pressure has been getting higher (prehypertension).
Avatar m tn I do this with my tongue - I'll place it on the roof of my mouth so it almost forms a seal and then I'll close my mouth and force air in through my nose while pulling my tongue downwards. Please help ME!!!!! I'm willing to undergo any procedure, surgery, medication, etc.... and I'm beginning to get desperate. It's been one hell of 1.5 years. Please!!!!!

1623561 tn?1299944237 Here is a link to what I found to be the best resource on managing kidney failure in dogs. It explains lab results, medications and includes a tremendous amount of dietary information. Take your time and read through it. I'm sure you'll find some things there to generate a conversation with your vet. Meanwhile, enjoy every moment you have with your dog. You've obviously taken great care of your buddy for many years and I'm sure you'll continue now that he's in his final weeks and months.
996946 tn?1503252712 The main reason for me having suspicions is that I have gone through kidney failure with one of my dogs this year and I did a whole lot of research on the issues and challenges it brings. Do let me know how things progress.
Avatar f tn The best part of the chicken (for kd dogs) is the darker meat from thighs and legs. You can keep the skin on the chicken meat, as this helps provide useful fat and energy. However, I noted earlier in your post that your dog has suffered from pancreatitis - and excessive fat in the diet can induce bouts of pancreatitis, so it's something to keep an eye on. Eggs "can" also be a good addition to the diet of kd dogs ... BUT ...
Avatar m tn All i can say it that i hate the pheno side effects my dog has we are taking him off it all together and trying herb meds.My dog as not living a normal life and it is sad he is only 6 .All i can say is if your pet is on it please try some thing else if he is having bad side effects.Do you know that if your dog is having bad side effects and you take him off phen that them side effect can still be there the rest of his or her life IT IS NOT WORTH IT PLUS GIVES THEM LIVER DAMAGE .

748543 tn?1463449675 Brody, relied heavily on out dated and narrow perspective supplied to her by a small group of dentists. The information provided to her would lead one to believe that TMD ( or "TMJ' as it is wrongly called by many) is easy to treat and self-manage or that it may all be in the patient's mind. The sources in the article stated that, "TMJ problems were originally thought to be caused by dental Malocclusion but that this was an infrequent cause of the problem".
Avatar f tn lol I love children, so long as I can cuddle and play with them, then call mom/dad to deal with the issues; I'm a bit weak on cats, because we have dogs, but as long as you agree to clean up the hair and take care of litter boxes, every day, I think we'd be good to go...... You are welcome here, but of course, I haven't told hubby any of this. LOL teko and I are both getting old, so maybe you'd want to split your visit? ......... just so WE wouldn't get sleep deprived......
Avatar m tn common sense would tell me click on the support option... but if you click on post on either side... it gives you the same drop down options... so I have NO Idea which option... maybe it doesn't matter & all options post to the particular forum that you happen to be in..?? My stupid question was gonna be about post TX weight issues...
203342 tn?1328740807 My dog became very lethargic, his breathing was very very heavy, he was unable to hold his urine(peeing all over the house and on our bed), he was not eating(dogs with cushings love to eat), sleeping, not drinking water (dogs with cushings drink lots of water), he had to be carried to go do his pee, he would not go on walks, all he did was sleep. One day he went to do his number 2 and it was all blood and blood clots and he was very anemic.
Avatar n tn That is the way that I feel about putting my dog down in December. On this site I have read regrets about putting dogs down (which I feel it is part of the grieving process)....as well as those whose dogs died naturally while suffering from an illness, regret that they didn't put their dog down sooner, because they didn't want any unnecessary suffering. Either way it goes...we all wonder but we all did the RIGHT THING.
Avatar f tn Like I said on another thread........What is said on these posts are no worse than what goes on and what you hear on FOX, CNN and MSNBC.......except for people being called baby killers or things like some people should burn in hell.<<<Didn't come from my side of the fence.
