Im 30, male, healthy until all of a sudden six weeks ago i got severly sick. Symptoms included fever, mildly swollen but painful lymph nodes, night sweats and oral sores. These symptoms lasted three weeks. Then I became fatigued and started getting blood blisters and purpura inside my mouth on the insides of my cheeks.

I see you also posted a similar question in the cancer community. There is absolutely no possibility of oral cancer from your recent oral sex experience. The risk of that is near zero, and if were to happen, it would be 10-20 years or more after exposure.

The symptoms I am having is like so many other things, including allergies, cancer and tonsillitis. I have found photos that say cancer then some say tonsillitis. They all look so much alike! How do I know the difference?! If they look alike and symptoms are alike how are the doctors so confident that it is just tonsillitis?? Someone please help! Thanks.

Hi I have had a white tongue for 3 years....sometimes i forget about it other times it worries me....i developed this thick white patch on my tongue ten days after a sexual encounter for which i believe i acquired hpv....i have had numerous hiv tests up to 3 yrs which are negative....do you have any advice....as it some times is uncomfortable and I have to numb it out by eating spicy food?..I visited several GP's who to date have no answers....

1 day after my encounter I had a red spot on the tip of my tongue that was a bit painful. 2de day the middle of my upper lip swelled slightly and was red and more red spots that would keep moving day to day on my tongue. I also got an extreme metallic taste in my mouth and at this point unable to drink anything hot or eat spicy food. My bottom lip also started to swell especially on the inside, it almost looked like a translucent coating.

The following day I had a irritated/burning sensation on my tongue (felt like I burned it with hot liquid) that lasted for a week. At the same time my eyes started to get red so I ditched my contacts for a week and still have redness in one eye 2 weeks later (I have no previous history/issues with my eyes like this). What is the risk that I have an STD based on the symptoms above? There is a syphilis outbreak in a nearby city that has me worried.

Hello i am a 26 year old male, my doctor told me the most probably thing is that i may have IBS, i been having cramps, bloating, constipations, my tool has yellow mucus, and red blood surrounding it, my tongue has become white, whit red bumps in the back, i got some kind of pain in my throt, are this symptoms from IBS or something more serious like cancer, im dead scared of cancer, i cant even sleep.

Many photos are not herpes that you find on Google. Herpes on the tongue is exceptionally rare. However this is not altogether relevant; you very likely have an oral HSV1 infection.

luckily we caught it early and within a two months of diagnosis i am now cancer free. ask your dentist for an oral cancer mouth exam every time you get your teeth cleaned. if you have any doubts get it checkout. and try and quit smoking...it's for your best interest.

I recently developed some lateral tongue changes near the posterior visual edge. The changes are just in front of the lingual tonsils and may even be lingual tonsils Im just not sure. There is some minor pain like I can feel that there's something going on/irritation. Has become more prominent Id say in the past week. I do grind my teeth fairly significantly. Hello, Since 1 and a half year ago I noticed some white spots on my left side of the tongue. Usually one white small (1-2 mm) spot appears and then begins to grow in a bigger circle with white margins and red interior until it disappears a week later. The appearance seems to change every day.

At 52 days I got an HIV rapid blood test that came out negative. At 67 days I noticed a couple sores on my tongue in the back left corner so I freaked out and at 72 days I got another rapid blood test that was also negative. The sores disappeared about a day after. A week ago at day 81 after my exposure my boyfriend got a flu virus that scared me even more thinking maybe I have HIV and I gave it to him.

I did have a bit of an itch 2 daus after sex but tgat has all stopped now (body itch). i dont have thick white tongue etc like when i look at photos online, but to me its noticable. please help.
