Avatar n tn That's a pretty broad post. Can you afford a personal trainer at a gym? That way you can tell them what you want and they can get you started. You'll only get "huge" legs if you do tons of leg resistance exercises (and if you have the genetic ability to get them without taking steroids, which is unlikely unless you have large legs to begin with).
Avatar f tn My fiance has been twitching his mouth involuntarily for the past 3mos--now in the past 48hrs its graduated to pushing his tongue into the back of his lower teeth with his mouth open or pushing his tongue to the front of his lower teeth behind his lower lip--he says he's just stressed with work and family and its coming out like this--but he can't stop it. Its disturbing to watch. He is also a nail bitter.

Avatar m tn But I have also a friend that had a surgery on head and then a nerve got hurt and she has a numbness and more problems related to that, she is doing some facial exercises (move all the muscles she can) and they say that the nerve will grow back. She is on the way to recovery. So what I am trying to say is dont worry for now, you should maby do face exercises to help your recovery. Because I would think that you have hit some nerve when you fell, so now it just has to heal.

Avatar f tn Despite the vertigo being resolved, what I seem to have now is a forward head posture, stiff muscles and joints in the jaw, neck and shoulders and hips. But most of all I have breathing issues and the sides of my neck, shoulder and jaw seem all jammed up . I used to have severe restriction in my rib cage which affected my breathing. My physio gave me some exercises which helped fix this and my breathing is better.

Avatar f tn Once you are able to walk short distances unassisted, it is important to regain the strength in your leg muscles with resistance exercises. You can do the early rehab exercises with light ankle weights or resistance bands, and you can ride a stationary bike at varying degrees of resistance to strengthen your muscles and work on your range of motion at the same time. Consider taking yoga or tai chi classes.

Avatar m tn I was really hoping for an option to track exercises specific to the neck. These exercises only work the neck and no other parts of the body, and I don't prefer a really vague category. Avatar m tn Yes, some kids do have a delay in speaking and it is meaningless. They begin talking in full sentences. I think that I'd talk to your pediatrician about it, however. I always think checking in with an expert is helpful. Perhaps they will have some suggestions for you on how to bring about speech. Or if there is a bigger issue, they can begin to address it as early intervention can do wonders.

BUT I have the serious advantage of working on a college campus with a state of the art gym facility, complete with indoor track and swimming pool. At lunchtime I walk a leisurely 1/2-1 mile on the track and do strength training with the weight machines- this is 3-4 days a week in a very air-conditioned (translation: cold) building.

What a great question. May I add posture and/or muscle status to your breathing query. I think that they go hand in hand. When I have flares or during treatments at my physicians office I have been instructed on breathing techniques. I tend to hold part of my breath in or breath as if I were in labor.
