Avatar n tn My 20 month old grandson has had vomiting for almost a week. He has had a history of reflux, but this past week he has had some projectile vomiting, no fever, and just can't keep anything down. What should we do? No fever, his pedi thinks it's a virus and lasts 7 to 10 days.
641554 tn?1319841117 Ok is anyone having nausea and no vomiting? What to do to help it. I hate it. I feel it in my throat but nothing is coming out. I just want to stick my finger down there and make it come out. It's all day.
Avatar f tn Postoperative low temperature, nausea and vomiting are unpleasant "normal" immediate and early side effects of surgical procedures due to a combination of factors, the most prominent ones being associated with the administration of anaesthetic and haemorrhage. As the effects of the anaesthesia wear off, normally within 24 hours or less after the surgery, the patient should start experiencing improvement and better temperature regulation.
Avatar f tn I have a 20-month old toddler who has been having seizures since the first time he's had a high fever (he was around 13month old). Since then, every somewhat elevated temperature will result in a seizure. We have been to the emergency a few times and were always told that he is in fact experiencing febrile seizures which are of no concern. The seizures never last longer than a few minutes, at most.
Avatar n tn I am 6+1 and I haven't had the morning sickness kick in full force yet. I'm having to choke down food but no vomiting. I also have a toddler. Dreading when the vomiting starts! Maybe this babe will be a boy and I won't have any morning sickness because with DD I was barfing from 6 weeks well into mid-2nd tri. No advice, just empathy.
Avatar n tn Not wanting to eat is not as much of a concern as not drinking is - a child can dehydrate very quickly and dehydration can be very serious, especially in a child. Dehydration will also happen a lot faster if the child is also vomiting and/or has diarrhea or a fever. Please do not hesitate - take your child to the ER. Please let us know what you find out and how your child is doing. Best of luck!
Avatar f tn Its tough when they are that little. Pedialyte will be of no help unless they have vomiting and diarrhea. As for meds, unless they have an ear infection or something bacterial meds won't be of any help. There are a lot of viruses going around now, including influenza... you should take them to be checked out by the pediatrician just to be safe.
Avatar f tn this summer, but diahrea is a major part of that, vomiting and cramping as well, but if they have no diahrea I don't think it could be that, also the smell of the poop is, well, it is unforgetable. I have seen some posts about parasites, maybe they can look into that. I wish I had more ideas, but hopefully posting will at least keep your issue near the top of the page.
Avatar n tn Aprox 6 days ago began furball style constant retching. Some vomiting, contained food. No diarreah, no constipation. Usually pees a ton, noticed some decrease. Treated with Kittymalt for 3 days to treat suspected furball. Did not help. Over next 2 days (weekend, Vet not open) retching continued. Noticed food intake decreased sharply. Is usually a glutton. Also is usually extremely high energy, but only wanted to sleep. Vomited clear mucas fluid, then yellow fluid (bile?
Avatar f tn So my daughter has had trouble with vomiting 3-5 nights a week since she was a toddler (she is almost 11). She has been diagnosed with Asthma and a few environmental allergies. Her allergist stated that the vomiting is due to the asthma. However, I am starting to suspect the opposite may be true. I know vomiting is not good for her esophagus. She does not experience pain before vomiting.
Avatar n tn Nevertheless, the vomiting and not-eating continues. He will go for months with no vomiting, and after a while he starts to eat a little more normally. Then he goes through a period where he will vomit 1-2 times per day for about 10-14 days straight. Sometimes he vomits because he gags on food... foods that should not cause a person to gag. I have seen him gag on mashed potatoes, yogurt, oatmeal, lots of things. Other times, he vomits after he is completely finished eating.
Avatar f tn I am just getting over that flu that started on the 23rd. Vomiting and everything than turned into chest cold. Tylenol is okay to take for the fever but I was told if you can't control it with meds go in to the er. Watch to make sure you stay hydrated, I hope you feel better soon. Rest!
7677085 tn?1395374075 Okay I know this is the wrong forum to post this on, but my little girl (eighteen months today) has puked about eight times in less than twelve hours. i checked the toddler forum and the pediatric forum and they rarely get any replies, so I'm begging for help from mommies on here! I took her to her pediatrician and he told me what to watch for (danger wise). I'm looking for comfort techniques and advice on how she should sleep tonight.
Avatar n tn My son is 3 yrs old. I took him last Sunday to the pediatrician for vomiting. Prior to that I took him 2 weeks ago for cough and chest congestion. My son has had a bad cough for over 4 weeks and starting on Sunday he was vomiting, naseous, complete loss of apetite. The pediatrician drew blood, ordered a chest x-ray and put him on a nebulizer treatment. He said that his chest was congested and the vomiting was probably due to that or a small virus.
Avatar f tn Exposure to air while driving causes a continuous clearing of throat and mucus. Last week it seems to be getting worst as i find myself coughing for no reason, pain in my throat, vomiting and shortness of breath some times with a bout of hot flash.. I now have to travel with a bottle of water. Everything does not subside until i clear my throat fully of mucus. During this time, i cannot speak until i clear my throat.
Avatar f tn t tell if we are dealing with behavioral issues or not, because he will go a month without vomiting and then go for 2 mos vomiting more than twice a day. When he is in a cycle of vomiting, he throws up sometimes more than 4 times a day. Worst times seem to be in the morning and at bedtime. So, he throws up in his bed quite a bit too. He has GERD. He has been tested for gastroenteritis, had done an upper GI, a CT and also endoscopy with normal results.
