Avatar n tn I have lost half a stone in weight and having oral problems such as recurrent sore throats and burning sensation in tongue and lips and roof of mouth. I have spoken to the doctors online in the HIV expert forum who have told me my 7 week negative test is 98% conclusive and the only reason people push for 3 month testing is to cover themselves, what are your thoughts on this. My doctor also tells me it is highly unusual for a 7 week neg elisa test to tun positive at 12 weeks plus.
Avatar m tn With a lack of appetite (anorexia is the medical term for that) and weight loss in addition to the tongue problem, you might consider seeing a GI (gastrointestinal) specialist. Do you feel that depression might be a cause of not being hungry for you? About your frequent urination: Have you seen a urologist? Did you get a culture on your urine or was it a urinanalysis (UA) only that was done?
Avatar f tn the other symptom that makes me worry is the twitching in my muscles, in my tongue and pain in my back and arms. I had many appointments with many doctors. I had blood tests, MRI of brain and spinal cord, EKG and all are normal. My vitamins level are too. I am worry if it is AlS with these respiratory and weakness problems but my doctor don't even hear it. He told me that i shouldn't have an EMG because he doesn't see any atrophy.
Avatar m tn It is a white-yellowish coating on my tongue, my tongue also has like red bumps at the back of my tongue, scalloped edges and like canker sores in the edges back deeper inside. I find this really scary! Has anyone seen anything like that before? Is that an ARS symptom? My other question is. Have you ever seen or have known about a 28 day combo test (4th generation) negative result changing when restesting in the following weeks/months? Thank you very much for your help and attention.
Avatar m tn Also, I have constant white tongue and geographic tongue. No other symptoms...no fever, no night sweats, no weight loss, etc. Can u tell me your knowledge on this subject regarding HIV, the gut, the throat, etc? It's been 3 months, so I don't think it's ARS, but the sore throat is continuous as is the white tongue and stomach cramping.

711242 tn?1275003402 I was really under the impression that most MS sufferers were plagued with weight loss, interesting. Also as I am 45 years old and have never been diagnosed with MS wouldn't it be highly unlikely for me to be newly diagnosed with MS at this age? I am working with an internal medicine Dr and he will send me for an enclosed MRI with and without contrast so I am sure we will figure it out. He has stated that I have peripheral neuropathy but isn't sure of the cause yet.
Avatar m tn My friends son has developed a lump under his tongue which is painful and has put him off his food hence weight loss. She lives in Indonesia where medical care is costly and does not appear to be up to the standards you would expect. He has been prescribed a steroid ointment (for topical use only ?????) which has reduced the size of the lump but it then returns when the ointment is not used. I have suggested she ask her GP to undertake blood tests fbc ue b12 folate but after that I am at a loss.
Avatar n tn Hi Scalp itchiness, easy fatigability and weight loss are nonspecific signs and symptoms. When I say nonspecific, several factors may be causing these. I know you are worried about your PAP smear results, however at this point I would suggest that you have a complete physical examination by a medical internist. An abdominal examination and cardiac tests may be done to eliminate any possible cause of your symptoms.
Avatar f tn And could it possibly be caused by low weight (caused by the weight loss happening due to all of the symptoms that led to the test!)?

Avatar m tn Ask him to recommend a diet that is lower in carbohydrates to help you lose weight and lower your insulin levels. Your diet should mostly consist of protein, healthy fats, vegetables, and occasional fruit. Avoid sugary drinks. Instead of drinking juice, eat the fruit. Drink mostly water. If you need help with meals and snacks, just leave me a message. It's not easy changing what you eat.
Avatar f tn Always been a solid 115 for a couple years I somehow never went up or down. Couple months ago I decided to change up my diet. This caused stomach pain and weight loss which started to scare me and I thought something was wrong. Went to doctors and he said its nothing. I lost about 10 pounds during that time. Since then I have no weighed myself because I do not want to know and stress out. Pain in stomach got better after I went to the doctor and he told me I was fine.

Avatar m tn I have itching on one spot in my midback along with floating stools, back pain, abdominal pain, some hoarseness and weight loss. Had an MRCP and they found a 5mm cyst (lesion) in head of pancreas. Too small to biopsy so still waiting to be scanned again and a biopsy done if it has gotten bigger. Get scanned asap. It may be nothing but the sooner you know they better your chances are of treating it. Something is blocking your bile duct (pale stool) and it might just be a stone.
