Now my freight train snoring is hardly a little gurgle (according to hubby)...the swelling has been greatly reduced. The fact that you remained relatively symptom free for many years does not mean the HCV was not doing progressive damage to your liver. Often people remain relatively symptom free for 20 years or more.

liver funcions are fine but they were masked at the time of my biopsy which is the true way to know about the liver condition . I would have thought the burning tounge was from chemo and radiation would subside by now but seems to be getting worse . I do know that any and all med's, vitamins, minerals..... anything ingested has to be processed in the liver. MY GI dr. said that pain med's , and other med's are harmful to the liver and your liver " takes a hit" when we take these things.over a long period of time. example: I took Tamoxifen for 5 years..... it harmed my liver. I also had chemo for br. cancer---- the chemo drugs harmed my liver even more. MY GI dr. told me to take only what he prescribes......

I began doxycycline 100 mg twice a day, and by the third dose I was getting the twinges of pain in my liver. Today I am feeling nauseaus. Needless to say I stopped the doxycycline but 'Im curious if others living with Hep C experience liver issues with doxycycline?
