Avatar m tn The bulimia can cause the oral thrush. If the gel isn't working then you need to go back to the doctor and get a different medication. Bulimia can also cause you to have gum, teeth, and esophageal problems. Long-term bulimia can cause harm to many organ systems. If you haven't already figured it out, its not a good thing to do and should NEVER be used as a diet aid. Go out and get some exercise.
Avatar n tn yes...but my gastro said he has never seen cancer from bulimia in 30 years of practice...good news!
Avatar n tn The other thing is that I didnt realise that there may be a chance of getting eosophegal cancer from having bulimia and this really worries me sick. My grandfather, uncle and aunt (on my dad's side) all died of mouth and throat cancer in their 40s and 50s. But Dad tells me that they all drank and smoked too much. I dont do either and my doctor said that even though I get sick, drinking and smoking would cause eosophegal cancer much quicker than bullimia.
Avatar f tn Hi there. I don't know if I should tell you what it could be, because I'm not a doctor, and don't want to scare you and because I think you probably know if you have been seeing your doctor. Unless she didn't tell you what bulimia could do to you? I also have bulimia but hate hate HATE the fact that I have it and really regret bring such a horrible disease into my life, because it has caused SO many problems for myself and my family. I'll tell you a few of them.

Avatar n tn Except for my teenage and college years, when I struggled on and off with bulimia for roughly 10 years. I stopped completely about 5 years ago, and have never had another episode. Last year, I suddenly started experiencing heart palpitations. I went through the whole workup - Holter monitor, stress test, echo, cardiac MRI, and then another 2-week event monitor. The doc said I'm having PVC's and a few runs of NSVT, but otherwise my heart looks structurally fine.
Avatar f tn m a 31 year old male and about 5 months ago I noticed 2 bump on the side at the very back of my tongue which can only been seen if I stick it out really far, I went to the doctors because I also had a whiteish or yellow patch on the top of my tongue which they thought was due to gerd (acid reflux) they also mentioned mild thrush and put my on Medican for both (the nystatin did nothing for oral thrush) so they concluded it was acid reflux.
Avatar f tn My researching of ventral under toungue comes up as possible cancer etc as it’s more than three weeks. Would tongue cancer start this way or could I just be an infection.
Avatar m tn Bulimia can have a lot to do with anything and everything, and is unique to each person, yet there are a lot of similarities. Studies do indicate that there are a lot of people who suffer from bulimia who have had sexual abuse, however there are bulimics out there who have not been sexually abused. Often eating disorders can revolve around control, fear, and self-loathing, which after sexual abuse can be triggered in a person.
Avatar n tn I have been a struggling with bulimia on and off for about 10 years. More recently, I am suffering with anxiety pain in my ride side and insomnia collectively. Could this be related to the long term effects of bulimia and what should I do first.
1560494 tn?1294843840 I believe that digestive problems are linked to bulima. I have read this somewhere. I also have suffered from bulimia for many years, and have been diagnosed with Irritable Boweld Disease, but now I have come to realize that my digestive problems are from my bulimia. I have messed up my body so much that I have to take something everyday in order to go to the bathroom, if I don't I will go days without.
Avatar f tn The recurrent use of inappropriate compensatory behaviors to prevent weight gain is another essential feature of Bulimia. Many individuals with Bulimia employ several methods in their attempt to compensate for binge eating. The most common compensatory technique is self-induced vomiting after an episode of binge eating. The immediate effects of vomiting include relief from physical discomfort and reduction of fear of gaining weight.
Avatar f tn ive suffered with bulimia on & off since i was 10. for the last 3 years it gotten worse but ive just met someone who i would love to start a family with. i just dont know if i have ruined my chances because of my disorder.
Avatar f tn Could all be related? Maybe. Barrett's knows no age boundaries. If your daughter was a bulimic then the damage done from constant regurgitation could definitely cause the kind of damage required for the onset of Barrett's. In fact, there have even been some cases of esophageal cancer in <30yr olds, all associated bulimia. (Very, very, very few; I've only ever seen 2 documented cases.) The polyps on her vocal chords are very likely also due to the bulimia.

Avatar f tn I've been suffering from Bulimia for a year so far. I've been purging more than 3 times a day, I'm really sick of it. I need to lose weight, and it's keeping me from hitting my target. I'm on medication now (Prozac) and it's slightly helping, not to the extent that I want. I want to end it, I've depression too, so this sometimes help me binge even more when I feel down. So, I feel it's complicated... Is there any way out?
Avatar f tn yes sorry...
Avatar f tn I am 37 and have been bulimic since age 11. I stopped for 5 years and started again 1 year ago. Now I'm having heart problems and stopping has been easier because I'm so weak all the time. I've told my cardiologist about the bulimia and he doesn't seem concerned. Could these things be connected?
